GameBall Quick Start Guide

Welcome to GameBall! This guide will help you get started with your new trackball mouse.

Getting Started

To get the most out of GameBall, we highly recommend you watch our “Getting Started” video on our YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/GameBallTrackball

GameBall will ship in a right-handed configuration. To change this, press and hold the Settings button (5) for 3 seconds. The RGB lighting will blink when switched. Follow the same procedure to switch back.

Simply plug it into an open USB port and you are ready to go. No special driver needed.

Compatibility

Features and Settings

RGB Lighting: Red Green Blue color lighting. Tap to cycle color and light settings.

Handedness Configuration: Default right-handed. Reverse for left-handed by holding the Settings button (5) for 3 seconds.

Sensitivity Adjustment: To adjust the native sensitivity level, press and hold the Precision button (9) for 3 seconds. The RGB lights will blink to indicate changes. CPI = Counts Per Inch (Cursor sensitivity).

Precision Mode: A single click of the Precision button (9) will reduce the sensitivity by 1/3. Click again to return to normal.

Button Swapping:

Scrolling Behavior: By default, scroll pads are disabled while using the ball, and the ball is disabled while scrolling. To have both always active, hold buttons 1 and 9 (middle buttons) down for 5 seconds. RGB lights flash once for default, twice when both are always active.

Polling Rate Adjustment: To toggle between 1000Hz (default) and 250Hz, press and hold the RGB button (10) for 20 seconds. RGB lights flash once for 1000Hz, twice for 250Hz. Lowering to 250Hz is suggested for users experiencing sluggish cursor movements.

Scrolling Mode: The Settings button (5) alternates between continuous (default) and linear scrolling modes. A single press switches modes. RGB lights flash once for Continuous mode, twice for Linear Scrolling.

Troubleshooting

  1. Unplug, then replug your GameBall.
  2. Reboot your computer.
  3. Test your GameBall on another USB port or computer.
  4. Remove the ball and clean the area around the bearings of dirt and debris.

Maintenance & Safety

Cleaning: Once a month, or more based on use, remove the ball and clean the three support bearings with a dry cloth or cotton swab. The exterior can be cleaned with a damp cloth. Do not use soap, harsh cleaning agents, grease, or oils.

Environment: Keep GameBall away from liquid, high humidity, and moisture. Operate within the temperature range of 0°C (32°F) to 40°C (104°F).

Servicing: Do not attempt to disassemble or service the device yourself, as this will void your warranty.

Ergonomics: Follow standard ergonomic best practices. Take breaks and avoid long periods of continued use.

Warranty & Liability

Warranty: GameBall is warranted against defects in material and workmanship under normal use for one year from the original date of purchase. Blue Sun Innovations will, at its option, repair or replace the defective unit. This warranty is nontransferable and limited to the original purchaser and the country of purchase, except where prohibited by law.

Limitations: This Limited Warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, cosmetic damage, or damage from misuse, abuse, negligence, unauthorized modifications, external causes (accidents, acts of God, liquid contact, fire, earthquake).

Liability: Blue Sun Innovations shall not be liable for any special, incidental, or consequential damages. In no event will Blue Sun Innovations’ entire liability exceed the purchase price of this product.
