The iTX Appliance 2 from Grass Valley is a dual- or single-channel platform for iTX integrated playout, offering advanced, real-time processing for exceptional video quality and robustness. The platform is designed to support 4K (using four HD-SDI inputs, four HD-SDI outputs) and IP playout with iTX license options, without requiring any changes to the hardware.
The platform is highly adapted for live content and can manage dynamic schedules and late-arriving media by supporting multiple video format playback without the need to transcode.
The iTX Appliance 2 also streamlines the playout of simulcast channels with independent graphics insertion using dual Vertigo XG processors, which are seamlessly controlled from a single interface. This dramatically reduces simulcast hardware requirements, while allowing broadcasters to have truly independently branded SD/HD channels. These powerful simulcast capabilities are enabled with dual channel processing for up/downconversion, embedded audio, caption conversion, and Nielsen watermarking.
