Imou Cell 2 Quick Start Guide
1. Download the Imou Life App
Option 1: Search "Imoulife" App from the App Store or Google Play.
Option 2: Scan the QR code to install the Imou Life App.
System Requirements:
- For iOS, the system version should be 9.0 or above.
- For Android, the system version should be 5.0 or above.
2. Create an ImouLife account
- Click "Sign Up".
- Select your region.
- Enter your email address and set a password.
- Enter the verification code sent via email from Imou.
Note: Email verification codes may be blocked by spam filters. Please check your trash box if you do not receive it.
3. Add the camera to your Imou account
Option 1: Scan the QR code located on the back of the camera.
Option 2: Add the camera manually by inputting the serial number.
Warm Notes:
- Place your smartphone and camera within 30 cm of the router.
- Keep your smartphone 10-15 cm from the camera when scanning the QR code.
The camera label typically includes the model number (e.g., IPC-848LP), power requirements (e.g., 5V 2A), and a QR code for setup.
4. Remove the cover and insert the battery
- Twist to remove the cover from the bottom of the camera.
- Ensure the arrow on the battery faces up. Insert the battery into the correct slot; you should hear a click sound.
5. Power on the camera
- Press the reset button for 2-3 seconds until the LED turns green.
- Wait for the LED to flash green, then tap "Next".
- Align the cover to the entrance.
- Push and twist the cover into the lock position.
If the light is not flashing green, consult the troubleshooting section or contact support.
6. Connect to the device DAP hotspot
- Connect your mobile phone to the device's DAP hotspot.
- Once connected, select your home Wi-Fi network on the next screen.
Troubleshooting DAP hotspot connection: If you cannot connect, go to your mobile phone's WLAN settings and manually connect to the device's DAP hotspot. The password is an 8-digit safety code found on the back of the camera. After connecting, return to the app.
Note: The DAP hotspot does not provide internet access; it is solely for device configuration.
Available Wi-Fi networks will be listed, including options like "IMOU-TEST 110414", "TEST-110414_Wi-Fi5", and others.
7. Connect to Imou cloud server
- Enter your home Wi-Fi password correctly and tap "Next". The camera will automatically connect to the Imou cloud server.
- The device will show as connecting to the cloud and then adding to your account.
- Once the device is added successfully, you can name your device (e.g., "Cell 2-F713").
- Configure settings such as location (Front Door, Backyard, Garage, Kitchen, Living Room, Basement), Time Zone, and DST.
For security, it is recommended to change the device's default password.
