Heating and Ventilation
Remote Climate Control Operation
Note: The following information replaces that provided in the current Range Rover Owner's Handbook.
The heating program operates for 20-30 minutes and then automatically switches off to prevent battery discharge. It also switches off automatically when the engine is started.
The LED indicator shows the status and modes of the heater as follows:
- Green ON button press: LED illuminates green, then flashes green rapidly, indicating a heating request.
- Green ON, then red OFF press: LED illuminates green, then flashes red when the OFF button is pressed, indicating a request to switch off the heater.
- Green ON, then flashing red: LED illuminates green, then flashes red rapidly when the ON or OFF button is pressed, indicating no communication with the receiver.
- Green ON, then slow flashing red: LED illuminates green, then flashes red slowly when the ON or OFF button is pressed, indicating a fault.
- Flashing red: LED flashes red when the ON or OFF button is pressed, indicating the remote control's power cell is depleted.
Remote Control Buttons:
- ON button (activation).
- OFF button (deactivation).
- LED (operation indicator).
- Antenna.
Note: When pressing the ON or OFF button, try not to touch the antenna.
The remote control's operating range is approximately 100 meters. It is not necessary to point the antenna towards the vehicle.
Press and hold the ON button for approximately two seconds. The LED will illuminate to confirm that the automatic heating program has started. The LED will flash every 2 seconds, indicating the heater is operating.
Towing
Towing a Trailer
Note: The following information replaces that provided in the current Range Rover Owner's Handbook.
Maximum Permissible Trailer Weight
Trailer Type | Maximum Permissible Trailer Weight |
Trailers without their own braking system | 750 kg (1653 lbs) |
Trailers with overrun braking system | 3500 kg (7716 lbs) |
Without coupling load limit* | 150 kg (331 lbs) |
With coupling load limit** | 200 / 250 kg (441 / 551 lbs) |
Additional equipment fitted to the coupling (e.g. bicycle carrier) | 80 kg (176 lbs) |
Note: * When the vehicle is loaded to its maximum Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW).
For additional information on the vehicle's Gross Vehicle Weight, Gross Train Weight, axle load, and maximum payload, refer to the WEIGHT section of the Owner's Handbook.
Note: When towing in European Union (EU) countries, the maximum permissible vehicle weight can be increased by 100 kg (220 lbs) provided the speed is limited to 100 km/h (60 mph).
Note: When calculating the load on the rear axle, remember to include the coupling load, the weight of luggage in the vehicle's luggage compartment, the weight of the roof rack, and the weight of rear passengers.
Note: ** This limit applies exclusively to trailers equipped with overrun brakes.
For vehicles with an electrically operated towbar, the limit is 200 kg (441 lbs). If the vehicle is loaded to its maximum permissible weight, the payload must be reduced by 50 kg (110 lbs).
For all other towbars, the nose weight can be increased to 250 kg (551 lbs). In this case, if the vehicle is loaded to its maximum permissible weight, the payload must be reduced by at least 100 kg (220 lbs). This will ensure compliance with GVW and rear axle load limits.
Note: An electrically operated towbar has a limit of 1000 kg (2200 lbs) when used for off-road driving.
Australia Only: The coupling load must be at least 7% of the total caravan/trailer weight, but not more than 350 kg (771 lbs).
Suspension
Remote Control Operation Principle
Note: The information below should be used in conjunction with the information in the Range Rover Owner's Handbook.
To raise the vehicle, press and hold the exterior light button (1) and the unlock button (2) simultaneously.
To lower the vehicle, press and hold the exterior light button (1) and the tailgate release button (2) simultaneously.
Note: If the initial height differs from normal, the movement will stop when normal height is reached. Release and press the electronic key buttons again to continue the process.
Note: If the exterior light button (1) is pressed and held for more than 10 seconds during raising or lowering, or if unusual behavior occurs (e.g., tailgate opening, windows opening), press the exterior light button (1) twice and repeat the procedure.
Fuel and Refueling
Fuel Consumption
Note: The figures in the table replace those in the current Range Rover Owner's Handbook.
The fuel consumption figures below were obtained from calculations using the EU's standard test method (new EU test method according to Directive 99/100/EC) and in accordance with the Passenger Car Fuel Consumption Act of 1996 (as amended).
Actual fuel consumption may differ from the figures obtained during testing due to driving style, road and weather conditions, vehicle load, and vehicle condition.
Variant | Urban Cycle | Extra-Urban Cycle | Combined Cycle | CO2 Emissions |
l/100 km (mpg) | l/100 km (mpg) | l/100 km (mpg) | g/km | |
3.0L V6 Diesel | 8.5 (33.2) | 7.0 (40.4) | 7.5 (37.7) | 196 |
4.4L V8 Diesel | 11.5 (24.6) | 7.6 (37.2) | 8.7 (32.5) | 229 |
3.0L V8 Petrol (Naturally Aspirated) | 18 (15.7) | 9.5 (29.7) | 12.8 (22.1) | 299 |
3.0L V8 Petrol (Supercharged) | 20.6 (13.7) | 9.9 (28.5) | 13.8 (20.5) | 322 |
Urban Cycle
The urban cycle test begins with a cold start and consists of a series of accelerations, braking, constant speed driving, and idling periods. The maximum speed reached during the test is 50 km/h (30 mph) with an average driving speed of 19 km/h (12 mph).
Extra-Urban Cycle
The extra-urban cycle test is carried out immediately after the urban cycle test. Approximately half of the test consists of constant speed driving, with the remainder consisting of a series of accelerations, braking, and idling periods. The maximum speed during the test is 120 km/h (75 mph), with an average speed of 63 km/h (39 mph). The test is conducted over a distance of 7 km (4.3 miles).
Combined Cycle
The combined cycle figure represents the average result of the urban and extra-urban cycles, taking into account the different distances covered by the vehicle during the two tests.

Technical Specifications
Dimensions
Note: The information below should be used in conjunction with the vehicle's dimensions provided in the Range Rover Owner's Handbook.
When driving off-road, remember that vehicles equipped with deployable side steps, fixed side steps, or tubular side protection have reduced ground clearance and increased overall width.
Fuses
Fuse Box Locations
Note: The following information replaces that provided in the current Range Rover Owner's Handbook.
Do not allow moisture to enter the open fuse box and refit the removable panel as soon as possible.
- To access the fuse boxes in the luggage compartment, open the tailgate. Refer to the 'Opening and Closing the Tailgate' section in the Range Rover Owner's Handbook. Remove the access panel by taking it with both hands at the top and pulling firmly. The table on the back of the access panel shows the circuits protected and the fuse locations.
- When refitting the removable panel, ensure that the 3 fixing/guide pins engage correctly in their respective holes before pushing the panel into place.
- Upper fuse box in the luggage compartment.
- Lower fuse box in the luggage compartment.
Replacing a Fuse
Note: When replacing a fuse, always use a fuse of the same type and rating as the one being replaced, or a fuse with compatible characteristics. Using an incorrect fuse can damage the vehicle's electrical system, which could lead to a fire.
If a new fuse blows after replacement, have the protected system checked by a Land Rover dealer or authorized workshop.
Note: Land Rover recommends that only qualified technicians should replace relays. Always switch off the ignition and the relevant electrical circuit before replacing a fuse.
