Technical Dimensions:
- Weight: 28 lbs
- Length: 17 inches
- Width: 11.5 inches
- Height: 18 inches
Blade Dimensions:
The Snowie 1000 Shaver blade is 6 inches in diameter. It is mounted in the Blade Housing with six retainer tabs. The blade surface automatically shaves the cubes with the freshest blade edge until replacement.
Ice Cube Dimensions:
The Snowie 1000 Shaver will accept all types of cube ice to a maximum dimension of 2 inches along the largest edge. The larger the cube the better snow that is produced; crushed or small cubes do not produce as satisfactory snow.
Set Up
Set up and take down is easy to complete using the following steps:
Place the Drip Pan on a counter or table edge so the drip hose is not pinched and can easily drain. Place hose end in catch container or drain. Set the Shaver on the Drip Pan. Note: Shaver will tilt slightly forward.
- [A] Raise the Snowie 1000 Ice Hopper Lid up to receive ice cubes
- [B] Dump the ice cubes into the Ice Hopper. Ensure that no foreign objects (including ice bag clips) are accidentally put into the Ice Hopper
- [C] Close the Hopper Lid otherwise ice and ice chips will spray out
- [D] Place the Rocker Switch in the UP position to use the foot pedal (recommended). Snowie 1000 can be operated using the Rocker Switch ON position directly without the foot pedal
- [E] Place hand behind the Snow Catch flap to guide the snow into the cup
- [F] Wrap the Snow Catch flap around the cup, as you position the cup at the edge of the Snow Shaper
- [G] Step on the Foot Pedal or use the Rocker Switch to shave the ice cubes into snow
- [H] Shaped shaved ice is ready for syrup flavorings and serving
Take Down
Remove the ice by shaving it. Do not reach into the Ice Hopper while the Snowie 1000 is connected to the power source. Wipe up excess ice and water from the front and around the Drip Pan. Disconnect the power and allow all parts to air dry.
When transporting, use the Carry Handles to carry the Snowie 1000 Shaver with the Ice Hopper completely closed, the Foot Pedal removed, and the power cord wrapped securely around the machine.
Quick Guide
- Ensure front Switch is up (FOOT) and that the set up is complete
- Hold cup against Snow Shaper depression and Snow Catch flap
- Tap Foot Pedal to fill cup
- Do not overfill Snow Exit chute
- Gently form top inside Snow Shaper and trim edge as needed
- Add syrup, straw, and serve
Operating Instructions
- After setup is complete, flip the Switch to the FOOT (up) position, plug the Foot Pedal in fully, and make sure there are no line kinks. The Foot Pedal controls blade rotation (motor on) for creating shaved ice. Careful pressure control can maintain blade rotation for steadily filling the cup evenly. During operation, snow is propelled through the chute to easily fill the cup. The longer the foot pedal is fully depressed, the longer the blade will shave snow. Fully letting up the Foot Pedal results in the spinning blade slowing until it stops.
- Using one hand, place the cup edge into the depression of the Snow Shaper with the bottom of the cup towards you. Use your other hand to pull the clear Snow Catch around the bottom of the cup to direct the snow into the cup. Holding the cup too close to the chute will clog the exit chute. Holding the Snow Catch too loosely will allow snow to escape.
- Tap the Foot Pedal to start snow production. After letting off the Foot Pedal, the blade will quickly slow then stop. As the blade spins, snow will be created. Steady pressure on the Foot Pedal will keep snow flowing.
- When the cup is full of snow, use the Snow Shaper to form the Snowie top and the edge of the Snow Shaper to scrape off the excess snow from around the rim of the cup.
- Do not compress the snow too tightly in the Snow Shaper; a spoon or spoon straw should slide easily to the bottom of the cup.
- To flavor the Snowie, pour syrup on the top in one spot until it is visible at the edge. At this point, you will know the syrup has been distributed evenly. Syrup will continue to mix for a few minutes after being poured. An 8 oz. Snowie will need approximately 3 oz. of syrup.
Maintenance Schedule
Regular and thorough maintenance will ensure many years of worry-free performance and multitudes of satisfied customers. Remember to disconnect power source before any maintenance.
Suggested Maintenance Schedule for proper care is:
Frequency | Tasks |
---|---|
Daily | - Remove power and secure as needed to wipe down case exterior, snow chutes, flap, etc. - Tip forward to drain water away from motor and dry out blade and ice hopper |
Weekly | - Remove ice hopper for inspection and cleaning - Disassemble and clean the shaver interior and exterior - Tighten any loose bolts, screws, tabs, or nuts |
Monthly | - Check foot pedal for wear/cracks - Check case/covers and clean thoroughly - Blade change (as needed) |
Seasonal | - Thoroughly clean foot pedal, power cord, inside and outside case surfaces - Wash equipment with a mild diluted vinegar-water solution to remove water spots - Unplug from power and store out of weather. |
Operation Concerns
All Blade Retention Tabs (six) must, at all times, be twisted to secure the Blade and Blade Housing together or the Blade may shear off destroying the Blade Housing.
When the Blade and Blade Housing are correctly positioned, the Snowie 1000 will "hum" without rubbing or grinding when operated without ice cubes.
If the Blade or Blade Housing are incorrectly positioned, then instead of a "hum", a grinding or rubbing, or even small metal flakes may be found on the snow.
Always stop machine operation and adjust the Blade or Blade Housing if the correct alignment ever changes.

Proper cleaning is an important task to ensure sanitary conditions are maintained. The materials required are: washing rags and scrub brush, soap solution, rinse water, and sanitizing solution (bleach or other approved solution).
Disconnect power source and remove Ice Hopper, and Blade Housing
Correct cleaning steps for all surfaces include washing with soap, rinsing off soap with plenty of clean water, sanitizing, and allowing to air dry. Carefully inspect and clean the following:
- External surfaces including: Power wire, Foot pedal, Air pressure switch and hose, Drip pan and cup holder, Ice Hopper and Lid, Snow exit chute, Snow catch flap, Drip pan hose.
- Remove drip pan hose and clean internal hose surface by pouring solutions through the hose.
- Remove Ice Hopper for access to the internal areas: Blade Housing, Blade, Paddle Wheel, Motor Cabinet top surface.
- Remove Blade from the protective Blade Housing. (See blade change section for blade removal process).
Note: The paddle wheel can be removed by unscrewing the hex set screw. Gently rock the paddle wheel back and forth while lifting until freed. See videos for additional help and information.
This section is for internal components. Be careful that no internal components are damaged or any wires loosened.
- Lay the shaver on the back surface for access to clean: Shaver foot rests and support bars, Inside motor case surfaces, Motor, Edges just inside case surface.
Once the cleaning and sanitizing has been accomplished, reassemble the shaver using the reverse steps used to prepare the shaver for cleaning.
Follow the blade change instructions to ensure the blade is correctly assembled for safe use.
Ensure no parts are left over after reassembling the Shaver prior to powering up for a test.
