Questions and Answers
Q: Why Mac asks to allow an accessory to connect?
A: When a new USB or Thunderbolt accessory connects to your Mac laptop with Apple silicon and macOS Ventura or later for the first time, you will get an alert that asks you to allow the accessory to connect. This is the security policy of Mac system. You need to choose ALLOW before you can use them. If you choose DON'T ALLOW, your Mac won't recognize the accessory or give it access to the data on your Mac, and you'll be asked again to allow it to connect on the next time you use the accessory.
Q: Why there is no video output?
A: a. Make sure the USB C port of your device supports DisplayPort Alt Mode. If you couldn't confirm this function, please contact your laptop/Tablet/Cellphone devices after sale service to confirm it.
b. Double check if the HDMI cable or monitor works properly or not.
Q: Why the USB C PD port doesn't work?
A: a. The USB C PD port only supports power input. Please make sure the USB C port of your device supports charging function.
b. When use PD adapter ≤45W with HUB, some special model notebook computer will not charging, this is computer original control method as it detect the received power watts is less than its original adapter (HUB take and reserve some power watts from the PD adapter). In this situation, please replace with a PD adapter ≥65W.
Please confirm what kind of USB-C port on your device is.
Q: Why the hub becomes warm when using?
A: The surface temperature is hot because the chip will heat up when it is working. If it is used overload, such as connecting to hard drivers, USB speaker which are high power, it would also heat up faster. WALNEW uses aluminum material for this USB C Hub, which will dissipate heat quickly, so the internal temperature of the product will be guaranteed to be normal. Don't worry about safety issues.
Q: Why it doesn't work when connecting to external devices such as keyboard, hard disk and mouse?
A: It is suggested to use the power adapter to charge the device to make sure your device have enough power to supply the external high power devices, such as keyboard, hard disk and mouse.
Q: Why can't save files to SD or Micro SD card?
A: The compatibility of different formats of the SD or Micro SD card used on different systems is as follows table, please check and choose the appropriate format you need to use.
