This guide provides comprehensive instructions for licensing and installing Native Instruments downloadable software purchased from Thomann. Customers will receive an activation code via email or on a small card included in the product box. This code is essential for redeeming the software license on the manufacturer's website.

Typically, the software manufacturer's homepage requires customers to set up their own customer account to personally assign the license.

Step-by-Step Installation Process

Step 1: Create or Access Your Customer Account

Navigate to the Native Instruments website and click on the head symbol (user icon) located at the top right corner.

If new, register to create a new "Native ID". Existing users can log in. This account manages personal details, product offers, serial numbers, order history, updates, and musical profile.

Step 2: Download and Install Native Access

Download the "Native Access" program from the following address and proceed with its installation:

Native Access is a tool designed for downloading and activating all Native Instruments software products, enabling efficient management of installations, file path selections, and update notifications.

Step 3: Register Your Product (Add a Serial)

Upon the first launch of Native Access, log in using your customer account credentials. Alternatively, a new customer account can be created through the program itself.

Within Native Access, locate and click on "ADD A SERIAL" (usually found at the top left) to enter your activation code. This action registers your purchased product.

The activation code is typically found on a small card included in the product box received from Thomann. For hardware purchases, such as controllers, the device's serial number will also be on a card in its packaging.

After entering the code, click the blue "ADD SERIAL" button (bottom right in the serial entry window) to license your product in your customer account with the manufacturer.

Managing Installations and Preferences

In Native Access, users can configure preferences, including setting the standard path for installing instrument libraries. This is accessible under the "Preferences" section.

Many instruments require significant storage space (several gigabytes). It is highly recommended to install a separate, large data hard drive on the computer and select it as the default download destination to optimize performance and storage.

The "Not Installed" section in Native Access lists all products not yet installed on the computer. An "Install" button next to each product allows installation to the chosen path. To conserve space, users can also choose to install only specific instruments as needed.

For KOMPLETE purchases from Thomann, a USB flash drive (e.g., with KOMPLETE SELECT) containing installation files may be included. Connecting this drive via USB allows Native Access to automatically recognize it, enabling direct installation of the library without lengthy internet downloads.

To uninstall an application, use the regular uninstaller provided by the operating system.
