General Safety Rules

WARNING: Read all of the instructions before using this appliance. When using this appliance, always exercise basic safety precautions, including the following:

NOTE: If the freezer has been placed in a horizontal or tilted position for any period of time wait 24 hours before plugging the unit in.

  1. Use this appliance only for its intended purpose as described in this use and care guide.
  2. This freezer must be properly installed in accordance with the installation instructions before it is used. See grounding instructions in the installation section.
  3. Never unplug your freezer by pulling on the power cord. Always grasp the plug firmly and pull straight out from the outlet.
  4. Repair or replace immediately, all electric service cords that have become frayed or otherwise damaged. Do not use a cord that shows cracks or abrasion damage along its length, the plug or the connector end.
  5. Unplug your freezer before cleaning or before making any repairs. Note: If for any reason this product requires service, we strongly recommend that a certified technician performs the service.
  6. Do not use any electrical device or any sharp instrument in defrosting your freezer.
  7. If your old freezer is not being used, we recommend that you remove the doors. This will reduce the possibility of danger to children.
  8. WARNING: After your freezer is in operation, do not touch the cold surfaces in the freezer compartment, particularly when hands are damp or wet. Skin may adhere to these extremely cold surfaces.
  9. Do not refreeze foods, which have been thawed completely. The United States Department of Agriculture in Home and Garden Bulletin No. 69 reads: "...You may safely refreeze frozen foods that have thawed if they still contain ice crystals or if they are still cold-below 40°F". "...Thawed ground meats, poultry, or fish that have any off-odor or off-color should not be refrozen and should not be eaten. Thawed ice cream should be discarded. If the odor or color of any food is poor or questionable, discard it. The food may be dangerous to eat."
  10. Even partial thawing and re-freezing reduce the eating quality of foods, particularly fruits, vegetables, and prepared foods. The eating quality of red meats is affected less than that of many other foods. Use refrozen foods as soon as possible, to save as much of its eating quality as you can.
  11. This freezer should not be recessed or built-in an enclosed cabinet. It is designed for freestanding installation only.
  12. Do not operate your freezer in the presence of explosive fumes.

DANGER Risk of child entrapment. Before you throw away your old refrigerator or freezer, take off the doors. Leave the shelves in place so that children may not easily climb inside.

This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

Do not use extension cords or ungrounded (two prong) adapters.

If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similar qualified person in order to avoid hazard.

WARNING: Keep ventilation openings, in the appliance enclosure or in the built-in structure, clear of obstruction.

WARNING: Do not use mechanical devices or other means to accelerate the defrosting process, other than those recommended by the manufacturer.

WARNING: Do not damage the refrigerant circuit.

WARNING: Do not use electrical appliances inside the food storage compartments of the appliance, unless they are of the type recommended by the manufacturer.

  1. Remove all packaging material. This includes the foam base and all adhesive tape holding the freezer accessories inside and outside.
  2. Inspect and remove any remains of packing, tape or printed materials before powering on the freezer.

Operating Your Freezer

General Features

Adjustable temperature dial: (see fig. # 1)

The temperature of the appliance is controlled by setting the thermostat dial on the front of the cabinet.

The temperature inside the appliance can vary based on ambient room temperature, the frequency that the lid is opened and the amount of fresh food that has recently been added to the appliance.

Do not overload the appliance as this can affect performance.

Do not freeze large quantities of fresh food at the same time.

(Note: If the freezer has been placed in a horizontal or tilted position for any period of time wait 24 hours before plugging the unit in.)

Normal Operating Sounds You May Hear

Note: If the temperature control knob sets to 7, the compressor may run continuously. It's a quick-frozen mode. Please do not set to 7 frequently.

Food Storage Basket

Your freezer has a basket. A removable basket allows you to store food more accessibly or you can remove it if not needed.

Manual Defrosting Instructions

Manual Defrost Freezer models must be defrosted manually. For best operation, the freezer should be defrosted when the frost accumulation becomes 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick. Below are the instructions for manually defrosting your Freezer.

1 Year Warranty

This product is warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the date of original purchase. During this period, your exclusive remedy is repair or replacement of this product or component found to be defective, at our option; however, you are responsible for all costs associated with returning the product to us. If the product or component is no longer available, we will replace with a similar one of equal or greater value. Prior to a replacement being sent, the product must be rendered inoperable or returned to us.

This warranty does not cover glass, filters, wear from normal use, use not in conformity with the printed directions., or damage to the product resulting from accident, alteration, abuse, or misuse. This warranty extends only to the original consumer purchaser or gift recipient. Keep the original sales receipt, as proof of purchase is required to make a warranty claim. This warranty is void if the product is used for other than single-family household use or subjected to any voltage and waveform other than as on the specified rating on the label (e.g., 120V~60Hz).

We exclude all claims for special, incidental, and consequential damages caused by breach of express or implied warranty. All liability is limited to the amount of the purchase price. Every implied warranty, including any statutory warranty or condition of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, is disclaimed except to the extent prohibited by law, in which case such warranty or condition is limited to the duration of this written warranty. This warranty gives you specific legal rights. You may have other legal rights that vary depending on where you live. Some states or provinces do not allow limitations on implied warranties or special, incidental, or consequential damages, so the foregoing limitations may not apply to you.

Vacation and Moving Care

For long vacations or absences, empty food from freezer, unplug the unit and clean the door gaskets according to "General cleaning" section. Prop doors open, so air can circulate inside. When moving always move the freezer vertically. Do not move with the unit lying down. Possible damage to the sealed system could occur.

WARNING: IF OUTAGE IS FOR A PROLONGED PERIOD, INSPECT AND DISCARD SPOILED OR THAWED FOOD IN FREEZER. CLEAN FREEZER BEFORE REUSING.
