YOUR SAFETY IS IMPORTANT TO US. PLEASE ENSURE YOU TAKE NOTE OF THE
INSTRUCTIONS AND WARNINGS OUTLINED IN THIS MANUAL.
CAUTION: In order to avoid a hazard due to inadvertent resetting of the
thermal cut-out, this appliance must not be supplied through an external switching device, such as a timer, or connected to a circuit that is regularly switched on and off by the utility. · This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with
reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they are supervised or have been given instruction concerning the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. · Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance. · If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.

presents fire risk and will activate the safety fuse; permanently disabling the unit.

occupied by persons not capable of leaving the room on their own, unless constant supervision is provided.

appliance. · This appliance is intended for household use only and not for commercial or
industrial use. · Indoor use only. · Use this appliance only as described in this manual. Any other use is not
recommended by the manufacturer and may cause fire, electric shock or injury. · Do not use the appliance if it has been dropped or damaged. · The common cause of overheating is deposits of dust or fluff in the appliance. Ensure these deposits are removed regularly by unplugging the appliance and vacuum cleaning the air vents and grills.

General Care and Safety Guide
· Never use the appliance to dry clothes. · Always unplug appliance when not in use. · When the appliance has been unpacked, check it for transport damage and
ensure all parts have been delivered. If parts are missing or the appliance has been damaged, contact the Customer Services Team. · Do not use if there are visible signs of damage to the appliance. · Do not connect the appliance to mains supply until completely assembled and adjusted.
· Ensure hands are dry before handling the plug or main unit. · Ensure appliance is on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface. · Do not operate with cord set coiled up as a heat build up is likely, which could
be sufficient to become a hazard. · Carry out regular checks of the supply cord to ensure no damage is evident · Do not operate this appliance with a damaged cord, plug or after the appliance
malfunctions or has been dropped or damaged in any manner. Take to a
qualified electrical person for examination, electrical service or repair. · Do not twist, kink or wrap the cord around the appliance, as this may cause the
insulation to weaken and split. Always ensure that all cord has been removed
from any cord storage area and is unrolled before use. · It is recommended that this appliance is plugged directly into the wall socket.
Power boards are not rated to supply power to high wattage appliances.
· A correctly specified, undamaged extension cord may be used with this appliance provided it is used in a safe manner.
· Do not remove plug from power socket until the appliance has been switched off.
· Do not remove plug from power socket by pulling cord; always grip plug. · Do not place cord under carpet or cover with rugs or furniture. Arrange the cord
so it cannot be tripped over. · Don't place appliance on bedding or on thick & long carpet where the openings
may get blocked. · Switch off and use handle provided when moving · Do not place appliance close to radiant heat source. · Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust
opening, as this may cause an electric shock, fire or damage to the appliance. · Do not sit on the appliance. · Do not use abrasive cleaning products on this appliance. Clean with a damp
cloth (not wet) rinsed in hot soapy water only. Always remove plug from the
mains supply before cleaning.
· Do not operate in areas where petrol, paint or other flammable liquids are used or stored.
· Do not use this appliance in the immediate surrounds of a bath, a shower, or a swimming pool or other liquids.

· The appliance must not be immersed in any liquids. · There are no user serviceable parts installed in the unit. · Do not place the unit in wardrobes or other enclosed spaces as this may cause
fire hazards. · This unit is not supposed to be used in or around locations where foodstuffs,
works of art or delicate articles of science, etc. are stored. · If your appliance does not work, or is not working properly, contact the place of
purchase or the Customer Services Team.

Operating Your Dehumidifier
Always choose a safe location for the dehumidifier, keeping in mind the safety precautions outlined. Ensure all packaging has been removed from the unit befor e use. Please follow the below instructions.
WARNING: In order to avoid overheating or fire, do not cover the
dehumidifier.
WARNING: Keep all objects at least 200mm from all sides of the
appliance.
WARNING: Do not use this dehumidifier with a programmer, separate
timer, remote-control system or any other device that switches the dehumidifier on automatically, since a fire risk exists if the dehumidifier is covered or positioned incorrectly.
WARNING: Never leave this dehumidifier unattended.
Ensure dehumidifier is on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface. Once the dehumidifier is in a safe operating position and all switches are in the off position, insert the power plug into the mains outlet and switch on.
CAUTION: Ensure the power cord is not tight because if pulled it may
partially pull the plug from the socket. A partially inserted plug will overheat the plug and socket and could result in fire.
Leave the appliance to stand for one hour after transport or after the unit has been on its side before connecting it to the mains supply to let the refrigerant settle.
Ensure all external windows and doors are closed beforeturning on the unit.
Ensure that the water container is positioned correctly.

Operating Your Dehumidifier
Lea ve the appliance to s tand for one hour after tra nsport or after the uni t has been on i ts side before connecting it to the mains s upply to l et the refrigerant settle. Ens ure that the water container is positioned correctly. Ens ure all external windows a nd doors are cl osed before turning on the unit. Plug into power suppl y and swi tch on a t the mains. The appliance will display the current humidi ty level on the control panel. The POWER indi ca tor light will illumi nate to show power to the unit. To turn the a ppliance on, press the POWER button. Us e the FAN SPEED button to s witch between High a nd Low fan speeds. As l ong as the water container is not full , the appliance will conti nue to opera te until i t is s wi tched off manually. If the appliance is swi tched off manuall y and then swi tched ba ck on, the compressor will s ta rt to operate a fter three minutes.
To turn the a ppliance off, press the POWER button.
The louvre can be adjus ted manuall y by li fting the louvre at the opening and pushing i t upward or pres sing it back down to close i t.
Press the HUMIDITY SET Button to set the desi red humi dity level in the room, ea ch press of the HUMIDITYSET button will adjust i n 5% i ncrements from 40-80%. Once you ha ve set the desi red humidi ty level , the LED will display the room humidi ty level a ga in and will adjust as the room humidity l evel increases or decreases. When the relati ve humidi ty in the room is lower than the selected humidi ty, the uni t will a utomatically s top dehumidifyi ng until the humidity l evel increases again.
This appliance is designed to provide opti mum performance a t 35°C to 15°C but i t is still effecti ve down to 5°C. Ul ti matel y the performance of this appliance is dependant on the a mount of moisture or water va pour in the air.
Please note: This appliance is ra ted to extra ct 8L per da y in an envi ronment of 80% humidi ty and tempera ture of 30°C. This is the world-wi de s tanda rd for rati ng dehumidi fiers. In NZ we do not ha ve clima ti c condi tions wi th this humi dity and high tempera ture. Accordi ngl y this product wi l l not extract 8L per day, extra ction l evels will be l ower.
Control Panel

Operating your Appliance

TI MER When the uni t is opera ting press the TIMER button to set the length of ti me that you woul d like the uni t to run for before turning off. Each press of the TIMER button will adjus t the length of ti me by 1 hour i ncrements from 1 ­ 24hours . To turn off the Ti mer function, set the Timer ba ck to "00" hours or simply turn the unit off.
When the unit is Off press the TIMER button to set the length of ti me that you would like the unit to remain off before turni ng on. Ea ch press of the TIMER button will adjust the length of time by 1 hour increments from 1 ­ 24hours. To turn off the Timer function, set the Ti mer ba ck to "00" hours or simpl y turn the uni t on ma nually.
WATER TANK FULL A beep si gnal will sound 15 times . The WATER FULL indi ca tor light will illumina te on the control panel . The compressor will s top automa ti call y, a nd the unit will stop dehumidifying. Empty the wa ter container and repla ce i t in the correct posi tion. The appliance will continue dehumidifying when the compressor automa ticall y res tarts a fter approxi matel y three mi nutes.
PERMANENT WATER DRAINAGE It is possible to connect a drainage tube (not supplied) to the uni t for permanent water dra i nage. If this option is desi red, you will need to purchase a sui table tube from your local ha rdwa re retailer. (Goldai r Select does not hol d tubes as s pare parts).
Ensure tha t the end of the tube is lower than the drain opening, otherwise the water will not drain and floodi ng ma y occur. Also ensure the wa ter tank is in posi tion (in the unit) otherwise the continuous drainage will not operate.
Pla ce the end of the drainage tube in a draina ge outlet. When you no l onger wish to use the permanent wa ter drainage, disconnect the dra i nage tube from the devi ce.

1. Remove the water tank
2. Remove the rubber stopper from the water outlet port
3. Connect the plastic tube onto the water outlet port
4. Replace the water tank
WARNING! Take care in
positioning your appliance, using the timer will mean the unit will come on automatically. Fire may result if placed next to combustible material.

Care and Cleaning
CARE AND CLEANING The dehumidifier requires regular cleaning to ensure trouble free operation: · Unplug the dehumidifier from the mains supply before cleaning. · Ensure that the dehumidifier has been allowed to cool down completely before
cl ea ni ng. · The common cause of overheating is deposits of dust or fluff in the appliance. Ensure
these deposits are removed regularly by unplugging the appliance and vacuum cleaning the air vents and grills. · Use a damp cloth (not wet) to wipe the exterior of the dehumidifier to remove dust and dirt. · Never use solutions such as petrol, thinners or polishing agents. · Ensure the dehumidifier is dry before plugging back into the mains supply.
TO CLEAN THE AIR FILTER: Unplug the appliance from the mains supply. Remove the filter. Clean the filter with a vacuum cleaner to remove dust or if it is exceptionally dirty, wash it with warm water and a mild detergent. Ensure the filter is completely dry before placing back in the unit.
WARNING: Never use unit without the air filter.
Do not attempt to dismantle the appliance. There are no user serviceable parts. For service or repair, contact an authorised electrical service technician.
STORAGE To store the unit, r emove the plug from the socket and empty the water tank. Allow the container and the appliance to dry completely. Clean the air filter. Store the device in a dust-free location, preferably covered with a sheet of plastic.

Trouble Shooting your Dehumidifier
