FIRMAN Quick Start / Stop Guide
This Quick Start / Stop Guide is not a substitute for reading the manual. The manual includes instructions that you must follow to use the product safely.
Included Items
- Hose Holder (Not Shown)
- Wheel Kit Components (e.g., wheels, bolts, nuts)
- Tools (e.g., spark plug wrench, screwdriver)
- Manuals (Operator's Manual, Quick Start/Stop Guide)
Install the Wheel Kit
Follow the provided diagrams to attach the wheels and any necessary hardware to the generator frame for mobility.
[Visual Description: Diagrams show the assembly of the wheel kit onto the generator frame using bolts and nuts.]
Prevent Carbon Monoxide (CO) Poisoning
⚠️ DANGER! Engine exhaust contains carbon monoxide, a poisonous gas that will kill you in minutes. You cannot smell it, see it, or taste it. Even if you do not smell exhaust fumes, you could still be exposed to carbon monoxide gas.
Use the generator outdoors at least 20 ft. (6 m) from any home or occupied space. Point the exhaust away from all homes and occupied spaces. Install CO alarms inside your home.
[Visual Description: A generator is shown outdoors, with an arrow indicating exhaust pointing away from a house. A distance marker shows "20 ft. (6 m) min." A warning symbol with an exclamation mark inside a triangle is also depicted.]
Battery Cable Connection
Connect the battery cables to the generator's battery terminals. Ensure correct polarity (positive to positive, negative to negative).

Generator Controls and Operation
Familiarize yourself with the generator's controls:
- Main Selector Switch: Controls the overall power state (START, STOP).
- LPG/NG Selector Switch: Selects the fuel source (LPG or NG).
- Choke Lever: Used for starting the engine, especially when cold.
- Recoil Starter: Manually starts the engine by pulling the cord.
- Engine Switch: Another control for the engine's power state.
- Oil Filler Cap: For checking and adding engine oil.
Follow the numbered steps indicated in the diagrams for starting and stopping the generator. These steps typically involve setting the fuel selector, choke, engine switch, and using the recoil starter or electric start.
[Visual Description: A central diagram of the generator with labels pointing to the Main Selector Switch, LPG/NG Selector Switch, Choke Lever, Recoil Starter, Engine Switch, and Oil Filler Cap. Surrounding diagrams illustrate the sequence of operations, showing switch positions (e.g., START, STOP, LPG, NG, OPEN, CLOSE) and actions like pulling the recoil starter.]
To Restore Power Using Extension Cords
Use the 120V outlet ? for connecting extension cords to power appliances.
Important Safety Guidelines for Extension Cords:
- Only use grounded cords marked for outdoor use, rated for your loads.
- Follow all cord safety instructions.
- Install carbon monoxide alarm(s) inside your home.
- When operating the generator with extension cords, ensure it is located in an open, outdoor area, at least 20 ft. (6 m) from occupied spaces, with the exhaust pointed away.
- Running extension cords directly into your home to power indoor items is NOT RECOMMENDED. This increases the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning.
- If an extension cord running directly into your home is used, the operator assumes the risk of CO poisoning to people inside.
- Install a listed transfer switch as soon as possible if this or any generator will be used to restore power to your home.
