Meet Aiden: A Get-to-Know-You Guide
All the Right Parts
Familiarize yourself with the components of your Fellow Aiden coffee maker:
- A Dial: The all-in-one dial for navigating menus, making selections, and starting your brew.
- B Display: A full-color LCD screen to see your brewing progress.
- C Removable Water Tank: A 1.5 L capacity tank, easily removable for filling at the sink.
- D Thermal Carafe with Brew-Through Lid: A double-wall carafe that keeps coffee warm for hours.
- E Filter Box: Use the blue brew basket with a standard flat-bottom filter for batch brew. For brewing 450 ml (3 cups) or less, use the green single-serve basket with a cone filter.
- F Shower Head Selector: Turn to three blue dots for batch brew and one green dot for single serve (less than 450 ml or 3 cups).
Instant Brew
Simply add your preferred amount of coffee and water, and Aiden will handle the rest.
- Add Water
- Add Basket and Filter
- Add Coffee
- Select Instant Brew
Tip: To make Instant Brew a default profile with a set coffee-to-water ratio, navigate to Settings > Instant Brew, enable Advanced Mode, and then select a profile and quantity. Your Instant Brew recipe will now brew precisely that amount of water instead of using the whole tank.
The Fellow App
Download the Fellow app at fellowproducts.com/app to connect your Aiden Precision Coffee Maker to WiFi and take control:
- Schedule Aiden to start as you wake up.
- Set times for the entire week.
- Adjust settings from anywhere.
- Manage and share brew profiles.
- Update the firmware for the latest features.
Grind Tips
- The maximum coffee dose for the blue basket is 82.5 grams for standard brewing and 110 grams for cold brew. Exceeding these limits may cause overflow.
- If you notice overflow or mess in the brewing chamber, try grinding your coffee coarser. Aiden extracts coffee efficiently, and a proper brew should leave the shower head clean.

What is a Brew Profile?
A Brew Profile is like a brew recipe. Customize variables to create your own and share them. Fellow provides starter profiles, and you can download more from top roasters via the Fellow app. Once selected, Aiden adapts the profile to your coffee quantity.
Customizable variables include:
- Temperature
- Ratio (default 1:16 coffee-to-water)
- Pre-infusion ratio (default 1:2)
- Pre-infusion duration (default 30 seconds)
- Pre-infusion temperature
- Number of pulses (default 3 for single serve, 1 for batch brew)
- Time between pulses (default 23 seconds)
- Pulse temperature
Focus on temperature and ratio when creating a new profile. For larger batches with ratios lower than 1:18, the basket may require extra cleaning.
While you can create profiles on Aiden, the Fellow app offers an optimal experience.
What is a Bloom?
Wetting coffee grounds to release carbon dioxide for a balanced, better-extracted, and more flavorful cup.
What is a Pulse?
A pulse is a dose of water delivered to the coffee bed to agitate the grounds and achieve higher extraction, especially for single-serve brewing.
Tips + Tricks
- Cleaning: Descale Aiden every three months. Find instructions at fellowproducts.com/aiden-guide.
- Cold Brew: Select "Cold Brew" under "Guided Brew". This method is slow and steady for smoother flavors.
- Filters: Aiden uses #2 cone filters for single-serve and 8-12 cup basket filters for batch brew. Purchase at fellowproducts.com or local grocery stores.
- Cabinet Protection: A silicone seal prevents steam from damaging cabinets.
- Brew Interruption: If the carafe is removed or the filter basket lid is opened before brewing is complete, Aiden will pause the brew until the carafe is replaced or the lid is closed.
