Mechanical Structures and Installations

The controller features a compact design with dimensions of 179.00 mm (length) x 56.00 mm (width) x 30.00 mm (height).

Components:

• Power Input (+/-): Terminals for power connection.
• Push switch common: Terminal for push switch connection.
• Push switch: Terminal for push switch connection.
• Installation rack: Mounting provision.
• Match Key: Button for pairing and configuration.
• LED indicator: Status indicator light.
• DIP switch: For selecting the light type.

The DIP switch allows selection of the light type (e.g., DIM, CCT, RGB, RGBW, RGB+CCT).

System Wiring

The system wiring illustrates the connectivity between a mobile device, WiFi router, Tuya Cloud, and the LED controller. It shows how a mobile phone connects via WiFi to a router, which then communicates with the Tuya Cloud. The Tuya Cloud enables control via Amazon Echo voice commands. The V5-L(WT) controller can be connected wirelessly or via a wired connection. Optional RF remotes can also be used to control the system.

The diagram depicts the flow for 3G/4G/5G WiFi, Mobile Phone, WiFi Router, Tuya Cloud, Amazon Echo, and optional RF Remotes (Panel RF Remote, DIM, CCT, RGB, RGBW, RGB+CCT). It shows the V5-L(WT) controller connecting to various LED strips (RGB+CCT, RGBW, RGB, Dual Color CCT, Single Color) via wired connections.

Notes:

1. The specified distances (e.g., 15m, 30m) are for spacious environments without obstacles. Actual test distances may vary.
2. Ensure your WiFi router operates on the 2.4GHz band; 5GHz is not supported. Do not hide your router network.
3. Maintain a close distance between the V5-L(WT) devices and the router for optimal WiFi signal strength.

Wiring Diagrams

The following diagrams illustrate the wiring connections for different LED strip types using the V5-L(WT) controller.

For RGB+CCT

Connects to a Power Supply (12-48VDC Constant Voltage, AC100-240V input), a Push Switch, and an RGB+CCT LED strip. An optional RGB+CCT remote can also be paired.

For RGBW

Connects to a Power Supply (12-48VDC Constant Voltage, AC100-240V input), a Push Switch, and an RGBW LED strip. An optional RGBW remote can also be paired.

For RGB

Connects to a Power Supply (12-48VDC Constant Voltage, AC100-240V input), a Push Switch, and an RGB LED strip. An optional RGB remote can also be paired.

For Dual Color CCT

Connects to a Power Supply (12-48VDC Constant Voltage, AC100-240V input), a Push Switch, and a Dual Color LED strip. An optional CCT remote can also be paired.

For Single Color

Connects to a Power Supply (12-48VDC Constant Voltage, AC100-240V input), a Push Switch, and a Single Color LED strip. An optional Dimming remote can also be paired.

Tuya APP Network Connection

To connect to the Tuya APP:

• Smart Config Mode: Press and hold the Match key for 2 seconds, or quickly press the Match key twice. The purple LED indicator will flash rapidly, and the output LED will flash 10 times. This clears previous network connections and enters Smart Config mode.
• AP Config Mode: Press and hold the Match key for 5 seconds. The purple LED indicator will flash slowly. This clears previous network connections and enters AP Config mode. If Smart Config fails, try AP Config.
• Reset for Smart Config: Repeat powering the device on and off 5 consecutive times. This clears previous network connections and enters Smart Config mode, indicated by the output LED flashing 10 times.

Successful Connection: Upon successful Tuya APP network connection, the RUN LED indicator will stop flashing purple and display the color corresponding to the configured light type (White for DIM, Yellow for CCT, Red for RGB, Green for RGBW, Blue for RGB+CCT). You can then find the device (e.g., RGB+CCT, DIM, CCT, RGB, or RGBW) in the Tuya APP.

Tuya APP Interface

The Tuya APP provides various control interfaces:

• Scene Interface:
  • Scenes 1-4 are static colors, editable for all light types.
  • Scenes 5-8 are dynamic modes for RGB, RGBW, and RGB+CCT types, including effects like green fade in/out, RGB jump, 6-color jump, and 6-color smooth.
• Music, Timer, Schedule:
  • Music Play: Utilizes the smartphone's music player or microphone as the music signal input.
  • Timer: Allows setting timers to turn the light on or off within the next 24 hours.
  • Schedule: Enables adding multiple timers to control light on/off at different times.
• White Interface (for DIM type): Touch the brightness slider to adjust brightness.
• Color Interface (for RGB or RGBW type): Touch the brightness slider to adjust overall brightness. For RGB, touch the brightness slider to get RGB mixed white first, then adjust white brightness. For RGBW, touch the brightness slider to adjust the white channel brightness.
• Color Temperature Interface (for CCT type): Touch the color wheel to adjust color temperature. Touch the brightness slider to adjust brightness.
• Color Interface (for RGB+CCT type): Touch the color wheel to adjust static RGB color. The WW/CW channels will turn off automatically. Touch the brightness slider to adjust color brightness. Touch the saturation slider to adjust color saturation, creating a gradient from the current color to white (RGB mixed).
• Color Temperature Interface (for RGB+CCT type): Touch the color wheel to adjust color temperature. The RGB channels will turn off automatically. Touch the brightness slider to adjust white brightness.

V5-L(WT) Remote Control (Optional)

Users can choose from two methods to match or delete remote controls:

Using the V5-L(WT)'s Match Key

• Match: Short press the Match key on the V5-L(WT). Immediately press the ON/OFF key (for single zone remotes) or the zone key (for multiple zone remotes) on the remote. The LED indicator flashing rapidly indicates a successful match.
• Delete: Press and hold the Match key on the V5-L(WT) for 10 seconds. The LED indicator flashing rapidly indicates that all matched remotes have been deleted.

Using Power Restart

• Match: Switch off the V5-L(WT) power, then switch it back on. Repeat this cycle. Immediately short press the ON/OFF key (single zone remote) or zone key (multiple zone remote) 3 times on the remote. The light blinking 3 times indicates a successful match.
• Delete: Switch off the V5-L(WT) power, then switch it back on. Repeat this cycle. Immediately short press the ON/OFF key (single zone remote) or zone key (multiple zone remote) 5 times on the remote. The light blinking 5 times indicates that all matched remotes have been deleted.

V5-L(WT) Work as WiFi-RF Converter

The V5-L(WT) can function as a WiFi-RF converter to match RF LED controllers or dimming drivers. Users can choose from two methods:

Using the Controller's Match Key

• Match: Short press the Match key on the controller. Immediately press the ON/OFF key in the Tuya APP. The LED indicator flashing rapidly indicates a successful match.
• Delete: Press and hold the Match key on the controller for 5 seconds. The LED indicator flashing rapidly indicates that the match has been deleted.

Using Power Restart

• Match: Switch off the controller's power, then switch it back on. Repeat this cycle. Immediately short press the ON/OFF key 3 times in the Tuya APP. The light blinking 3 times indicates a successful match.
• Delete: Switch off the controller's power, then switch it back on. Repeat this cycle. Immediately short press the ON/OFF key 5 times in the Tuya APP. The light blinking 5 times indicates that the match has been deleted.

PWM Frequency Setting

To set the PWM frequency:

1. With the power off, select the desired PWM frequency using the DIP switch.
2. Press and hold the MATCH key.
3. Power up the controller while still holding the MATCH key.
4. The RUN LED indicator will flash white twice, confirming successful PWM frequency setting.

Available PWM frequencies are 500Hz, 2000Hz, 8000Hz, and 16000Hz. Higher frequencies result in lower output current and higher power noise but are more suitable for camera applications to avoid flickering.

Push Dim

The Push Dim function allows control via a standard push switch. The behavior depends on the LED type and the type of switch action (Click, Double Click, Long Press).

Note on Dual Color: Long press (>1s) from OFF for Dual Color controls Dimming UP/DOWN. Long press (>1s) from ON for Dual Color controls Color temperature UP/DOWN (turn off and on to return dimming).

Color and Temperature Interface

The Tuya APP provides intuitive interfaces for controlling different LED types:

• White Interface (for DIM type):

  Touch the brightness slider to adjust brightness.

• Color Interface (for RGB or RGBW type):

  Touch the brightness slider to adjust overall brightness. For RGB, touch the brightness slider to get RGB mixed white first, then adjust white brightness. For RGBW, touch the brightness slider to adjust the white channel brightness.

• Color Temperature Interface (for CCT type):

  Touch the color wheel to adjust color temperature. Touch the brightness slider to adjust brightness.

Color Rotation Speed (for RGB/RGBW)

The speed of color rotation can be selected:

• 10 flash/s: 6 seconds for color rotation.
• 5 flash/s: 30 seconds for color rotation.
• 2 flash/s: 1 minute for color rotation.
• 1 flash/s: 6 minutes for color rotation.
