Eurovent Certification and Environmental Responsibility
Carrier delivers high efficiency and performance, certified by EUROVENT. Carrier actively participates in developing Eurovent certifications to help establish standards and achieve global compatibility.
What is Eurovent Certification?
Eurovent Certification certifies the performance ratings of air-conditioning and refrigeration products according to European and international standards. This builds customer confidence by leveling the competitive playing field for all manufacturers and by increasing the integrity and accuracy of industrial performance ratings. Products certified by Eurovent will feature the Eurovent Certification logo, ensuring equipment operates according to design specifications and energy costs are correctly stated.
Environmental Friendly Products: R32 Refrigerant
R-32 refrigerant has a Global Warming Potential (GWP) of 675, which is three times lower than R-410A (GWP 2088) and is more energy efficient than R410A. A bar chart illustrates the GWP (100) values for different refrigerants: R290(HFC) is 3, R32(HFC) is 675, R410(HFC) is 2088, and R22(HFC) is 1700. DOP values are all 0 except for R22(HFC) which is 0.055.
Efficient and Reliable Solutions for Any Application
Carrier provides sustainable commercial heating and air-conditioning solutions for light commercial and commercial buildings. Carrier's 3D DC Inverter technology significantly increases energy efficiency and performance across a wide operation range. Units are electronically controlled by a microprocessor that senses indoor and outdoor temperature to achieve maximum comfort and energy savings even in extreme ambient conditions.
Designed for Maximum Energy Savings and Comfort
Carrier air-conditioning units provide heating and cooling in a wide range from -15 to +46 °C without sacrificing efficiency. They use ultra-quiet inverter compressors with 9 slots and 6 poles, operating at variable speeds for precise temperature control, up to 70% energy savings, and powerful dehumidification. The compressor speed modulates automatically, drawing energy only when needed. Indoor and outdoor fans are equipped with DC motors for further energy efficiency.
A diagram illustrates the compressor evolution from 6 slots 4 poles to 9 slots 6 poles, leading to a 3D DC Inverter compressor motor. Another diagram shows power consumption comparison, indicating 40W for indoor DC fan motor and 10W for outdoor DC fan motor. Key benefits include Less Noise, Less Vibration, IPX4 Protection Class, and >70% Efficiency.
DC Twin-Rotary Compressors
All units between 24,000 to 64,000 BTU are equipped with state-of-the-art DC Twin-Rotary compressors, contributing to high efficiency and reliability.
- Highly Efficient DC Motor: Creative motor core design, high-density neodymium magnet, concentrated type stator, wider operating frequency range.
- Better Balance and Extremely Low Vibration: Twin eccentric cams, 2 balance weights.
- Highly Stable Moving Parts: Optimal material matching rollers and vanes, optimized compressor drive technology, highly robust bearings, compact structure.
The two-rotary compression cylinders, offset by 180°, and the DC brushless motor with a perfectly balanced shaft, reduce vibration and noise at very low speeds. This allows for a wide range between minimum and maximum capacity, optimizing the system for maximum comfort with precise temperature control and high efficiency.
Advanced Electronic Management
Two distinct electronic management logics optimize operation for comfort with minimum energy consumption:
- Pulse Amplitude Modulation (PAM): Uses direct current to generate maximum power for the compressor at start-up and in peak load conditions.
- Pulse Width Modulation (PWM): Optimizes compressor efficiency once the preset temperature is reached, ensuring optimum performance while saving energy.
Sensors on the refrigerant circuit electronically detect the system's operational state. A micro-controller unit processes sensor inputs using advanced algorithms to optimize refrigerant flow, compressor operation, fan motors, and the pulse modulation valve.
Flexible and Easy Installation for All Applications
Carrier units incorporate advanced features to reduce installation time and increase flexibility, designed to match all project requirements.
- Low Profile Units: New ducted units have the lowest height design (down to 210mm) for low-ceiling installations.
- Fresh Air Intake Ports: A ventilation motor can be installed in the fresh-air duct, connected to the ventilation connector, and work with the indoor fan to increase fresh air volume.
- Floor & Ceiling Installation: Console units can be seamlessly installed on the floor or ceiling.
- 360° Air Flow: Cassette sizes from 24,000 to 60,000 BTU distribute airflow evenly in all directions, eliminating “blind-spots” and achieving equal room temperature. A diagram shows a unit installed horizontally on the ceiling or vertically against the wall, and another illustrates 360° airflow.
- Reserved Air Outlet for Duct: An outlet on the side of the indoor unit allows connection of an air duct to provide air conditioning to nearby rooms from a single unit.
- Piping: Indoor units offer connections for pipes from any direction, simple wiring, built-in drain pumps, and reserved slots for fresh air intake. Outdoor units support piping lengths up to 65 meters with a height difference up to 30 meters. A diagram shows an outdoor unit connected to an indoor unit with piping, indicating 65m length and 30m height difference.
- Reserved Dry Contact Ports: Remote switches can be easily connected. The built-in PCB can produce alarm signals for external alarm lights or vibration gauges.
- Built-in Drain Pump: Removes condensing water up to 750mm high. Drainage piping is easy to install even in narrow spaces. A diagram shows a drain pump removing water up to 750mm high.
- Easy Access: Internal components are easily accessible by removing front panels.
Complete Control Solutions
Carrier units are easily controlled via remote control with a backlit LCD display. Ducted units come with a wired control with a large LCD display, also available for all units. An optional wired control with modern design and large LCD display is also available.
BMS Controls
For greater flexibility in building installations, Carrier's new A6 ducted units are equipped with BMS Gateways compatible with multiple communication protocols including BACnet, LonWorks, and Modbus.
