Introduction
This document provides instructions for the Grundig MC 3340 Hair and Beard Clipper, covering usage, safety, cleaning, and technical specifications.
Usage Instructions
Step 1: Unpacking
Unpack the appliance and its accessories.
Step 2: Charging the Device
Charge the device using the supplied power adapter (Input: 100-240V~, 50/60Hz, 0.5A). The charging indicator light will turn blue.
Step 3: Charging Duration
For the first use, charge the device for approximately 14 hours. Subsequent charges require approximately 10 hours. ⚠️ Important: If the device is switched on while charging, the charging process will be interrupted.
Step 4: Attaching the Comb
Push the attachment comb (1 or 2) onto the cutting head until it is secure.
Step 5: Setting the Cutting Length
Use the attachment combs to select the desired cutting length:
- Comb 1: Provides lengths from 2 mm to 21 mm (2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 21 mm).
- Comb 2: Provides lengths from 22 mm to 41 mm (22, 24, 26, 28, 30, 32, 34, 36, 38, 41 mm).
Step 6: Cutting Hair
Ensure hair is washed and dry before cutting. Apply light pressure and cut against the direction of hair growth. Comb the hair and re-cut as needed. If the device becomes blocked by thick hair during use, switch it off. If applicable, remove the power adapter from the socket. Remove the adjustable comb and clean the cutting head with the supplied brush.
Step 7: Trimming Beards
When trimming a beard, apply light pressure and cut against the direction of beard growth. To trim outlines, remove the attachment comb (1 or 2). The cutting length for outlines is 1.5 mm.
Step 8: Switching Off
Switch off the device when finished.
Safety Information
- This appliance is designed for domestic use only.
- This appliance is designed solely for trimming human hair and beards. Any other use is expressly prohibited.
- Never use or charge the appliance in the bath or shower or over a washbasin filled with water. Never operate the appliance with wet hands.
- Never use the appliance if it, the cutting head, or the power adapter shows any signs of damage.
- Only use the appliance with the parts and power adapter supplied.
- Caution: Always keep the power adapter dry.
- When the appliance is being charged, it must not come into contact with water or any other liquid.
- Do not completely immerse the appliance in water.
- After charging, always unplug the cable from the socket and disconnect the power adapter from the wall socket.
- Do not drop the appliance.
- To avoid damaging the power cord, prevent it from being squashed, bent, or rubbing on sharp edges. Keep the power cord away from hot surfaces and open flames.
- Never place the appliance, accessories, or power adapter on or near hot surfaces.
- Check that the mains voltage on the rating label corresponds to your local mains supply.
- Keep the appliance out of the reach of children.
- This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
- Do not open the appliance under any circumstances. No warranty claims are accepted for damage caused by improper handling.
Information and Cleaning
The device must be cleaned regularly.
Cleaning Steps:
- Switch off the device and remove the power adapter.
- Remove the attachment comb from the device. Remove the cutting head by pushing the blade outwards. Clean the cutting head and the space in the device with the brush provided (refer to Figure A).
- Replace the cutting head. To do this, first guide the indent into the notch and push on the cutting head until it clicks into place (refer to Figure B).
Notes:
- Never use water or other fluids to clean the device itself.
- The cutting head and attachment combs can be rinsed with water after being removed from the device.
- Hair should be cleaned from the device after each use.
- It is recommended to occasionally oil the cutting head of the device.
Environmental Note
This product has been manufactured from high-quality parts and materials which can be reused and recycled. Therefore, do not dispose of the device and the built-in rechargeable batteries along with normal household waste at the end of its service life. Take it to a collection point for the recycling of electrical and electronic equipment where the batteries are taken out of the device and disposed of separately. This is indicated by the symbol ♻️ on the product, in the operating manual, and on the packaging. Contact your local authority for collection points in your area. Help protect the environment by recycling used products.
