Basic Control Wire Layout
The diagram illustrates the basic control wire layout for a Raindial Controller. It shows a central controller unit connected to multiple solenoid valves. Key components and connections are labeled:
- Wiring Connection: Indicates the use of Scotchlok or Twistlok waterproof connectors for secure connections.
- Common Wire: This wire, typically black in color, serves as a common connection point for all solenoid valves.
- Active Wire: This wire, which can be of various colors, connects a specific valve to a designated station on the controller (e.g., 'Active Wire (Station 6)').
Important Notes
- The common wire links one wire on all solenoid valves to the controller and is usually black in colour.
- An active wire is defined as that which connects a valve to a specific station. They can be various colours.
- When installing control wire, ensure wire is looped at valve location to allow for expansion/contraction and soil movement.
- Ensure all wire connections are accessible for later servicing/fault finding. All wire connections must be waterproof.
