Batteries

NOTE
- It may not be possible to play certain media in some cases due to the type of media, the condition of the recording, the recording method and how the files were created.
For USB devices:
- This unit does not guarantee connection with all USB devices.
- This unit does not support USB device charging.
- FAT and FAT32 file systems are supported.
Unit and Disc Care
Clean this unit with a soft, dry cloth.
- Never use alcohol, paint thinner or benzine to clean this unit.
- Before using chemically treated cloth, read the instructions that came with the cloth carefully.
- Cleaning of the lens is generally not necessary although this depends on the operating environment.
- Do not use commercially available lens cleaners as they may cause malfunction.
Clean discs
- Wipe with a damp cloth and then wipe dry.
Disc Handling Precautions
- Handle discs by the edges to avoid inadvertent scratches or fingerprints on the disc.
- Do not attach labels or stickers to discs.
- Do not use record cleaning sprays, benzine, thinner, static electricity prevention liquids or any other solvent.
- Do not use the following discs:
- Discs with exposed adhesive from removed stickers or labels (rented discs etc.).
- Discs that are badly warped or cracked.
- Irregularly shaped discs, such as heart shapes.
- The digital audio content side of a DualDisc does not meet the technical specifications of the Compact Disc Digital Audio (CD-DA) format so playback may not be possible.
Inserting the Batteries (for Remote Control)
Insert 2 AAA batteries (not supplied) into the battery compartment of the remote control before using it.
- Slide to remove the cover of the battery compartment.
- Insert the batteries with their poles (+ and -) matching those marks in the remote control's battery compartment.
- Slide back the cover of the battery compartment.
TIP:
To use the remote control, point it directly towards the remote control sensor on the front panel of the DVD player.
System Connections
Power source
Use the AC line cord provided for operation on AC power. Insert the AC cord plug into a standard 100-240V~ 50/60Hz AC outlet. If a static discharge occurs when touching the player and it fails to function, unplug the player from the AC outlet and plug it back in. The player should return to normal operation.
Connection Diagram Description: The diagram illustrates various connection points on the DVD player's rear panel and how they connect to a TV or Amplifier/Receiver. It shows AC power input, COAXIAL DIGITAL OUT, AUDIO (L/R) OUT, VIDEO OUT, and HDMI OUT. The TV has corresponding inputs for Composite (CVBS) Video, Audio L/R, and HDMI. An Amplifier/Receiver is shown with Coaxial Digital Audio Connection. Note: Connect only ONE of the video cables to your TV to avoid picture interference.
Video connection
Caution:
Do not plug in the AC power plug until you have finished making the system connections.
To connect to your TV with a video cable:
- Connect one of the VIDEO OUT jacks (HDMI, or composite) on your player to the corresponding VIDEO IN jack on the TV.
Audio connection
To connect to your TV with audio source:
- Connect the left and right AUDIO OUT jacks on the back of your player to the audio left and right in jacks on the TV using the supplied audio cables. (No need for the above audio connection in case of HDMI connection).
To connect a two-channel digital stereo or A/V receiver with multi-channel decoder:
- Connect your player's COAXIAL DIGITAL AUDIO OUT jack to the corresponding in jack on your amplifier. Use an coaxial digital audio cable (not supplied).

- Disc tray: When inserting a disc, ensure that its label side is facing the right way up.

Remote Control Guide
The remote control features various buttons for controlling the DVD player's functions.
- Standby/Power On switch ⑁: Press to switch the unit from on to standby mode or vice versa. In standby mode, the unit still consumes a small amount of power.
- OPEN/CLOSE ▲: Opens/closes the disc tray.
- DISC/USB: Switches to the USB mode / Returns to the disc mode.
- L/R: Use for VCD or CD discs. Press button to select left or right channel, or stereo.
- OSD: Press for information of the disc to display.
- MUTE ☒: Press to enable/disable the audio output.
- SUBTITLE □: Shows and selects different subtitle.
- COPY: Downloads music contents from loaded CD disc to inserted USB drive.
- AUDIO ⑁: Changes soundtracks.
- ANGLE ⑁: Switches the camera angle.
- ZOOM ⑁: Magnifies/shrinks the image up to four times the original size, scroll using ◄►▲▼.
- PROGRAM: Sets the playback order.
- Press ◄►▲▼ to select the item.
- Press 0 to 9 to specify the 2-digit order. e.g., 5: 05, 15: 15. To cancel: Press CLEAR.
- Press ◄►▲▼ to select Start, press OK to start programmed playback.
- Press STOP ■ twice to clear the whole program.
- N/P: Press to switch the TV system between NTSC and PAL.
- GO-TO: Specifies the point of time where you would like to start playback.
- CLEAR: Clear the input information.
- REPEAT: Plays all titles/tracks/albums or a single title/chapter/track/album/file repeatedly.
- A-B REPEAT: Specifies the parts you want to play repeatedly.
- During playback, press A-B REPEAT to specify starting point (point A).
- When you reach the ending point (point B), press it again.
- SLOW: Plays back at 1/2, 1/3, 1/4, or 1/7 of the original speed.
- FRAME ►‖: Plays Video frame by frame.
- SETUP ⚙: Enters or exits the system setup menu.
- MENU: Displays the menu.
- ◄►▲▼: Selects items, input position, etc. For moving the display position of enlarged images. For rotating JPEG images.
- OK: Confirms menu selection.
- RETURN ⑁: (DVD disc menu only). Returns to the previous display.
- SCAN ◄◄ ►►: Starts fast reverse or fast forward.
- PLAY/PAUSE ►‖: Starts or pauses playback.
- STOP ■: Stops playback.
- SKIP ◀◀ ▶▶: Skips to previous title/chapter/track or next title/chapter/track. Switches the MENU page of VCD equipped with Playback Control (PBC) function.
- 0-9: To select title/chapter/track numbers etc. e.g., 5: 5, 15: 15.
- VOL-/VOL+: Decreases/increases the audio output.
Using Your DVD Player
Powering your DVD player
- Make sure that your DVD player is connected to power.
- Press the Power button (⑁) on the top left of your DVD player, or on the remote control, to turn it on. The start-up picture appears on the screen.
- Press the Power button (⑁) on the top left of DVD player, or on the remote control, to switch the unit to standby mode.
NOTE
- Screen saver will start automatically if the media playback is stopped and the menu is closed for about 5 minutes.
- The player will automatically switch to Power Standby mode if no buttons are pressed for about 25 minutes after the media has stopped playing.
Playing a DVD or audio CD, or USB
- Turn on the TV and select the correct video input.
- Press the Power button (⑁) to turn on your player.
- Place a disc or connect a USB device.
- If this unit is not switched to the USB mode when connecting the USB device, press DISC/USB button on the remote control.
- Depending on the disc, playback may start automatically. (JPEG Only)
- When you press PLAY/PAUSE ►‖ instead of OK, you can start the slide show.
Controlling DVD or audio CD playback
- Press ■ (STOP) once to stop playback. Your DVD player remembers where you stopped. If you press ►‖, your DVD player starts playing at the point where you stopped.
- Press ■ (STOP) twice to stop playback. If you press ►‖, your DVD player starts playing at the beginning of the disc.
- Press ►‖ to pause playback. Press this button again to resume playback.
- Press ►► to fast-forward the disc. Each time you press this button, the fast-forward speed changes from 2 to 4 to 8 to 20 times the normal speed.
- Press ◄◄ to fast-reverse the disc. Each time you press this button, the fast-reverse speed changes from 2 to 4 to 8 to 20 times the normal speed.
- Press ▶▶ (NEXT) to go to the next title, chapter, or track.
- Press ◀◀ (PREV) to go to the previous title, chapter, or track.
Stopping playback
Press STOP ■. The stopped position is memorized.
Adjusting the volume
- Adjust the volume of playback by turning it up or down on your DVD player, TV, stereo system, or home theater.
Power Resume function
Press PLAY/PAUSE ►‖ to restart from this position. This position is memorized even after power outage. However, if the restart position is misaligned or depending on the media and playback conditions, the unit may not operate normally.
Programming your DVD player
- Insert a disc into the DVD player.
- Press the PROG button on the remote control.
- Select the chapter number you want to play, from the list on the screen.
- Press ►‖ to begin playback.
Changing the Player Settings
Using the Setup menus
Your DVD player has a Setup menu you can use to adjust settings.
- Press SETUP on the remote control. The Setup Menu opens on your TV or monitor.
- Press ◄ or ► to highlight one of the three sub-menus, and then press ▲ or ▼ to highlight an option, press ENTER or ► to select that option.
- Press ▲ or ▼ to change the setting for that option, then press OK to confirm your selection.
- Repeat Step 2 through Step 3 to change other menu options.
- Press SETUP to exit.
Setup menu options
TV System
This menu contains the options for selecting the color system that matches the connected TV.
- PAL: It will change the video signal of an NTSC contents and output it to PAL format.
- NTSC: It will change the video signal of a PAL contents and output it to NTSC format.
- AUTO: Select this if the connected TV is compatible with both NTSC and PAL.
- Video-CVBS: Outputs composite video via VIDEO terminal only.
- Resolution: Select a video resolution that is compatible with the TV display capability.
- Password: Lets you set the parental control password. The default password is 0000. You should change the password to a number you can remember.
- Rating: Blocks DVD playback based on ratings. Select this option to set the parental control level. Options include: KID SAFE, G, PG, PG 13, PGR, R, Nc17, and ADULT. The default is ADULT. Enter the password 0000.
- Power Resume: When this option is turned on and you open the disc tray, your DVD player remembers where you stopped. If you close the tray with the same disc loaded, your DVD player starts playing at the point where you stopped.
- Default: Reset all settings except the password and parental controls back to the factory default.
General Setup
TV Type: Selects the aspect ratio. You can select:
- 4:3/PS: Select this option when the DVD player is connected to a normal TV (4:3 aspect ratio). Wide-screen images are shown on the screen, but with some parts cropped automatically.
- 4:3/LB: Select this when the DVD player is connected to a normal TV (4:3 aspect ratio). Wide-screen images are shown on the screen with a black band on the top and bottom.
- 16:9: Displays the video image full-screen when your DVD player is connected to a widescreen TV (16:9 aspect ratio).
Screen Saver: When this option is turned on, your DVD player displays a screen saver when the same image stays on the screen for five minutes.
Menu and sub-options
Language Setup
OSD Language: Selects the language for the Setup menu. You can select English, German, Spanish, French, Italian or Portuguese.
- Audio: Selects the audio language. If the language you select is not recorded on the DVD, your DVD player plays the default audio language.
- Subtitle: Select the subtitle language. If the language you select is not recorded on the DVD, your DVD player displays the default subtitle language.
- Menu Lang: Selects the DVD menu language. If the language you select is not recorded on the DVD, your DVD player displays the default language.
Audio Setup
Audio Out:
- SPDIF / RAW: Loops through original digital audio (Bitstream).
- SPDIF / PCM: Selects this if you connect the player to a TV that is not compatible with digital signals.
HDMI AUDIO:
- AUTO: It will detect whether the connected receiver or TV supports the movie soundtrack format, and output BITSTREAM without any processing if it supports the format, or PCM as processed audio ready for any receiver if it does not support it.
- PCM: Outputs the signal as processed audio ready for any receiver. Use this when your receiver or TV cannot decode the movie soundtrack on the disc.
KEY: Select your favorite key of audio outputs.
DOWNMIX: Select how the player downmixes multi-channel audio to stereo output:
- LT/RT-2-channel output: main channel with surround.
- STEREO-2-channel output: main right channel with right surround and main left channel with left surround.
Troubleshooting
Please check for causes of problems in accordance with the following chart before contacting any maintenance personnel.

Note:
Static or other external interference may cause the abnormity of the player. In this circumstance, unplug the power supply cord from the outlet and plug it in again to reset the player so that normal operation will be resumed. If problems persist, please disconnect the power and consult a service center or a qualified technician.
