Recycling and WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment)
This section details MEATER's compliance with WEEE disposal regulations.
General Principle: Electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) contains materials that can be harmful if not disposed of correctly. Products marked with a crossed-out bin symbol ?️ must not be disposed of with unsorted household waste but collected separately.
Country-Specific Information:
Austria:
EU law implemented nationally ensures free return of EEE from private households to public collection points. Separate collection prevents negative environmental impacts from hazardous components. For collection points, visit: https://secure.umweltbundesamt.at/eras/registerabfrageEAGSammelstelleSearch.do. All household EEE is marked with a crossed-out bin symbol.
Germany:
Packaging Register Lucid: DE1636919034729
Battery Registration: DE99905415
Information for private households regarding the ElektroG (Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act):
- Separate Collection of Old Equipment: Old equipment must not be disposed of in household waste but in special collection and return systems.
- Batteries and Accumulators, and Lamps: Batteries, accumulators, and lamps should generally be separated from old equipment before disposal, unless the equipment is prepared for reuse.
- Return Options: Private households can return old equipment free of charge to public collection points or manufacturer/distributor return points. Retailers with significant sales areas for EEE or food stores meeting certain criteria are obliged to take back old equipment, even without a new purchase for small items (under 25cm).
- Data Protection: Users are responsible for deleting personal data from old devices before disposal.
- Symbol Meaning: The crossed-out bin symbol ?️ indicates separate collection at the end of the product's life.
Denmark:
EEE contains potentially hazardous materials. Products marked with a crossed-out bin symbol ?️ must be collected separately from household waste. Municipalities provide collection schemes at recycling stations or other collection points. Users must use these schemes to reduce environmental impact and increase recycling opportunities.
Ireland:
PRL Number: 03364WB
Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and waste batteries are taken back free of charge on a like-for-like basis. Local authorities also accept household WEEE and small batteries free of charge. All WEEE and waste batteries must be recycled and not placed in household bins.
