Honeywell Portable Air Conditioner User Manual
Model Series: MN09, MN10, MN12, MN13
User Tips
Honeywell Portable Air Conditioners are ideal for spot cooling. The compressor, condenser, and evaporator are housed in a compact unit. The air is filtered, dehumidified, and cooled while a flexible air outlet hose sends heat outside. The air conditioner includes a window venting kit, requiring no permanent installation. The unit is easy to move from room to room, offering a flexible air conditioning solution.
Auto Evaporation System: The unit automatically evaporates condensate through the air outlet hose. Drainage is typically not needed unless in very humid conditions. Read and follow instructions carefully.
For optimal efficiency, keep doors and windows closed when using the air conditioner or dehumidifier. If using the fan function only, an open window can improve air circulation.
Cooling and Dehumidifying Operation
Fan Operation
Important: Before installing, place the unit UPRIGHT for 1 hour before use to allow the refrigerant to stabilize. Manually adjust the air vent at the top of the unit to direct airflow. Follow installation instructions and plug the unit into a properly grounded circuit. DO NOT use an extension cord.

Follow these instructions for successful installation. Contact Customer Support for assistance.
Installation Kit Components:
- 1 Set: Window Bracket Kit
- 1 Piece: Window Bracket Panel Adapter
- 2 Pieces: Plastic Pin
- 1 Piece: Hose Connector
- 1 Piece: Plastic Hose
Installation Steps:
- Install the plastic hose with the window bracket adapter and hose connector on both ends, ensuring a proper fit.
- Adjust the window bracket to your window's width or height and insert plastic pins to secure it. Ensure the hole for the plastic hose is not blocked.
- Connect the plastic hose to the hose connector on the back of the unit. Push until it locks into place.
- Connect the window bracket to the opposite end of the plastic hose. Ensure all connections are tight and properly installed.
- Connect the window bracket to the window.
- The Portable Air Conditioner is now ready to use.
Important Installation Notes:
- The exhaust hose length is specific; do not replace or lengthen it, as this can cause malfunction.
- The supplied exhaust hose has a 5-inch (12.7cm) diameter and extends from 12 to 47 inches (30cm to 120cm).
- Do not bend the exhaust hose excessively, as this blocks airflow and can cause the unit to malfunction or shut off.
- Ensure the back of the unit is at least 50 cm (20 inches) from the wall. Do not place the unit in front of curtains or drapes, as this obstructs airflow.
- Any warranties may be voided if an extension hose is added or installation differs from instructions without consultation. Contact Customer Support for installation help.
Use & Operation
Touch Screen Control Panel
1. Timer Control
2. Fan Speed Control
3. Timer / Temperature Set Controls
4. Mode Control
5. Power Control / Standby Mode
6. Warning Light (flashing)
Power Control:
Turns the unit on and off. When plugged in, the button lights up, indicating Standby Mode.
Mode Control:
Offers settings for Cool, Dehumidify, Fan, and Heater* (*on applicable models). An indicator light shows the current setting.
- Cooling Mode: Operates as an air conditioner. Adjust fan speed and temperature (16°C-32°C / 61°F-89°F).
- Heating Mode*: Activated when ambient temperature is below 25°C (77°F). Set temperature between 16°C-25°C (61°F-77°F). Exhaust hoses must vent outside.
- Dehumidifying Mode: Removes moisture from the air without full cooling. Fan speed is adjustable if room temperature is above 25°C (77°F); otherwise, it's preset to LOW. For primary dehumidifier use, do not connect the exhaust hose and allow warm air to return to the room. Continuous drainage is recommended.
- Fan Mode: Circulates air without cooling.
Fan Speed Control:
Offers 3 settings: High, Medium, and Low.
Timer Control:
- Auto Turn Off: While running, set the desired hours of operation (1-24 hours). The unit will turn off automatically.
- Auto Turn On: When the unit is in standby mode, set the desired hours until the unit automatically starts.
Temperature / Timer Set Controls:
- Used for adjusting the timer and thermostat.
- The default display shows room temperature.
- In cooling mode, pressing the temperature adjustment buttons displays and allows setting the temperature. The display reverts to room temperature after 10 seconds. Temperature is only adjustable in cool mode. Time is adjustable between 1-24 hours.
- Pressing both temperature set buttons simultaneously toggles the display between Celsius and Fahrenheit.
Warning Light:
If the internal water tank is full, the Power Control light will flash, and the unit will not operate until drained. Refer to Water Condensation Drainage.
Wait 3 minutes before switching the air conditioner back on after turning it off.
Remote Control
The remote control functions mirror the touch screen control panel. All key functions are accessible.
- Power Control: ON / OFF

- Temperature / Timer Set: Adjust timer and temperature. Temperature adjustable in cool mode (1-24 hours).
- Mode Control: Cycles through Cool, Dehumidify, Heater*, Fan. (*Applicable for models with Heating feature only.)
Battery Installation:
Remove the back cover and insert two AAA batteries, observing polarity markings.
Caution: Use only two AAA or IEC R03 1.5V batteries. Remove batteries if the remote is unused for a month or longer. Replace all batteries simultaneously; do not mix old and new batteries. Dispose of used batteries properly.

Appliance Maintenance:
- Turn off the appliance before disconnecting power.
- Clean the appliance with a soft, dry cloth.
Air Filter Maintenance:
Clean the air filter every two weeks:
- Turn off the appliance and remove the air filter.
- Rinse in lukewarm water. Dry in a shaded, cool place before reinstalling.
End of Season Storage & Maintenance:
- Drain any remaining condensate water by removing the lower drain plug and using a shallow pan. Replace the plug when finished.
- To dry excess moisture, run the unit in Fan only mode for 30 minutes before storing.
- Turn off and unplug the air conditioner.

Continuous Draining (Dehumidifier Mode):
Recommended for primary dehumidifier use:
- Unplug the unit.
- Remove the upper drain plug (have a pan ready for residual water).
- Connect a 3/4" hose or standard garden hose (not included) to the drain connector.
- Drain water continuously into a floor drain or sink.
- Turn the unit on.
Troubleshooting Guide
Problem: Unit does not start
- Possible Cause: No power; remote batteries need replacement; power cord not plugged in; LCDI plug tripped (USA/Canada/Mexico).
- Solution: Check power; replace remote batteries; reconnect power cord; reset LCDI plug (contact support if persists).
Problem: Runs a short while only
- Possible Cause: Thermostat setting too close to room temperature; air outlet blocked; tight bends in exhaust hose.
