Gatekeeper Y35HD Quick Install Guide
Mounting
- Mount the Y35HD in the vehicle's cabin area where there is environmental control (i.e. heating and/or air-conditioning).
- Secure the Y35HD to interior surfaces using the Tek Screws provided for mounting.
- All cables running through holes in sheet metal (ceiling, bulkhead, etc.) must be protected with grommets.
- Ensure that the device is mounted where it is not easily accessible by non-authorized personnel.
- DO NOT orient the device such that the drive caddy handle faces the floor of the vehicle.
- DO NOT disassemble the device. There are no user serviceable parts inside, and removing the cover of the Y35HD will void the device's warranty.
Power Supply
- The Y35HD operates between 8V ~ 36V. Please ensure a regulated, consistent power source is available for the device.
- The power supply cable connects to the back of the device through a 9-pin power input-output connector (CAB000360). The power source should be clean and (preferably) connected directly from the battery or the power bus.
- The supplied fuses MUST be used; Failure to use the provided fuses will void the device's warranty.
- The 3AMP fuse must be installed close to the power source on the Yellow Ignition wire on CAB000360.
- The 15AMP fuse must be installed as close as possible to the source on the Red (+12V) wire on CAB000360.
Sensor Connections
GPS Connection
The device is equipped with a connection port for an external GPS antenna. The GPS must be connected in order to embed vehicle location and vehicle speed information with the video. The GPS antenna should be installed on the exterior roof of the vehicle with a clear view of the sky.
ICD Connection
The 10-pin ICD connector (CAB000390 + CAB000391) is used to connect the ICD to provide a touch-screen interface.
Driver Alert Button Connection
The tri-color Driver Alert Button (G4-TCR-DrvAlert) is connected using the 4-Pin connector (CAB000371) to the RS485 Converter (CAB000387) to the sensor cable (CAB000376).
External Sensor Module Connection
The ESM is connected to the Sensor Cable (CAB000387) to provide support for an additional 8 sensor inputs (9 – 16), and 2 sensor outputs.

Cabling Diagram Description
The cabling diagram illustrates the connections for the Y35HD system:
- Y35HD Unit: Features ports for AV OUT, GPS, SENSORS 1-8, SENSOR OUT 1, SENSOR OUT 2, GND, 5V, and MIC (future use).
- Power Connection: Connects via a 9-pin connector (CAB000360) with wires for IGN (Yellow, 3AMP fuse), GND (Black), and 12V (Red, 15AMP fuse). Fuses should be installed close to the power source.
- GPS: Connects to the GPS antenna for location tracking.
- Sensors: Connects to various sensors via a sensor serial cable (CAB000376).
- ICD Connection: Uses extension cables (CAB000390, CAB000391) to connect to the ICD for a touch-screen interface.
- Driver Alert Button: Connects via a connectorized cable (CAB000371) to the RS485 Converter (CAB000387), which links to the sensor cable (CAB000376). Note: ICD or Driver Alert Button can be used, but not both simultaneously.
- Cameras: Supports standard analog/AHD cameras and up to one IP camera.
- Network: Uses CAT 5 cables for network connectivity.
- Configuration Input: When using a monitor, configuration is done via a remote control or a finger mouse.
