Attach Top Channel

  1. Place the top channel on top of the air conditioner cabinet, aligning the holes.
  2. Use three #10 X 1/4" pan-head Phillips thread cutting screws to attach the top channel.

  2. Insert the top and bottom of the right-hand curtain housing into the top and bottom curtain channels on the air conditioner.
  3. Slide the curtain housing into the curtain guides.
  4. Repeat for the left-hand curtain.

Attach Foam Adhesive Seal

Install Cabinet into Window

  1. Check that the lower rail of the cabinet is against the back side of the window sill. Maintain a firm hold on the cabinet.
  2. Lower the window sash to hold the cabinet in place.
  3. Measure the distance between the right side of the cabinet and the inside of the window channel. Repeat for the left side. Adjust the cabinet so the distance is the same on both sides.
  4. Attach the cabinet to the window:
    • For wooden windows: Drill starter holes and attach the cabinet with screws (#10 x 1/2" pan-head Phillips and #10 X 3/4" or 1/2" round-head screws).
    • For Vinyl-Clad windows: Drill a hole and attach the cabinet with a #10 x 3/4" or 1/2" round-head Phillips screw. Place safety locks into the bottom holes and drive locking screws through them.
  5. Check that the air conditioner cabinet is tilted back approximately 1/8" to 1/2" (tilted about 3° to 4° downward to the outside) to allow for proper water drainage.

Attach Side Curtains to Window Frame

  1. Extend the side curtains against the window frame.
  2. Drill holes and drive locking screws through the side curtains into the window frame/sill.
  3. Trim the weather seal to the proper length, peel off the backing, and plug any gaps.

  7. Attach the bottom front of the panel with the front panel screws.
  8. Plug into a grounded 3-prong outlet.
  9. Press RESET on the power supply cord.

Through-the-Wall Cabinet Installation

Option 1 - Wood, Metal, or Plastic Molding:

The wood frame should line up with the inside wall.

Option 2 - Plastered Wall with No Molding:

If the plastered wall is to be flush with the cabinet, the wood frame must be set 1/2" (13 mm) into the inside wall.

Install Wood Frame

  1. Construct the wood frame according to the provided dimensions.
  2. Measure the outside width and height of the frame to determine wall opening dimensions.
  3. Cut the opening through the wall.
  4. Apply wood preservative to the exposed surface of the frame.
  5. Insert the frame into the wall opening, ensuring it is square and level.
  6. Attach the frame securely to the wall.

NOTE: Dimension for depth depends on wall thickness and molding type. Do not block louvers. Use 1" or thicker lumber for the wood frame.

Install Cabinet into Wood Frame

  1. Insert the cabinet into the framed wall opening. The top of the cabinet should extend 3/4" (19.1 mm) into the room.
  2. Use a level to check that the cabinet is level side to side.
  3. Check that the air conditioner cabinet is tilted to the outside for water drainage (at least half-a-bubble towards the rear).
  4. Use insulation to seal the opening between the cabinet and the frame.
  5. Use existing holes in the cabinet sides and top, and seven #10 X 1" wood screws to attach the cabinet to the frame.
  6. Caulk all outside wall openings around the cabinet.

NOTE: Do not overtighten screws, as this can distort the cabinet and affect the air seal.

Complete Installation

  1. Insert the air conditioner into the cabinet.
  2. Insert the front tabs of the front panel into the top of the cabinet and swing the front into place.
  3. Attach the bottom front of the panel with the front panel screws.
  4. Plug into a grounded 3-prong outlet.
  5. Press RESET on the power supply cord.

NOTE: Handle the air conditioner gently. For through-the-wall installations, install molding around the room side of the cabinet if needed.
