It allows access to M.2 SSDs of up to 2 TB, no matter which host you connect it to. The IB-1817MC-C31 is compatible with all M.2 SSDs in lengths of 30, 42, 60 and 80 mm, is operating system independent and suitable for a variety of applications such as high-speed storage, cloning a drive or running a mobile operating system. With the IB-1817MC-C31, sensitive data on the installed M.2 SSD can be protected from changes and can be released again by means of a switch. With the included, practical mini tool and a small hand movement, the corresponding switch can be moved to the desired position. Click - Secure. Installation Important: During the drive assembly all cabling has to be disconnected from the computer. Quick installation guide IB-1817MC-C31 1. Remove the two screws A from the 1 front cover. 2. Remove the PCB. 2 3. Carefully place your SSD into the 3 M.2 slot with the connection side and at an angle of approx. 30° so that it inserts without resistance. Insert the round rubber fixation into the semi-cir- cular recess at the end of the M.2 SSD. 4. carefully push the M.2 SSD with the 4 rubber fixation down until the rubber fixation fits through the hole of the PCB. Please make sure to align the fixture to the PCB hole before pressing the fixture through the PCB hole. Quick installation guide IB-1817MC-C31 5. Place the delivered thermal pad 5 directly on the M.2 NVMe SSD. 6. Put the heat sink plate on the thermal 6 pad and align the notch to the fixture. 7. Install the PCB back into the track 7 inside the housing. Pay attention to the correct alignment! 8. Reattach the front cover with the two 8 screws A. When mounting the cover, make sure that the write protection switch is placed in the rectangular recess. Note! Change the write-protect setting before connecting the device to the computer. * Quick installation guide IB-1817MC-C31 2. Usage 1. Connect the IB-1817MC-C31 via the delivered cable to the correspon- ding port of your host computer. 2. When the IB-1817MC-C31 has been plugged in correctly, the LED will light up white. 3. As soon as the write protection has been activated by switch, the LED lights up red*. *Important! A change of the write-protect mode will only be activated when the device has been disconnected and then reconnected to the host computer. 3. Application 1. An external SSD can be connected to or disconnected from the com- puter without shutting down the computer. 2. Please await the end of read/write operations before disconnecting the SSD to avoid data loss. 3. A new SSD must first be initialized, partitioned and formatted by the operating system to be displayed by the system. 4. If the drive is not recognised instantly by the operating system, please check: - if the driver software is installed (USB) - if the SSD is initialized, partitioned and formatted. Info: Drives must be initialized and have active partitions to be immediately recognised as volumes in the operating system. If this is not the case, initialize the drives in the volume management of your operating system. · The external drive can be connected to or disconnected from the com- puter via USB cable without shutting down the computer. · Please await the end of read/write operations before disconnecting the drive to avoid data loss. The full USB 3.2 Gen 2 transfer rate can only be achieved with a compatible USB 3.2 Gen 2 host computer. Furthermore, the USB 3.1 drivers must be installed by the operating system. Entfernen Sie die zwei Schrau- 1 ben A und öffnen Sie die vordere Abdeckung. 2 2. Entnehmen Sie die Platine. 3. Platzieren Sie Ihre SSD vorsichtig mit 3 der Anschlussseite und in einem Winkel von ca. 30° in den M.2 Slot, so dass sie sich widerstandslos einfügt. Setzen Sie die runde Gummi-Fixierung in die halbkreisförmige Aussparung am Ende der M.2 SSD ein. 4. drücken Sie die M.2 SSD mit der 4 Gummi-Fixierung vorsichtig nach unten, bis sich die Gummi-Fixierung durch das Loch der PCB einpasst. Setzen Sie den mitgelieferten 6 Kühlkörper auf das Wärmeleitpad und richten Sie dessen Kerbe auf die M.2 Halterung aus. 7. Schieben Sie die Platine mitsamt der SSD vorsichtig bis zum Anschlag in die 7 Führungsschiene des Gehäuses. Achten Sie auf die korrekte Ausrichtung! 8. Befestigen Sie wieder die vordere Abdeckung. 8 Stellen Sie sicher, dass der Schreib- schutzschalter in der entsprechenden Aussparung der Abdeckung platziert ist. Hinweis! Verbinden Sie die IB-1817MC-C31 mittels des beiliegenden Kabels mit dem entsprechenden Anschluss Ihres Computers. 2. Wurde die IB-1817MC-C31 richtig eingesteckt, leuchtet die LED weiß auf. 3. Sobald der Schreibschutz per Schalter aktiviert wurde, leuchtet die LED rot auf*. *Wichtig! Die Änderung des Schreibschutzmodus erfolgt nur, wenn das Gerät getrennt und dann wieder mit dem Hostcomputer verbunden wurde. 3. Anwendung 1. Die externe SSD kann im laufenden Betrieb des Rechners angeschlos- sen oder von diesem getrennt werden. 2. Bitte das Ende von Schreib- und Lesevorgängen abwarten, bevor ein angeschlossenes Gehäuse vom Rechner getrennt wird, um Datenverlust zu vermeiden. 3. Eine neue SSD muss vom Betriebssystem erst initialisiert, partitioniert und formatiert werden, um vom System angezeigt zu werden. 4. Wenn die SSD nicht sofort vom System erkannt wird, bitte prüfen: - ob die Treibersoftware installiert ist (USB) - ob die SSD initialisiert, partitioniert und formatiert ist Info: Laufwerke müssen initialisiert sein und aktive Partitionen besitzen, damit diese sofort als Datenträger im Betriebssystem erkannt werden. Falls dies nicht der Fall sein sollte, initialisieren Sie die Laufwerke in der Datenträgerverwaltung Ihres Betriebssystems. · Das externe Laufwerk kann im laufenden Betrieb des Rechners an die- sen via USB Kabel angeschlossen oder von diesem getrennt werden. · Bitte das Ende von Schreib- und Lesevorgängen abwarten, bevor ein angeschlossenes Gehäuse vom Rechner getrennt wird, um Datenverlust zu vermeiden. Die volle USB 3.2 Gen 2 Transferrate kann nur mit einem kompatiblen USB 3.2 Gen 2 Hostcomputer erreicht werden. Des Weiteren müssen die USB 3.1 Treiber seitens des Betriebssystems installiert sein.
