Installation
CAUTION: Installation and operation must comply with all applicable federal, state, and local construction, electrical, environmental, and safety codes. Failure to do so may result in serious injury or death. This unit is designed for Class I, Division 2, Group C & D areas only; do not install in Class I, Division 1 areas.
Installation Requirements
- Read this manual before installation. Consult your distributor or Liquid Controls Service Department for questions.
- Mount the display securely to a platform or supportive member, ensuring it is protected from excessive vibration or shock.
- The LectroCount Remote Display is designed for compatibility with specific LectroCount Electronic Registers as indicated on the Serial Number Tag. Do not use with a different input type.
- The display is supplied with a 30 ft cable. If additional cable is needed, kits are available from Liquid Controls. Use 22-gage, 4-wire, shielded cable or larger. Maximum cable length is 100 ft.
- Ensure the cable is properly terminated and the cover is tightened to maintain the vapor seal if the cable is replaced.
Remote Display Label
The display is shipped with units of measure labeled in "Gallons". Four additional unit of measure labels are included (e.g., Litres, Pounds, corrected volumes). To change the unit, remove the desired label and apply it over the "Gallons" label on the display.
Figure 3 illustrates the Remote Display Label, showing the default 'Gallons' unit and indicating that additional labels for 'Litres', 'Pounds', and corrected volume units are provided.
Mounting Dimensions
Mount the LectroCount Remote Display using the four holes provided in the rear cover, designed for 1/2-inch screws. Select a mounting location that optimizes the viewing angle (refer to Optimum Viewing Angle section). The diagram shows overall dimensions and mounting hole locations.
Figure 4 provides the mounting dimensions for the LectroCount Remote Display, detailing overall size (18.125 inches wide) and the placement of four mounting holes. It also notes a 0.875-inch hole suitable for a 1/2-inch cable gland or conduit fitting.
Optimum Viewing Angle
LCD displays have an optimum viewing angle for best contrast. The LectroCount Remote Display is designed with a bias to accommodate a wide viewing area. Optimum contrast occurs when viewed between 20° above and 40° below horizontal. Viewing outside this range reduces contrast. The horizontal side-to-side viewing angle is 40° left and right from center.
Figure 5 illustrates the Optimum Viewing Angle. The top view shows a horizontal viewing angle of 40° left and right. The side view indicates an optimum vertical viewing range of 20° above and 40° below the horizontal center line.
Remote Display Shield Accessory (PN 81879)
This optional shield reduces glare from sun or bright light. It fits over the LectroCount Remote Display and has slotted holes for easy installation.
Figure 6 shows the Remote Display Shield accessory fitted onto the display. Figure 7 provides the dimensions of this shield, designed to reduce glare.
Bolt & Torque Specifications
To access internal components (e.g., for jumper settings), remove the 14 bolts on the rear panel. After servicing, tighten the bolts in the specified sequence to ensure proper resealing and moisture prevention. Bolts should be tightened to 5-8 In. LBS. (80-128 In. Oz.).
Figure 8 shows the torque pattern for tightening the 14 bolts on the rear panel of the Remote Display, specifying a sequence and torque of 5-8 In. LBS.
Decimal Point Jumper Setting
Model E1610 automatically matches the decimal configuration of the LectroCount LCR-II display; no jumper adjustment is needed. For other configurations, jumpers J3 and J4 on the Remote Display PCB can be moved to set the decimal point to Whole Units, Tenth Units, or Hundredth Units. Jumpers must be in place (not removed). If J3 and J4 are both OFF, it displays Whole Units. If both are ON, it displays two decimal points, which is not a valid configuration.
Figure 9 indicates the location of jumpers J3 and J4 on the Printed Circuit Board (PCB) for setting the decimal point, situated to the left of the J2 connector.

Wiring Diagrams
Model No. E1610 - For use with LectroCount LCR-II
After mounting, route the factory-installed cable to the LectroCount LCR-II. Connect the cable to the J12 Connector on the LCR-II PCB. The diagram shows pin assignments for the J12 connector on the Remote Display and the J1 connector on the LCR-II board.
Figure 10 illustrates the LCR-II Wiring Diagram, detailing connections from the Remote Display's J12 connector to the LCR-II's J1 connector, including pin assignments for power and signal.
Note: If LCR-II power exceeds +24VDC, power the remote display from Pin 32 on J8 (+5VDC).
LectroCount LCR-II - Select Switch Kit Accessory (PN 82593)
This optional kit allows remote selection of display options. It is wired directly into the LectroCount LCR-II, not the remote display. The kit includes a push button, cord grips, a 4-port conduit box, and a 30 ft, 2-wire, shielded cable. Installation involves mounting the conduit box, routing the cable, and connecting it to terminal J8 on the LCR-II PCB.
Figure 11 shows the Select Switch Wiring Diagram, detailing how the optional Select Switch Kit is wired to the LCR-II PCB's J8 terminal.
Pressing the Select Switch during a delivery shows the current flow rate for 5 seconds before returning to the flow total.
Model No. E1611 - For use with LectroCount LCR
Route the cable from the display to the LCR. Connect the cable to the J12 Connector on the LCR PCB. The diagram shows pin assignments for the J12 connector on the Remote Display and the J1 connector on the LCR board.
Figure 12 illustrates the LCR Wiring Diagram, showing connections from the Remote Display's J12 connector to the LCR's J1 connector, including pin assignments.
Note: If LCR power exceeds +24VDC, power the remote display from Pin 32 on J8 (+5VDC).
Model No. E1611 - For use with LectroCount³
Route the cable from the display to the LectroCount³. Connect the cable to the J1 Connector on the LC³ PCB. The diagram shows pin assignments for the J1 connector on the Remote Display and the J1 connector on the LC³ board.
Figure 13 illustrates the LC³ Wiring Diagram, showing connections from the Remote Display's J1 connector to the LC³'s J1 connector, including pin assignments.
Dual Display Kit (PN 82594)
This kit enables the use of two LectroCount Remote Displays with a single LectroCount Electronic Register. It includes a 4-port junction box, cord grips, and a nipple/seal washer. The remote displays use a 30 ft, 4-wire, shielded cable.
Dual Display Kit Installation:
- Open one remote display unit by removing the 14 back panel bolts.
- Disconnect the cable from J1.
- Remove the cord grip and cable from the unit.
- Install the 4-Port Junction Box where the cord grip was removed.
- Route the cable from the unopened Remote Display through a junction box cord grip.
- Route the removed cable through a second junction box cord grip.
- Connect both cables to J1 on the PCB (referencing pin assignments: Red to Pin 20, White to Pin 21, Green to Pin 22, Black to Pin 23).
- Replace the display cover per Page 7 specifications.
- Connect the loose end of the cable to the LectroCount Electronic Register (refer to Pages 9-10).
Figure 14 depicts the Dual Display Kit setup, showing two LectroCount Remote Displays connected to a single LectroCount Electronic Register via a 4-port junction box.
