7. Troubleshooting

Phenomenon Reason Solution
Pump does not work or unusual noise.
  1. Check if debris is stored around the impeller or magnet.
  2. Check if the impeller unit is assembled correctly after cleaning.
  3. If using sandy substrate, check for fine grain sand.
  4. Check if the impeller unit is worn out.
  1. Clean the pump.
  2. Shut off the power and reset the impeller.
  3. Change to larger particle sand or ensure the filter intake is not near sand.
  4. Replace the impeller unit.

8. Warning: Basic Safety Precautions

To avoid possible electrical shock, basic safety precautions should be observed including the following:

  1. Read and follow this user manual strictly.
  2. DANGER: To avoid possible electric shock, special care should be taken. Do not attempt to repair it yourself; return it to an authorized service facility for maintenance or discard it.
  3. Carefully examine after installation. Do not plug in if there is water on parts that are not supposed to be wet.
  4. Do not use if it has a damaged cord or plug, or if it is malfunctioning or damaged. The power cord cannot be replaced; if damaged, it should be discarded.
  5. To avoid the plug getting wet, position the aquarium stand and tank to one side of a wall-mounted receptacle to prevent water from dripping onto the receptacle or plug. A "drip loop" should be arranged for each cord connecting the device to the receptacle. The "drip loop" is the part of the cord below the level of the receptacle or connector. If an extension cord is used, prevent water from traveling along the cord and contacting the receptacle. If the plug or receptacle gets wet, DO NOT unplug the cord. Disconnect the fuse to the circuit breaker supplying power, then unplug and check the receptacle for water.
  6. Close supervision is necessary when used near children.
  7. To avoid injury, do not touch moving or hot parts.
  8. Make sure it is securely installed before using.
  9. Read and observe all important notices.
  10. If an extension cord is necessary, use one with a proper rating. A cord rated for less amperes or watts than the appliance may overheat. Arrange the cord to avoid tripping or pulling.
