Honeywell Sensor and Switch Solutions for HVAC
Overview
This document details various Honeywell product lines that can be used to support HVAC applications. The focus is on how sensors and switches contribute to efficient ventilation, improved air quality, and reduced HVAC running costs.
Product Applications in HVAC
Honeywell offers a range of sensors and switches for diverse HVAC applications:
- Demand Control Ventilation: Utilizes gas sensors (CO2, CO) and various switches for optimizing ventilation rates based on air quality.
- Variable Air Volume (VAV) Control: Employs airflow sensors and pressure sensors to monitor and control air volume within ducting, ensuring proper air distribution and preventing temperature imbalances.
- Air Purification/Filter Monitoring: Uses pressure sensors to detect clogged filters, improving air quality and reducing power consumption.
- Air Conditioning: Incorporates pressure sensors to monitor compressor output and input pressure for enhanced system efficiency and thermal sensors for temperature control.
- Heating Systems (Residential & Commercial): Features pressure sensors for monitoring water/steam pressure and flow, CO sensors for detecting incomplete combustion, and thermal sensors for temperature control and thermostat integration. Limit switches are used for damper/valve position monitoring.
- Refrigeration: Utilizes pressure sensors for compressor monitoring, thermal sensors for temperature control, and switches for presence detection and function monitoring, especially in hazardous locations.
