Thank you for purchasing the Gator GHDVR210 FHD 1080P Dash Cam. Please read this manual and instructions in full prior to installation and use to prevent product failure, damage, or incorrect operation.
Product Overview
This is a Full HD Digital Car driving recorder capable of capturing high-resolution video and pictures. It uses a micro SD card for storage, making it compact, power-saving, and portable. The dash cam offers recording resolutions up to 1920x1080P and can capture 12-megapixel still images. It also features an HDMI interface for direct media transmission to high-definition LCD TVs for playback.

Installation of Dash Cam
- Insert the suction mount into the mounting bracket fixing point on the DASH CAM.
- Fix the device onto a clean windscreen where vision is not blocked. Placing it close to the rear-view mirror is recommended. Do not install the device on or within the working range of an airbag.
- Insert the Micro SD card into the DASH CAM.
- Insert the Micro USB end of the power cord into the Micro USB interface/charging point of the DASH CAM. Connect the USB charging end of the cable into the USB socket adapter and place the adapter into the vehicle's 12V power socket.
- Adjust the mounting bracket and rotate the camera direction for the best view. Ensure approximately one-third of the vehicle's bonnet is visible from the bottom of the screen for alignment.
- Turn the vehicle's ignition to accessories. The DASH CAM will automatically power ON, indicated by an audible tone.
- A red LED will start flashing, and recording will begin automatically.
Button Instructions
- Power Button: Press once to turn the DASH CAM on when it's off. Hold down to turn it off. Also used to turn the LED light on or off.
- MENU/MODE Button: Press once to open the menu. Press again within the menu to access the second settings tab. Hold for 2 seconds to switch between video, photo, and playback modes.
- OK Button: In video mode, press to start recording; press again to stop. In photo mode, press to take a picture. Used to select settings in the menu.
- Up Button: In the menu, use to move the highlighted area for selection. While recording, press to Mute/Unmute the microphone.
- Down Button: In the menu, use to move the highlighted area for selection.
- HDMI Port: Provides HD output via a mini HDMI to HDMI cable (not provided) to a supported device.
- Micro SD Slot: Insert Micro SD card here (Max size 32GB).
- SOS Emergency Button: Press while recording to activate file protection. A white key icon ? will appear if activated.
- Camera Button: Press while recording to take a picture and save it to the SD card.
- USB Interface: Connect for charging or data transmission to a computer.
- Reset: Hard reset the device in case of system jam or crash.
- Power Indication Light: Blue light indicates the device is on. Flashing red indicates recording. Solid red indicates charging.
Extra Functions
- G-Sensor Function: Detects gravitational acceleration (e.g., in a car accident) and automatically saves footage in a non-deletable file. Sensitivity can be adjusted (Off/High/Medium/Low) in the settings menu.
- SOS Function: Press the SOS Button while recording to lock the current video file, making it non-deletable. A white key icon ? will appear if activated.
- Auto Power On/Off: The dash cam automatically turns on and starts recording when power is connected (e.g., car ignition on). It automatically saves the file and shuts down when power is disconnected (e.g., car turned off).
Basic Instructions for Video and Photo Operation
Powering On and Off
To turn on the DASH CAM, press the power key once. A red indication lamp will light up if connected to a power source. To turn it off, hold down the power button.
Warning: The device will automatically turn off when the battery reaches critically low levels. It is recommended to charge the Dash Cam weekly if the car is not used daily to maintain time and date settings.
Video Mode
Hold the Menu/Mode button for 2 seconds to switch to video mode. Press the OK button to start recording. Recording is indicated by a red circle ? in the top-left corner of the LCD. Press the OK button again to stop recording.
On-screen indicators in Video Mode: Video Mode, Video Segmentation Time, Exposure Compensation, G-Sensor Enabled, Mic, Date, Time, Video Time Remaining, Video Resolution, SD Card Status, Battery Status.
Photo Mode
Hold the Menu/Mode button for 2 seconds to switch to photo mode. A camera icon ? will appear in the top-left corner of the LCD. Press the OK button to take a photo. The screen will flash and a camera sound will play. In photo mode, the Menu button allows adjustment of photo resolution, image quality, and other settings.
On-screen indicators in Photo Mode: Camera Mode, Exposure Compensation, White Balance, Photos Remaining, Image Resolution, Image Quality, ISO, SD Card Status, Battery Status.
Video/Photo Playback
Hold the Menu/Mode button for 2 seconds to switch to playback mode. Use the arrow buttons (Up/Down) to select recorded videos or photos. Protected files have a lock icon ? and cannot be deleted until unlocked. Press the OK button to select a file for playback. Pressing the Menu/Mode button offers options to delete or unlock files. Hold the Menu/Mode button for 2 seconds to return to video mode.
On-screen indicators in Playback Mode: Playback Icon, Protected File Status, Selected file out of total files.
Menu Settings
Press the Menu button to enter the settings menu. Navigate using the Up/Down buttons. Press OK to change or edit a selected setting. Press Menu again to exit.
USB Mode
When connected to a PC via USB, two options are presented: 'Mass Storage' for file transfer, and 'PC Camera' to use the DASH CAM as a webcam.
Battery Instructions
The DASH CAM has a built-in 180mAh battery. Indicators show power levels: Critical Power, Low Power, Medium Power, Full Power. A red indicator glows while charging and turns off when fully charged (approx. 3 hours). Charging methods include USB cable or car charger. It is recommended to power the dash cam with the car charger at all times, as the internal battery primarily maintains time and date settings.
Menu Settings Features Explained
- Resolution: Recommended setting is

for best quality footage. - Loop Recording: Set file size for recording segments. Recommended setting is

minute files. - Exposure: Adjusts white input. Recommended setting is

. - Date Stamp: Stamps date and time on all footage.
- Record Audio: Turn the dash cam's recording sound on or off. Set to

to stop recording audio in the vehicle cabin. - G Sensor Sensitivity: Adjusts the sensitivity of the G-sensor. Recommended setting is
Low
to prevent false triggers and conserve SD card space (for non-loop files).
Setup Menu (Spanner and screwdriver icon ?)
- Date/Time: Set the year, month, day, and time using arrow keys and OK button.
- Beep Sound: Turn audible beeps on or off.
- Language: Select from English, Dutch, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Russian, and Korean.
- Frequency: Set for optimal recording under artificial lighting. Australian standard is 50Hz, so set to
50hz
. - Format: Formats the micro SD card, deletes all files, and reinstalls the DCIM directory and DASH CAM software to ensure error-free operation.
- Default Setting: Resets all settings to factory defaults.
- Screen Savers: Turns off the LCD after 1, 3, or 5 minutes while recording continues. Useful for night driving to reduce distraction.
- Lamp Setting: Controls the front LED light. Use when recording inside the vehicle, as it can reflect off the windscreen if used for external recording.
- Version Info: Displays the firmware/software version of the DASH CAM.

Troubleshooting Guide
- Cannot take pictures or record video? Check Micro SD card space or internal storage. Ensure a high-speed Micro SDHC card (Class 10 or above, 4GB+) is used; SDXC cards are not compatible.
- Stopping automatically while recording? Use a high-speed Micro SDHC card (Class 10 or above, 4GB+). SDXC cards are not compatible.
- Fuzzy/dirty image? Clean the lens carefully with a moist soft cloth before shooting.
- DASH CAM jammed or not responding? Reset the device by pushing the reset button on the underside.
- DASH CAM not turning on in the car? Check if the car's cigarette lighter socket has power.
- Micro SD card not recognized? Format the card in the DASH CAM's menu settings before use.
- Coloured tinge in video? Peel off the transparent protective sticker on the front of the DASH CAM's lens.
Safety Information & Warnings
- Do not use in damp conditions; the DASH CAM is not waterproof.
- Do not attempt to open or repair the device yourself. Contact an authorized repair agent for accessory issues.
- Use a moist soft cloth for cleaning; avoid chemical substances, solvents, or cleaners.
- Do not use in dusty conditions.
- Clean the lens surface with a moist soft cloth before use to ensure clear video footage.
