III. Operation Instructions
1. Changing Heating Element
Follow these steps to replace the heating element:
- (1-1): Insert the soldering iron tip into the V-shaped groove.
- (1-2): Pull the soldering iron to separate the heating element.
- (1-3): Attach the new heating element.
- (1-4): Place the soldering iron tip into the hole and apply gentle pressure to secure it.
⚠️ WARNING: When replacing the heating element during operation (when heated), DO NOT touch the heating element or the groove to avoid potential burn injuries. DO NOT place an operational heating element on the heating element groove for an extended period.
2. Connect Soldering Iron and Holder
Connect the soldering iron and place it into the soldering iron holder.
3. Solder Wire Dispenser Installation
Place the solder wire dispenser on the left side of the station, aligning it with the installation hole. Secure both the dispenser and the station, ensuring the dispenser is parallel with the station. Install and tighten the screw.
4. Power On and Initial Heating
Connect the station to a power socket and turn ON the power switch. The soldering station's heating element will begin heating, and the operation indicator will turn ON. It is ready for use when the temperature stabilizes.
CAUTION: Upon the first use, set the temperature to 250°C/482°F. When the iron is just hot enough to melt solder, coat the soldering iron tip with a layer of solder (rosin core solder is recommended), then set the temperature to your desired level.
5. Operation Completion and Storage
When the operation is complete, use a damped sponge or metal wool ball to clean residues off the soldering iron tip. Tin the tip with a new layer of solder. Place the soldering iron back into the holder. Turn OFF the power switch and DISCONNECT the power cord if the station is not in use for an extended period.
6. Digital Temperature Calibration
Temperature discrepancies may occur due to environmental changes or component replacement. This function corrects discrepancies to improve work efficiency and extend the soldering iron's lifespan.
- 6.1: When the station's temperature is stable, press and hold CH1 and CH2 buttons for approximately 2 seconds. The display will show "CAL" and the set temperature (Illustration 6.1-1).
- 6.2: Turn the function knob to enter the measured temperature (Illustration 6.1-2).
- 6.3: Press the function knob to confirm. The system will automatically calibrate the temperature and exit (Illustration 6.1-3).
7. Buzzer Prompt
This feature allows you to enable or disable the buzzer.
- 7.1: Turn ON the power switch, press and hold the function knob for approximately 2 seconds. The display will show "bON" (buzzer ON) or "bOF" (buzzer OFF) (Illustration 7.1-1).
- 7.2: Turn the function knob to toggle the buzzer ON or OFF.
- 7.3: Press the function knob twice to save settings and exit.
8. Fahrenheit/Celsius Temperature Display
Switch between Fahrenheit and Celsius temperature displays.
- 8.1: Turn ON the power switch. Press and hold the function knob for approximately 2 seconds. The display will show "bON" or "bOF".
- 8.2: Press the function knob again. The display will show "C" or "F" (Illustration 8.2-1).
- 8.3: Turn the function knob to select Celsius or Fahrenheit.
- 8.4: Press the function knob to save and exit.
9. Memory Channels (CH1/CH2/CH3/CH4)
Preset temperature configurations for different soldering applications.
- 9.1: Press a memory channel button (CH1/CH2/CH3/CH4).
- 9.2: Turn the function knob to set the desired temperature. Wait approximately 4 seconds for the setting to complete.
10. Automatic Shut-down
The soldering iron enters sleep mode when placed in the holder. If the iron is not picked up within approximately 30 minutes, the station will automatically shut off. Pick up the soldering iron to restart.
11. Sleep Mode
This function extends heating element lifespan, conserves energy, and protects the environment.
When the soldering iron is placed back into the holder, it enters sleep mode. If the set temperature is 200°C/392°F or higher, the temperature cools to 200°C/392°F. If the set temperature is below 200°C/392°F, the temperature remains unchanged. Pick up the soldering iron to wake the station.
IV. Maintenance & Precautions
-
Tip Oxidation: If oxidation forms on the tip, it may seem like it's not heating properly. This is a misconception; the heating element and tip are still hot. Do NOT increase the temperature. Instead, use a metal wool ball to remove oxidation:
- A. Set temperature to 300°C (572°F).
- B. Once stable, gently rub the tip inside the metal wool ball.
- C. Apply solder while rubbing until the tip is completely coated. If severely oxidized, replace the tip.
- DO NOT use metal files to remove oxidation. If the tip deforms or rusts, replace it.
- DO NOT apply excessive force on the soldering tip during soldering. This will not improve heat transfer but will damage the tip.
- Clean the soldering iron tip after use and tin it with a new layer of solder to prevent oxidation.
V. Troubleshooting
This is an indication that the station's sensor module is faulty. You need to replace the heating element (the heating element and the sensor modules). Or, the soldering iron/heating element is not connected.
Environmental Compliance
This product should not be disposed of with household waste. In accordance with the European directive 2012/19/EU, electronic equipment at the end of its life must be collected and returned to an authorized recycling facility.
