To avoid hazard, follow these instructions carefully before installing or using this appliance. z Please make this information available to the person installing the appliance-- doing so could reduce your installation costs. z This appliance must be installed and connected to the mains power supply only by a suitably qualified person according to these installation instructions and in compliance with any applicable local building and electricity regulations. Failure to install the appliance correctly could invalidate any warranty or liability claims. z If the power supply cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard. z Isolating switch: ensure this cooker is connected to a circuit which incorporates an isolating switch providing full disconnection from the power supply in accordance with the wiring rules. z The cooker must be earthed. z Do not use adaptors, reducers or branching devices to connect the cooker to the mains electricity supply, as they can cause overheating and burning. z Check for damage after unpacking and that the cooker door closes correctly. z Some appliances are supplied with a protective film on steel and aluminium parts. GENERAL INSTALLATION INFORMATION Cleaning and servicing z Service should only be performed by an authorised technician. z Always disconnect the appliance from mains power supply before carrying out any maintenance operations or repairs. z When removing appliance for cleaning and/or service: z Disconnect power supply. z Carefully remove the cooker by pulling outward. z The misuse of oven door (eg stepping, sitting, or leaning on them) can result in potential hazards and/or injuries. z When installing or removing the cooker for service, a rolling lift jack should be used. Do not push against any of the edges of the cooker in an attempt to slide it into or out of the installation. Pushing or pulling a cooker (rather than using a lift jack) also increases the possibility of bending the leg spindles or the internal coupling connectors. IMPORTANT! z Cooker is heavy; use care in handling. z Do not lift the cooker by the oven door handle or hob rail, or by lifting the cooktop trim as this may damage the appliance. The same clearances apply to island installations. z The freestanding cooker can be placed in various positions with respect to the cabinet front, with the control panel either flush or projecting, depending on the cabinetry depth. z The electrical supply should be within the zones shown in the following diagrams. z Any openings in the wall behind the freestanding cooker and in the floor under the freestanding cooker must be sealed. z Always keep the appliance area clear and free from combustible materials, gasoline and other flammable vapors and liquids. z Do not obstruct the flow of combustion and ventilation air to the unit. 7 VENTILATION REQUIREMENTS z Ventilation hoods and blowers are designed for use with single wall ducting, however some local building codes or inspectors may require double wall ducting and/or a damper. Consult local building codes and/or agencies before installing to ensure local requirements are met. z Hood blower speeds should be variable to reduce noise and loss of household air. The maximum speed should only be required when using the grill. z Due to a high volume of ventilation air, a source of make-up air (outside replacement air) is recommended. This is particularly important for tightly sealed and insulated homes. A reputable heating and ventilating contractor should be consulted. REMOVE TOE KICK UNPACKING THE FREESTANDING COOKER 2. REMOVE DOORS 1 Remove both screws to detach the toe kick from the freestanding cooker. FRONT VIEW Open the door completely and 1 open the hinge locks fully on both sides. Set pallet aside and pull product to the installation location. 9 REMOVING AND REFITTING THE OVEN DOOR IMPORTANT! z Take care, the oven door is heavy. z Do not lift the oven door by its handle. Doing so may damage the door. z Ensure the oven and the door are cool before you begin to remove the door. z Before removing the door, ensure there is a large enough clear, protected surface in the kitchen to rest the door on. REMOVE DOOR REFIT THE DOOR Holding the door at 45°, carefully align 1 Open the door completely. 1 the hinge tongues with the hinge slots. The electrician should also check that the electrical system is suitable for the electricity drawn by the cooker. z The appliance must be connected to the mains electricity supply, checking that the voltage corresponds to the value given in the rating plate and that the electrical cable sections can withstand the load specified on the plate. z An approved disconnection switch must be incorporated in the permanent wiring, mounted and positioned to comply with the local wiring rules and regulations. The switch must provide a 3mm air gap between all poles. z The switch must always be accessible. z The power supply cable must not touch any hot parts and must be positioned so that it does not exceed 75°C at any point. z If you wish to use a plug to connect the appliance, you may do so as long as the work is carried out by a qualified electrician using a plug that's suitably rated. Replacing the power cord z Replacements should only be made by a qualified electrician. z Use a cable according to the applicable local regulations. IMPORTANT! z An improper 220/240 VAC power supply will cause malfunction, damage to this appliance, and possibly create a condition of shock hazard. z Improper connection of aluminium house wiring can result in a fire or shock hazard. Use only connectors designed and certified for connecting to aluminium wire. ELECTRICAL FEEDER CABLE CONNECTION IMPORTANT! The power supply cable must be connected by a Fisher & Paykel trained and support service technician or qualified person. Power supply cable section Use a type of cable according to the applicable local regulations. 1 Remove the two screws that hold the rear access panel in place at the back of the cooker and set aside. Lock the strain relief tight on the power supply cable screw the rear access panel back in place. IMPORTANT! The earth conductor should remain around 30mm longer than the others. single-phase connection illustrated THREE-PHASE CONNECTION Remove J1 and J2 2 4 1 3 5 # L2 L1 N PE 13 TOE KICK INSTALLATION LEVELLING THE FREESTANDING COOKER Insert both foot covers into the 1 toe kick ensuring the long hem edge is facing the inside of the 1 product. Long hem edge FRONT VIEW PROFILE VIEW To expose both front feet, slide the interlocking foot covers out of the way. Turn feet to adjust the height. Align the toe kick with side panels of the freestanding 2 cooker. 2 Clip into place by rotating and pushing the bracket down over the freestanding cooker structure. CROSS SECTION PROFILE VIEW PROFILE VIEW Replace both sets of covers, ensuring each set locks together. PRIOR TO FINAL POSITIONING z Ensure the doors and toe kick panel are securely in place, if removed previously. z Ensure any backguard is fitted prior to final positioning. To achieve a flush fit of the freestanding cooker to adjoining countertops, it will be necessary to have level cabinets (front to back, and left to right across opening of the freestanding cooker). To reduce the risk of tipping the appliance, it must be secured by properly installed anti-tip device packed with the appliance. · A child or adult can tip the freestanding cooker and be killed. · Install the anti-tip device to the structure by fastening the supplied bracket to the floor and wall following the instructions for installing the anti-tip device. · Engage the anti-tip device. · Re-engage the anti-tip device if the freestanding cooker is moved. All freestanding cookers must have an anti-tip device correctly installed as per the following instructions. If you pull the freestanding cooker out from the wall for any reason, make sure that the device is properly engaged when you push the freestanding cooker back against the wall. If it is not, there is a risk of the freestanding cooker tipping over and causing injury if you or a child stand, sit or lean on an open oven door. Instructions are provided for wood and concrete floors. Any other type of construction may require special installation techniques as deemed necessary to provide adequate fastening of the Anti-tip bracket to the floor and wall. The use of this bracket does not preclude tipping of the freestanding cooker when not properly installed. Wood substrate 1 Place the bracket against the back wall, into the right rear corner where the freestanding cooker is to be located. Leave a 13mm gap between the wall (or side of freestanding cooker) and the bracket, as shown. 2 Drill 3.2mm diameter pilot holes in the center of the two small holes. A nail or awl may be used if a drill is not available. 3 Fasten the bracket securely to the floor and wall. Concrete or cement substrate 1 Locate the bracket as shown. 2 Using the bracket as a template, drill (x2) 8mm diameter pilot holes in the center of the larger holes to a depth of at least 45mm. 3 Place the sleeve anchors into the holes and use a hammer to tap them all the way in. 4 Tighten the nuts on the sleeve anchors to fasten the bracket securely to the floor. Once installed Check for proper installation of the freestanding cooker and Anti-tip bracket by grasping the back of the freestanding cooker and carefully attempting to tilt it forward. F Backguard attached if there is less than 152mm clearance to combustibles behind unit. F Radiant tray placed in grill unit (if equipped). The grill grate is in place. F Island trim or optional backguard correctly attached. F The anti-tip bracket is correctly installed. F Door is correctly installed. Check hinge locks both rest inside slots comfortably and neither of the locating notches are visible when oven door is open. When oven door is closed it should run parallel to surrounding cabinetry and sit completely vertical to ensure oven is sealing correctly. ELECTRICAL F Receptacle with properly rated over-current protection is provided for service cord connection. F Adequate ground connection. F Front kick panel in place and two screws secure. OPERATION F All internal packing materials removed. Check below the grate and inside the oven. F Grill grate is seated and does not rock (if equipped). F Knobs turn correctly and freely.
