SIRIO SCO-868-4 & SCO-868-6 Base Station Antennas

Installation Manual for ISM 868 band antennas

Product Overview

This document provides installation instructions and technical specifications for the SIRIO SCO-868-4 and SCO-868-6 base station antennas, designed for the 868 MHz ISM band.

Performance Data

Typical S.W.R. Response

The S.W.R. (Standing Wave Ratio) response graphs illustrate the antenna's performance across frequencies. For both the SCO-868-4 and SCO-868-6 models, the X-axis represents frequency in MHz (ranging from 829 to 909 MHz), and the Y-axis represents SWR (ranging from 1.0 to 3.0). A key band, labeled "868-890 MHz band", is highlighted, showing that the SWR remains below 1.5 within this range, indicating efficient power transfer.

Typical Radiation Pattern at 868 MHz

The radiation pattern diagrams, shown on a logarithmic scale, depict the antenna's directional characteristics at 868 MHz. The pattern is largely omnidirectional in the horizontal plane (indicated by 360° coverage in specifications) and shows a specific vertical distribution of signal strength, with lobes and nulls.

Typical Gain Diagram vs Frequency

These graphs illustrate the antenna's gain in dBi (decibels relative to an isotropic radiator) across a range of frequencies. The X-axis displays frequency in MHz (from 829 to 909 MHz), and the Y-axis shows the gain in dBi. The SCO-868-4 model exhibits a peak gain of approximately 4.3 dBi, while the SCO-868-6 model achieves a higher peak gain of around 6.0 to 6.5 dBi.

Antenna Visuals

Visual representations of the SIRIO SCO-868-4 and SCO-868-6 antennas are provided. The SCO-868-4 is shown with an N-male connector, suitable for direct router installation. The SCO-868-6 is depicted with its base. Close-up views of various connector types, including N-type and SMA, are also visible, illustrating the different connection options available.

Mounting Instructions

Detailed instructions are provided for mounting the antennas. Two primary installation types are covered:

SCO 868-4 N-m: Direct Router Installation

This section shows a visual guide for connecting the SCO-868-4 antenna with an N-male connector directly to a router or similar device. The diagram illustrates the antenna and its connector.

M-3 Mast & Wall Installation (SCO-868-4/SCO-868-6 w/cable)

Instructions for mounting the antennas using the M-3 bracket are detailed. This includes mast installation, where the bracket attaches to poles with a diameter of 35-42 mm (approximately 1.4-1.65 inches) using a U-bolt. Wall mounting is also shown, requiring user-supplied screws. Diagrams illustrate the process, emphasizing the need to secure the bracket properly. The "REMARK! LOCK WELL" callouts indicate points requiring secure fastening.

M-3 Bracket Part List

The M-3 bracket assembly includes the following components:

  • 2 x M6 U-bolt
  • 4 x M6 Exagonal nut
  • 4 x M6 Flat washer
  • 4 x M6 Spring lock washer
  • 1 x Steel Bracket "M-3"

Materials: Galvanized steel. Dimensions: 195 x 60 x 70 mm. Weight: 420 g. Re-order part number: P/N 2503604.00.
