Important Safety Instructions
Please read and follow all instructions carefully before using the Adler AD 1264 electric kettle to ensure safe operation and prevent damage.
General Safety Precautions:
- This appliance is intended for household use only.
- Ensure the kettle is connected to a power supply matching the specifications (220-240V ~50/60Hz).
- Supervise children closely when the kettle is in use. Do not allow children to play with the appliance.
- Never immerse the kettle, power cord, or plug in water or any other liquid.
- Avoid using the kettle outdoors or in damp environments.
- Regularly inspect the power cord for any signs of damage. If damaged, discontinue use and seek professional repair.
- Do not operate the kettle if it is damaged, has been dropped, or is malfunctioning. Do not attempt self-repair.
- Place the kettle on a stable, flat, and heat-resistant surface, away from direct heat sources like stoves or open flames.
- Keep the kettle away from flammable materials.
- Ensure the power cord does not hang over the edge of a table or counter, or come into contact with hot surfaces.
- Never leave the kettle plugged in and unattended.
- For added safety, consider installing a Residual Current Device (RCD) with a rating not exceeding 30mA in bathroom circuits. Consult a qualified electrician.
Safe Usage Practices:
- Do not fill the kettle above the MAX line or below the MIN line to prevent scalding or damage.
- Never switch on the kettle when it is empty, as this can damage the heating element.
- Ensure the filter is in place and the lid is closed for the automatic shut-off feature to function correctly.
- Do not open the lid while the water is boiling or immediately after boiling, as escaping steam can cause burns.
- Allow the kettle to cool for approximately 2 minutes before re-boiling if it has automatically switched off.
- The kettle is designed to automatically shut off when water boils or if it is switched on empty.
- Do not store water in the kettle after boiling. Pour the hot water into another container immediately.
- Do not leave boiled water in the kettle for longer than 10 minutes.
- Always use fresh water for each boiling cycle.
Operation
Before First Use:
To remove any residual manufacturing odors, fill the kettle with fresh water up to the MAX level, boil it, and discard the water. Repeat this process three times.
Using the Kettle:
- Fill the kettle with the desired amount of fresh water, ensuring the water level is between the MIN and MAX indicators.
- Place the kettle securely onto its swivel base.
- Plug the power cord into a suitable 220-240V ~50/60Hz power outlet. The indicator light (3) will illuminate.
- The kettle will automatically switch off once the water has reached boiling point.
- To stop the boiling process before completion, press the On/Off switch (2). The indicator light will turn off.
- Ensure the lid is closed during operation for the automatic shut-off mechanism to work correctly.
- If the kettle automatically switches off due to being empty or underfilled, wait for it to cool down before refilling and switching it back on.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Regular descaling is essential for maintaining the kettle's performance and longevity. Failure to descale may lead to damage and void the warranty.
- Periodically remove limescale deposits from the inside of the kettle using a suitable descaling agent.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals, or scouring pads, as these can damage the kettle's surface and markings.
- The kettle base should never be immersed in water. Clean it with a slightly damp cloth.
