LINE CORD SAFETY TIPS · Never pull or yank on cord or the appliance. · To insert plug, grasp it firmly and guide it into outlet. · To disconnect appliance, grasp plug and remove it from outlet. Do
not pull on the line cord. · Before each use, inspect the line cord for cuts and/or abrasion
marks. If any are found, this indicates that the appliance should be serviced, and the line cord replaced. · Never wrap the cord tightly around the appliance, as this could place undo stress on the cord where it enters the appliance and cause it to fray and break.
IMPORTANT During the first few minutes of initial use, you may notice smoke and/or a slight odor. This is normal and should quickly disappear. It will not recur after appliance has been used a few more times.
WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not remove the bottom cover. No user serviceable parts inside. Repair should be done by authorized service personnel only.
UNPACKING · Carefully unpack the Coffee Maker and all parts. Remove any tape,
labels or packaging materials. · Wash filter basket, glass carafe and carafe lid with warm, soapy
water. Rinse well and dry thoroughly. · Wipe exterior surfaces of the product with a soft, moist cloth to
remove dust particles collected during packing and handling. NEVER IMMERSE THE COFFEE MAKER, CORD OR PLUG IN WATER OR ANY OTHER LIQUID. · Place Coffee Maker on a solid, level, heat-resistant surface.

CLEANING THE COFFEE MAKER
Before the first use, the Coffee Maker should be rinsed with clean water by running a brew cycle. 1. Fill the glass carafe to maximum fill line of 12 cups with cool water and pour it into the water reservoir. 2. Make sure the filter basket is properly seated. NOTE: Allow water to cycle through without coffee, this will clean the water reservoir and filter basket. 3. Plug the Coffee Maker into an electrical outlet. Ideally, the Coffee Maker should be operated on its own circuit, separate from other appliances. The touchscreen display will illuminate all of the control buttons. 4. Push the BREW button once. The brew cycle will begin. The BREW button will be illuminated during the brew cycle while brewing. 5. After the cycle is complete, the digital display light on the BREW button will remain illuminated during the 2 hour Keep Warm mode. NOTE: After 2 hours, the Coffee Maker will automatically shut off and the BREW button will no longer be illuminated. 6. The Coffee Maker is now ready for use.
SETTING THE CLOCK
Setting the Clock on the Coffee Maker is optional for the Brew function, but it is essential to set the clock before using the Auto Brew function. When set, the time will appear in the digital display. When the Coffee Maker is plugged in for the first time or when the clock has not yet been set, it will default to 12:00. 1. To set the HOUR, press the HR button to advance one hour at a time. Hold the button to rapidly advance the hours. The hours will only count upward. Make note of the AM and PM indicator when setting the hour. 2. To set the MINUTE, press the MIN button to advance one minute at a time. Hold the button to rapidly advance the minutes. The minutes will only count upward. 3. After selecting the correct hour and minute and releasing the HR and MIN buttons, the time is now set.

BREWING COFFEE
1. Make sure the Coffee Maker is on a dry, level, heat-resistant surface. 2. Fill the glass coffee carafe to MAX fill line of 12 cups with cool water and pour into the water reservoir. 3. Make sure the filter basket is properly seated. 4. Follow the coffee manufacturers recommended serving size and add coffee to the coffee filter for each cup desired, increasing or decreasing to suit individual taste. A standard (8-12 cups) paper basket-style coffee filter is the recommended filter. 5. Push the power button once. The Coffee Maker will go from Idle mode to Stand¬by mode, and all buttons will be illuminated. NOTE: After pressing the power button, if no command button is pressed, the Coffee Maker will return to Idle mode after 30 seconds with only the power button and Time Display illuminated. 6. After pressing the power button, press the brew button to begin the brew cycle. The brew button's digital display light will illuminate while brewing and will continue to stay on during the keep warm mode. This function is programmed for 12 cups of coffee. For 1-4 cups of coffee, please refer to the directions in the following section. 7. After the brew cycle is complete, the coffee maker will switch to keep warm mode. After 2 hours, the coffee maker will automatically shut off and return to Idle mode. NOTE: If the power button is pressed while the coffee maker is in the process of brewing, this will cancel the brew cycle. To restart, empty the carafe and insert a new paper filter with ground coffee. Check the water level in the water reservoir for any remaining water to prevent over-filling on the next brew cycle.
BREWING 1-4 CUPS OF COFFEE
1. Make sure the coffee maker is on a dry, level, heat-resistant surface. 2. Fill the glass coffee carafe to the "4" mark with cool water and pour into the water reservoir. 3. Make sure the filter basket is properly seated. 4. Insert a paper coffee filter and add coffee, increasing or decreasing the amount to suit individual taste. 5. Push the power button to bring coffee maker from Idle mode to Stand-by mode. Next, push the 1-4 cups button (it will become illuminated), and then push the brew button to begin the brewing cycle.

Note that if the brew button is not pressed within 3 seconds of

pressing the 1-4 cups button, the coffee maker will return to stand-by

mode. The 1-4 cups button's digital display light will illuminate as well

as the BREW button's display light. The 1-4 Cups brewing cycle will

begin.

After the cycle is complete, the Coffee Maker will return to stand-by mode, which is off, beeping once.
NOTE: There is no Keep Warm function available for the 1-4 CUPS function. NOTE: If the POWER button is pressed while the Coffee Maker is in the process of brewing, this will cancel the brew cycle. To restart, empty the carafe and insert a new paper filter with ground coffee. Check the water level in the water reservoir for any remaining water to prevent over-filling on the next brew cycle.
PROGRAMMABLE AUTO BREW START (AUTO BREW) FUNCTION
1. Prepare the Coffee Maker by adding water to the "12" mark and coffee for brewing as you would for immediate brewing. 2. Press the POWER button to bring the Coffee Maker from Idle mode to Stand-by mode. 3. Press the PROG button and then set the time you would like the Auto Brew cycle to begin by using the HR and MIN buttons. Make note of the AM and PM indicator when setting the Auto Brew time. NOTE: If the Auto Brew time is not set after 5 seconds of flashing, the Coffee Maker will return to Stand-by mode. 4. After setting the desired time for the Auto Brew cycle to begin, press the AUTO button to lock in the desired time. The digital display light will remain illuminated on the AUTO button indicating that the Auto Brew function has been set. NOTE: If you need to check the Auto Brew time again, press the PROG button and the display light will change to show the Auto Brew set time for 3 seconds, and then it will return to the display clock. 5. The Coffee Maker will automatically begin brewing coffee at the set time. The display will now show the illuminated display light on the BREW button. After the brew cycle is complete, the Coffee Maker will switch to Keep Warm mode. After 2 hours, the Coffee Maker will automatically shut off and return to Idle mode. 6. If you want to re-set the Auto Brew time, press the PROG button, and adjust the time by pressing the HR and MIN buttons. Then follow the above Programmable Auto Brew Start directions beginning with Step 3. NOTE: In order to cancel the auto brew function before the brewing cycle has begun, press the power button and the auto display light will turn off and the coffee maker will return to stand-by mode. To cancel the auto brew function during the brewing cycle, press the power button and the coffee maker will return to stand-by mode.

PROGRAMMABLE BREW START (AUTO BREW) FUNCTION FOR 1-4 CUPS
1. Prepare the Coffee Maker by adding water to the "4" mark and coffee for brewing as you would for immediate brewing. 2. Press the PROG button and then set the time you would like the Auto Brew cycle to begin by using the HR and MIN buttons. Make note of the AM and PM indicator when setting the Auto Brew time. NOTE: If the time is not set after 5 seconds of flashing, the AUTO button will turn off and the Coffee Maker will return to Stand-by mode. 3. After setting the desired time for the delayed brew cycle to begin, press the AUTO button to lock in the desired time. The digital display light will be illuminated on the AUTO button indicating that the Auto Brew function has been selected. 4. Next press the 1-4 cups button. The digital display light will be illuminated on 1-4 cups in addition to the AUTO display light. 5. The Coffee Maker will begin brewing at the set time. The display will now show the illuminated display light on the BREW button as well as the 1-4 cups display light. After the Brew Cycle is complete, the Coffee Maker will return to Idle mode. NOTE: There is no Keep Warm function available for the Auto Brew 1-4 cups function.
KEEP WARM AND AUTO SHUT-OFF
After brewing, the Coffee Maker will switch to a Keep Warm function. During this function, the warming plate stays hot to keep the brewed coffee at a suitable serving temperature. After 2 hours, the Coffee Maker will automatically turn off (return to Idle mode). If carafe is empty, turn Coffee Maker off by pressing POWER button. NOTE: There is no Keep Warm mode when using the 1-4 CUPS function and Auto Brew 1-4 cups function.
FOR A SECOND POT Turn the coffee machine off and allow to cool for 10 minutes before brewing a second pot of coffee. Replace the coffee filter and add new coffee grounds. Place carafe on warming plate and use another container to pour cold water into water reservoir. Use the water level indicator to determine water level.

PAUSE AND SERVE If at any time during the brewing process the glass carafe is removed from the warming plate, the brewing process will pause until the carafe is placed back onto the warming plate. This feature ensures that coffee will not drip if carafe is removed from the warming plate to serve a cup of coffee while it is brewing. To use this feature, be sure carafe is properly positioned on warming plate and allow it to fill with at least one or two cups of freshly brewed coffee before removing. After pouring, immediately replace carafe on warming plate.
WARNING: TO AVOID DAMAGE TO THE UNIT, SPILLS OR BURNS, USE THE PAUSE AND SERVE FEATURE ONLY AS DIRECTED. DO NOT PLACE A MUG OR CUP DIRECTLY UNDERNEATH THE WATER OUTLET.
USER MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
This appliance contains no user serviceable parts. Do not try to repair it yourself. Refer it to qualified service personnel if servicing is needed. The Coffee Maker should be cleaned on a regular basis to prolong the life of the machine and to guarantee optimal brewing results.
TO CLEAN
1. Remove paper filter and coffee grounds from the filter basket. 2. Fill the coffee carafe with 1 cup of white vinegar and 3 cups of cool water and pour into the water reservoir. 3. Press the 1-4 cups button and then press the BREW button to run a brew cycle that will cleanse the Coffee Maker. 4. Allow Coffee Maker to cool for 10 minutes and discard the liquid in the carafe. Then rinse by filling the water reservoir to "12" with clean, cold water, selecting the BREW button and run a water-only cycle. When finished discard the water. 5. Turn off the Coffee Maker and unplug from the wall outlet. 6. Wipe down the outside surfaces of the Coffee Maker with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly.
NEVER use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaning pads. NEVER immerse the Coffee Maker in water or any other liquid and NEVER place the appliance under running water

7. Remove the filter basket, and carafe and wash in warm soapy water. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Dry thoroughly prior to use. TO STORE · Be sure all parts are clean and dry before storing. Store appliance in its box or in a clean, dry place. Never store it while it is hot or wet. · Never wrap cord tightly around the appliance; the line cord should be inserted into the cord storage on back of coffee maker. · ALWAYS store the Coffee Maker in an upright position.

PLACEMENT AND REMOVAL OF CARAFE LID To remove the carafe lid: 1. Open the lid to the vertical position. 2. Gently pull the lid upward to allow the tabs on the carafe lid to release from the notches on the carafe handle.
To replace the carafe lid: 1. Align the tabs on the lid with the notches on the carafe handle. 2. Gently press the lid down until the tabs on the carafe lid engage with the notches on the carafe handle.

ONE YEAR WARRANTY
AIWA warrants its products for one year against defects in manufacturing under regular consumer use with original receipt of retail purchase. We believe in our products and want to provide you with a replacement, if needed, but we have to know about the problem while the product is still under warranty. If you discover a defect covered by this warranty, please contact us about receiving a replacement. In order to use the products warranty the customer must provide proof of the retailers receipt.
*Any customers outside of the U.S. will be responsible for shipping and handling charges if a replacement is required that is not due to a manufacturing defect. If there is not a manufacturing defect, shipping and handling will be applied. AIWA's warranty is limited to our products only. Our warranty does not cover the replacement or repair cost of any third-party accessory, electronic device or personal property.
