CPU Installation
Follow these steps to install the CPU:
- Ensure all power cables are disconnected before CPU installation.
- Align the CPU with the socket and gently place it in. Do not force the CPU into the socket.
- Secure the CPU with the retention mechanism.
- Apply thermal interface material to the CPU and heatsink if necessary before installing the heatsink and fan.
System Memory Installation
Install DDR4 DIMM modules into the DIMM slots:
- Open the retention clips on the DIMM slots.
- Align the DIMM with the slot and press down firmly until the clips lock into place.
- Ensure modules are installed in the correct slots for dual-channel configuration. Refer to the manual for recommended memory configurations.

BIOS Support
Understanding BIOS
The ASUS UEFI BIOS is a Unified Extensible Firmware Interface that provides a user-friendly interface for system configuration. It supports keyboard and mouse input.
BIOS Setup Program
Use BIOS Setup to update BIOS or configure system parameters. Access BIOS Setup by pressing
ASUS EZ Flash 3
ASUS EZ Flash 3 allows BIOS updates without an operating system. Update BIOS via USB flash drive formatted with FAT32/16.
ASUS CrashFree BIOS 3
This utility automatically recovers the BIOS file if it becomes corrupted during an update. Recovery can be done using a USB flash drive containing the BIOS file.
RAID Configurations
The motherboard supports RAID 0, RAID1, and RAID10 configurations. Refer to the RAID Configuration Guide for detailed information.
- RAID 0 (Data striping): Optimizes read/write performance by striping data across two drives. Requires two new, identical hard drives.
- RAID 1 (Data mirroring): Mirrors data from one drive to another for redundancy. If one drive fails, the system uses the surviving drive. Requires two new drives or one existing and one new drive of the same or larger size.
- RAID 10: Combines data striping and mirroring for improved performance and redundancy. Requires four new drives or one existing and three new drives.
