DVD-ROM Installation Instructions for Mac Users
These instructions guide Mac users through the installation of Cambridge Applications from a DVD-ROM. The screenshots provided are from an example application called 'Face2Face Intermediate'. For different products, the application name may vary.
Please note: It is advised not to use Mozilla Firefox when following these instructions.
How to Install Your Cambridge Application to Your Hard Disk
- Insert the CD/DVD-ROM into your CD/DVD drive.
- Locate your CD/DVD drive on your computer and open it to view the contents of the CD/DVD-ROM.
- Double-click on the file named
CambridgeApplicationInstaller.exe
.

If a security warning appears asking for confirmation to run the software, click 'Run'. The installation software will then launch.
Installation Process
Follow the on-screen instructions provided by the installation software:
To Install This Cambridge Application:
- Close all other programs before beginning the installation.
- Click 'Next' to proceed to the next screen.
Please note: You may require administrator rights on your computer to complete the installation.
An InstallAnywhere progress window shows 'InstallAnywhere is preparing to install...' with a progress bar indicating 98% completion.
The InstallAnywhere interface presents an 'Introduction' screen and then the 'Choose Install Folder' screen, prompting the user to select a destination folder for the application.
When choosing a folder, it is highly recommended to use the default location: inside the Cambridge Content
folder, within the Cambridge
folder on the Macintosh HD
disk. After selecting the folder, click 'Next'.
The InstallAnywhere 'Terms and conditions of use' screen is displayed, requiring the user to accept the license agreement by selecting 'I accept the terms of the License Agreement' and clicking 'Install'.
InstallAnywhere screens then show the progress of copying content and installing Adobe AIR, with messages like 'Installing... Copying Folder...' and 'Installing Adobe AIR (command line)'.
Error Handling: Damaged Installer File
If you encounter an error, an error message dialog box may appear, stating: "Sorry, an error has occurred. The application could not be installed because the installer file is damaged. Try obtaining a new installer file from the application author."
In this case, click the 'Close' button on the error message. Then, click 'Done' to close the installer.
Using the Latest Updated Installer
If the original installer file is damaged, follow these steps to use the latest updated installer:
- Download the latest updated installer for your product from the website: http://www.cambridge.org/disc-support
- Save the downloaded installer directly to your Desktop.
- The installer file will have the extension '.Air'.
- Double-click the '.Air' installer file to begin the installation process.

Click on 'Install' to run the application.
A security prompt asks: "Are you sure you want to install this application to your computer?" It lists the publisher as 'Cambridge University Press Holdings Limited' and shows 'Publisher Identity: VERIFIED'.
The InstallAnywhere 'Installation Preferences' screen allows users to choose options such as 'Add shortcut icon to my desktop' and 'Start application after installation'. The default installation folder is highly recommended.
Click on 'Continue' to install and load the application.

Once installation is complete, the main face2face Intermediate DVD-ROM
application interface will be displayed. This interface features a main menu with numbered sections (1-12) for accessing various learning activities, including Grammar, Vocabulary, Video, Pronunciation, Real World, and Listening activities.
Note: If the system prompts you to install any latest Adobe software, click on 'Yes'.
