Operation Guide
Transmitter and Receiver Pairing
- Transmitters automatically power on when removed from the charging case.
- Insert the USB-C or Lightning receiver into the corresponding port on your mobile device.
- The transmitters and receivers are pre-paired at the factory. They will connect automatically when powered on. Successful connection is indicated by solid blue lights on both devices.
- If pairing fails:
- With the transmitter powered off, long-press the power button for 5 seconds until the indicator light blinks blue rapidly, entering pairing mode.
- With the receiver powered off, long-press its power button for 5 seconds until its indicator light blinks blue rapidly, entering pairing mode.
- Once pairing is successful, both the transmitter and receiver indicator lights will remain solid blue.
Charging Case and Receiver Pairing
- Long-press the charging case power button for 2 seconds to activate the transmitter (TX1). Insert the USB-C or Lightning receiver into your mobile device.
- The devices are pre-paired and will connect automatically. Successful connection is indicated by solid blue lights on the charging case's TX1 indicator and the receiver.
- If automatic connection fails, remove the transmitter from the charging case's first slot and pair it following the "Transmitter and Receiver Pairing" procedure. After successful pairing, return TX1 to the charging case and power it on. This enables handheld microphone use or desktop microphone use with the BOYA Desktop Stand.
Using as Handheld Microphone
The transmitter can be held directly for recording.
Using as Desktop Microphone
The transmitter can be mounted on the BOYA Desktop Stand or a standard tripod.
Transmitter Attachment
- For clear audio recording in windy outdoor environments, it is recommended to attach the windproof hood or wind sponge to the transmitter or charging case.
- The transmitter can be clipped onto clothing using the magnetic adsorption back clip, or attached using the magnetic sheet.
Connecting to Devices
Connecting to Mobile Devices
- Insert the USB-C or Lightning receiver into the appropriate port on your smartphone or tablet.
- Launch the BOYA Central app or another compatible application to record audio and video. If the application supports external microphones, select the BOYA Magic as the input device.
Diagrams: Illustrate connection of USB-C receiver to a laptop/tablet/phone and Lightning receiver to an iPhone.
Connecting to Cameras
Use a 3.5mm TRS audio cable to connect the receiver's 3.5mm TRS audio output to a camera or mixer. This transfers the recorded audio from the transmitter to the connected device.

Tips and Cautions
Tips:
- It is recommended to perform a simple recording test before actual recording to ensure audio levels are within the acceptable range.
- In noisy environments, short-press the power button on the transmitter or charging case to enable the noise reduction function for improved recording quality. The noise reduction function for both transmitters operates simultaneously (either on or off together).
- After finishing recording, place the product back into the charging case for charging and storage.
Caution:
The 2.4GHz band is susceptible to signal interference. To minimize this, avoid obstacles such as walls and buildings, and stay away from high-power Wi-Fi antennas or radios operating in the 2.4GHz band.
App Information
Download the "BOYA Central" app by scanning the QR code or searching in your app store. Connecting the BOYA Magic via the Lightning or USB-C receiver to your smartphone allows you to check battery levels and input levels, adjust microphone gain, noise reduction, and recording modes, and perform firmware upgrades for an enhanced audio experience.
Note: Supports iOS 15.6 or later, and Android 7.0 or later.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with the product, please refer to the following solutions. If problems persist, contact your local dealer's after-sales service department.
Transmitter Cannot Pair with Receiver
- For Lightning or USB-C Receivers: Ensure the transmitter is powered off. Connect the receiver to your mobile device.
- For 3.5mm TRS Receivers: Ensure both the transmitter and receiver are powered off.
- After ensuring both are off, long-press the power buttons of both the transmitter and receiver simultaneously for approximately 5 seconds. Release when the indicators blink blue rapidly, then attempt pairing again.
Charging Case Cannot Pair with Receiver
- When using the charging case as a handheld or desktop microphone, ensure the microphone is inserted into the first slot.
- If pairing still fails despite the microphone being in the first slot, remove the microphone and follow the steps in "Transmitter and Receiver Pairing" to re-pair it.
Limited Range, Sound Changes, or Noise Issues
- ① Verify that there is no interference from high-power wireless routers or devices in your current environment. If interference is unavoidable, try to find an optimal distance and angle.
- ② The 2.4GHz band is prone to signal interference. Avoid obstacles like walls and buildings, and stay away from high-power Wi-Fi antennas or radios operating in the 2.4GHz band.
- ③ Check if the receiver is loose; if so, remove and re-insert it.
Device Does Not Power On
- Check if the battery is depleted due to prolonged non-use and charge the device.
Charging Case Cannot Charge Transmitter
- ① Charge the charging case to rule out battery depletion as the cause.
- ② Check if the charging contacts are properly connected. Clean the contacts with a clean cloth and try again.
- ③ Check for magnetic degradation or poor charging contact. Press the transmitter firmly against the charging contacts to ensure it engages. If charging still fails, contact customer service.
