About the Peak Flow Meter

This supplement manual guides you through the quick and easy use of peak flow meters and the exclusive asthma application called "SONMOL PEF". You will get your predicted values, asthma zones, and asthma diary in one step.

You still need to read the Instructions for Use carefully, especially the "Warnings", "Contraindications", and "Precautions" sections of the instructions. Please always keep all instructions for further use.

Sonmol PEF Application Introduction

Download the "Sonmol PEF” APP from the Apple Store or Google Play.

How to connect Sonmol PEF App with your phone

  1. Turn on Bluetooth on your phone.
  2. Switch on the Peak Flow Meter.
  3. Go to the "Records page" and click the round “peak flow meter” button on the upper right corner.
  4. You have successfully connected the device to your phone until you hear a beep sound.

Blow in to make sure the device works. Check whether the PEF and FEV1 values are showing on the screen.

Note: If you can't connect successfully, restart your phone and connect Bluetooth again. You will see the Bluetooth icon after connected successfully.

Input Your Personal Information

Fill in your information as required. You will need to provide all the information here to get the predicted PEF.

User Info:

Doctor Advised Predicted PEF & FEVI: You can input your doctor's advised predicted PEF and FEVI values, or select "No doctor advised" to use the app's default formula.

Choose Formula: Select the formula for calculating predicted PEF and FEV1.

How to View Your Asthma Diary

  1. Go to the Diary page.
  2. Click Chart.
  3. Click "Save" at the bottom to save the diary chart to your album.

The app will pick up your highest, lowest, and average values throughout the day to complete your asthma diary. The zoning is reasonable and accurate.

How to Use the Peak Flow Meter

2.1 Start: Hold the switch button until you hear a tick sound and see "888" on the screen.

2.2 Ready for the measurement: Two short ticks, followed by the "go" message on screen.

2.3 Measurement: Stand up straight, head naturally or slightly up. Hold both sides of the peak flow meter with both hands. Take a deep breath, blow out completely and as fast as you can. In a few seconds, you will get the measurement result.

Caution

  1. Be careful not to block the hole in the back of the mouthpiece with your fingers.
  2. Choose the mouthpiece that best matches your mouth.
  3. For individual use only.

Records and How to Read Your Historical Data

This device keeps 300 historical records. Records cannot be deleted on the device. You can delete records on the "Diary" page of the "Sonmol PEF" APP. Save your highest value in three testing results manually and complete your Asthma diary. Save your results twice daily, in the morning and evening. Test your PEF and FEV1 consistently at the same period of each day.

Know Your Readings

Your Asthma zones (red/yellow/green) will be automatically displayed instantly on the APP page after each blowing. The asthma diary chart will be automatically generated based on the records of each day. You can save the chart to your album.
