Important Information

This manual contains important information regarding your unit. Please read this manual thoroughly prior to equipment set-up, operation and maintenance. Failure to comply with regular maintenance guidelines outlined in this manual may void the warranty.

WARNINGS

• To minimize shock and fire hazards, ensure only one outlet is used for the unit and do not overload it.
• Do not use extension cords.
• Do not put hands under the unit when moving.
• When the unit is not in use for an extended period, unplug it. Wait at least 10 minutes before plugging it back in to prevent compressor damage.
• Do not plug or unplug the unit with wet hands.
• Always unplug the unit before performing maintenance or cleaning.
• Ensure the unit is properly grounded to prevent shock or fire hazards.
• Do not attempt to remove or repair any component yourself.
• Ensure the unit is not resting on or against the electrical cord or plug.
• Do not hang or lean against the door, as this may cause personal injury or damage to the door hinge.
• Do not store flammable or explosive gases or liquids inside the unit.
• Do not alter or tamper with the electrical cord.
• Set the temperature within the recommended range: Refrigerators: 32°F - 55°F; Freezers: -15°F - 20°F.

INSTALLATION

• If the unit has recently been transported, wait a minimum of 24 hours before installing.
• Ensure the unit reaches the desired temperature before loading it with product.
• Ensure proper ventilation in the operating area.
• Verify all accessories (shelves, shelf clips, casters) are included before proceeding with installation.
• Review the entire manual. Lack of maintenance or misuse can void the warranty.

Please fill out the registration card and send it back to the manufacturer.

Cabinet Location Guidelines

• Install the unit on a flat, sturdy surface. An uneven surface may cause abnormal noises or malfunction.
• Install the unit in an indoor, well-ventilated area for optimal performance.
• Maintain at least 4 inches of clearance at the back of the unit.
• Avoid high humidity and dusty areas, as this can cause rust and decrease efficiency.
• Keep the condenser coil clean (at least once a month) to prevent malfunction. Neglect of maintenance voids the warranty.
• Select a location away from heat-generating equipment. High ambient temperatures can cause the compressor to overcompensate, leading to higher energy bills and potential breakdown. Malfunction due to high temperatures voids the warranty.

ELECTRICAL

• Ensure the compressor voltage is constant. Low or high voltage can affect the unit and void the warranty.
• All units must be plugged into a grounded, properly-sized electrical outlet with appropriate over-current protection.
• Refer to the serial tag inside the unit for specific electrical requirements.
• Use a dedicated outlet; do not use an extension cord.

TEMPERATURE CONTROLS

Factory set temperature is an average of 38°F. Adjust controls on the front of the unit for different temperatures.

Freezer Control

Operations - Regulating the Temperature

Refrigerators cycle between 33°F and 40°F. Freezers cycle between -7°F and 0°F.

To change the temperature:

• Hold “SET” for 1 second to view the current temperature.
• Use the buttons to set the desired temperature.
• Press “SET” again to save the settings.

If the unit consistently runs 5°F higher than the set temperature, service may be needed. Other control functions should be performed by a service technician.

LOADING PRODUCT

• Ensure all shelf clips are fully fastened and shelves are level before loading product.
• Maintain 2” to 4” of space between the back wall and the product for proper airflow. Blocking evaporator fans can lead to warmer temperatures and compressor damage.

DEFROST SYSTEMS

• Refrigerator coils are kept below 32°F. During compressor downtime, the evaporator fan circulates air to melt frost. Run-off water drains to the evaporator pan and evaporates.
• Freezer coils are defrosted electrically. Automatic defrost timers are built-in and cannot be adjusted. They initiate at pre-set intervals.

Servicing should be performed by an authorized service technician.

REGULAR MAINTENANCE

Cleaning Condenser

• Keep the condenser surface free of dust, dirt, and lint for efficient operation.
• Clean the condenser coil and fins at least once per month using a commercial condenser coil cleaner.
• Brush fins from top to bottom. Straighten any bent fins with a fin comb.

Cleaning the Fans and Motor

• Keep the condenser surface free of dust, dirt, and lint for efficient operation.
• Clean the condenser coil and fins at least once per month.
• Brush fins from top to bottom. Straighten any bent fins with a fin comb.
• If necessary, clean fan blades and motor with a soft cloth. Cover the fan motor to prevent moisture damage if washing fan blades.

Cleaning the Interior of Unit

• Use warm water and mild soap for cleaning the interior. Do not use steel wool, caustic soap, abrasive cleaners, or bleach, as they can damage the stainless steel surface.
• Clean door gaskets weekly. Remove gaskets, soak in warm water and soap for 30 minutes, dry, and replace. Check for a proper seal.
• Periodically remove shelves and pilasters for cleaning with mild soap and warm water.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Before requesting service, check the following chart. Service calls due to lack of maintenance or misuse are not covered by warranty.

WARRANTY

TWO YEAR WARRANTY

Argus warrants to the original purchaser that the cabinet and all parts are free from defects in material or workmanship under normal use and service for two (2) years from the date of original purchase.

Defective parts will be repaired or replaced. Options include:

• Furnishing a replacement part, freight collect, in exchange for the returned part, freight collect.
• Repairing the defective part and returning it, freight collect.

ADDITIONAL THREE YEAR COMPRESSOR PART WARRANTY

In addition to the two-year warranty, the compressor is warranted for three (3) additional years from the date of original purchase, not to exceed five (5) years and three (3) months after shipment from the manufacturer. This warranty covers only the hermetically and semi-hermetically sealed parts of the compressor.

134A (404A) AND R290 COMPRESSOR WARRANTY

To maintain this warranty, follow these procedures:

• The system contains R134A (R404A) refrigerant and polyol ester lubricant. If exposed to ambient conditions for extended periods, the lubricant must be replaced. Failure to comply voids the warranty.
• Dryer replacement is required when the system is opened for servicing. Use a dryer with XH-9 desiccant.
• Achieve micron level vacuums of 500 microns or lower to ensure low moisture levels.

WHAT IS NOT COVERED BY THIS WARRANTY

• This warranty is not transferable.
• Not responsible for consequential damages, including profit loss or food/product spoilage.
• Not responsible for damage due to alteration, neglect, abuse, misuse, accident, transit damage, installation damage, fire, flood, or Acts of God.
• No implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. Warranties are express and limited to the terms stated.
• Transportation costs for warranty claims are the responsibility of the claimant, except for approved freight collect parts.
• All warranty claims must include model number, serial number, proof of purchase, and date of installation. Claims must be commenced within one (1) year of the cause of action.
• This equipment is intended for commercial use only. Use in other than a commercial application voids the warranty.
