Superstep Rigid Klikkvinyl Installation Manual and Guidelines

Preparations Before Installation

Allow the floorboards to lie for at least 24 hours at room temperature, unopened in original packaging. Room temperature should be between 10 and 25 degrees Celsius. Packages are opened continuously during installation. Klikkvinyl can be laid under, on, or over the subfloor. Klikkgulv should not be laid in wet rooms. The floor should not be laid in rooms where the temperature drops below 10 degrees or exceeds 35 degrees Celsius. Sun screening is important on extra warm days to protect the floor from overheating.

Subfloor Preparations – The Floor Must Be Even and Firm

Before delivery, ensure that the building where the floors are to be laid is completed. Over a 2m length, subfloor deviations must not exceed +/-2 mm, measured with a straightedge with 20 mm cleats and a feeler gauge. All moisture- and water-related work such as concreting, plastering, painting, plumbing, drainage, etc., must be completed. All openings must be sealed (roof, windows, doors). As a rule of thumb, laying the floor should be one of the last things to be handed over and installed in new buildings. It is important that the installer checks the subfloor for weaknesses and unevenness, and rectifies this before installing the floor. Approved subfloors are hard and firm subfloors such as concrete, chipboard, OSB boards, floor plasterboard, or existing floors that meet the requirements for flatness, firmness, and hardness.

Underfloor Heating

Rigid klikkvinyl can be laid on underfloor heating. Embedded cables or embedded waterborne heating are recommended and ensure a sufficiently pressure-resistant substrate. Maximum temperature 27°C. Foil heating systems consist of several layered components and can be too soft overall.

Expansion

Rigid klikkvinyl is a stable material that moves less than other floors such as parquet. However, the floors must be laid with a minimum 8mm clearance to all fixed installations such as walls, wardrobes, stoves, kitchens, door frames, etc. For installations in areas larger than 60sqm, it is recommended to increase this to a minimum of 10mm. If the area is larger than 100sqm or any of the lengths are longer than 12m, expansion joints must be used or advice sought from the dealer.

Precautions

All floors can be scratched, dented, or marked. Even though Rigid Klikkvinyl is an extremely durable floor, felt pads and doormats should be used preventatively to reduce dirt, sand, and prevent unnecessary wear on the floor. The installer is responsible for ensuring the subfloor meets the requirements and must inspect all floorboards before they are laid.

Maintenance and Use

Klikkvinyl requires no maintenance other than cleaning by vacuuming and floor washing. Damage/dents can be repaired with melt wax or similar. Do not use steam cleaners on the floor; the floor is easily kept clean with regular washing. When using carpets, do not use carpets/mats with a rubber backing, as these can discolor the floor. Use office chair mats or 5cm wide wheels that do not discolor the floor (not rubber wheels). In seasons with strong direct sunlight and large window areas, it is recommended to use curtains or other sun screening to minimize the strong direct sunlight on parts of the floor. Very heavy furniture with "sharp" legs should have support/weight distribution between the legs and the floor to avoid creating indentations over time. 5G Herringbone Installation Instructions

These instructions are for the installation of herringbone resilient flooring.

Important Information

1. Build Starting Triangles

Take B-strips and A-strips and position them as shown. Note! The number of strips varies depending on the width of the strips used. Install the strips precisely and in the order indicated by the numbers on the strips. Carefully check the joints between the strips after every strip that is added. Note! No protruding edge may be felt! Cut the triangle according to the indicated red line. Depending on the kind of saw you use, it may be useful to dismantle the triangle before sawing. Note! The excess (below the line) is to be saved for the last row installation.

2. Measuring the Room

Define the wall from where you intend to start the installation. Mark out the center of the room.

3. Calculating the Number of Triangles

Measure the distance between the two straight lines, originating from the corners of the strips. Divide this number by two, and get the X measurement. Calculate the number of needed starting triangles with the formula: (L + X) / Y = Quantity. Note! Round up to the next full number.

Drawing the Installation Line

Start from the center of the room. Parallel offset the line using the X measurement as distance.

4. Start Installation

Lay out the triangles with their long side towards the starting wall. Align the center triangle top with the installation line. Make sure the underlay material is installed beforehand and the installation line remains visible. Note! Use expansion wedges for the expansion gap.

5. Finalizing the Start Row

Cut the distances C-D and E-F from the remaining triangle(s), and position them. Note! In case you have calculated and built an uneven number of triangles, leave the outer two triangles aside. For the case that you have built an even number of triangles, lay one aside.

Further Installation of Pattern

The boards need to be locked into one another, using the 5Gi system. To connect a new board, you have to use a rubber hammer. Use a rubber hammer and slightly knock at the 5Gi system to connect the short side. Start in the corner and work towards the end of the board.

Last Row Installation

This alternating installation of A-strips and B-strips continues throughout the whole room. It is important to check frequently that: all expansion wedges remain in their position. all joints are closed and the strips are locked into one another. you follow the installation line. the tops of the strips in one line remain straight and perpendicular to the installation line. Note! Measure approx every fifth row.

Excess pieces from starting triangles: Dismantle the excess material from the starting triangles. Use it to close the open gaps to the finishing wall. Use the leftover from strips 1, 2 etc. consecutively and cut to size if necessary.

Installation Around Radiator/Heating Pipes

Drill holes two times larger than the diameter of the pipes. Remove a piece of the strip with a utility knife or a saw. Put the strip on one side of the pipes and the removed piece on the other side.

When Angling is Not Possible

Remove the locking element according to the picture. Use an applicable glue to connect the strips. Press- place wedges between the glued strip and the wall.
