2 Quick Setup for EX1800T
This section details two methods for setting up the EX1800T extender: using a phone or using WPS.
Option 1: Using your phone
- Plug the extender into an electrical outlet. Wait until the PWR indicator becomes blink slowly (〰️), which means the extender is working normally.
- Go to WLAN Settings on your phone. Find the SSID
TOTOLINK_EX1800T
orTOTOLINK_EX1800T_5G
and connect to it.Screenshot shows phone WLAN settings with available networks. The user needs to select either TOTOLINK_EX1800T or TOTOLINK_EX1800T_5G.
- Open any browser and enter
http://itotolink.net
or192.168.0.254
in the address bar. The configuration interface will appear. Click "Repeater Mode" and then select the Wi-Fi band you want to extend.Screenshots show the web interface. The first shows the IP address/URL bar and a button to select "Repeater Mode". The second shows options for AP Mode and Repeater Mode. The third shows selecting the primary network frequency (2.4GHz or 5GHz).
- Select your superior router's 2.4GHz or 5GHz primary network and enter the password, then click "Next". You can choose to keep the same SSID as your primary network or create a new name for the extended networks. To create a new SSID, click "Modify SSID & Password of extended Wi-Fi".
Screenshots show selecting a primary network (e.g., TOTOLINK_TEST) and entering its password. Options are presented to keep the original SSID or modify it for the extended network.
- Please check whether the configuration information is correct. If it is correct, it is recommended to take a screenshot to save the information, then click "OK". Wait for a while, and follow the instructions on the "Setting Result" page to check if the extension is successful. If the 2.4G/5G indicator is on, the extension is successful. Please reconnect to Wi-Fi and adjust the extender's position according to Part 3 of this manual.
The "Setting Result" page shows the configuration details for both the primary and extended networks (SSID and password). It indicates current signal quality (e.g., Low) and whether the configuration was applied successfully. It also provides instructions to check the relay indicator and reconnect to Wi-Fi.
Option 2: Using WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup)
Please use Option 1 if your router doesn't support WPS function.
- Plug the extender into an electrical outlet near your router (we suggest within two meters), and wait until it works normally.
- Press the corresponding WPS button (2.4G/5G) of the extender according to your Wi-Fi extension needs, and then press the WPS button on the router. (If your superior router is 2.4G band, please press the 2.4G WPS button; if it's 5G band, press the 5G WPS button).
- Wait a moment. It indicates OK when the 2.4G/5G indicator remains solid on.
- After completing the configuration, move the extender to a suitable location according to Part 3 of this manual. Wait about 1 minute and observe the 2.4G/5G LED's color to ensure that the extender is in a suitable place.
3 Adjust the Position of the Extender
After completing the configuration, the extender can be moved to another place without needing to be reconfigured when unplugged and plugged back in. After the extender restarts, it will extend your wireless network automatically.
For better Wi-Fi expansion, please place the extender in a location where the signal is good. Refer to the color of the 2.4G/5G indicator to determine the best placement:
- Blue Solid on ?: Signal is good, location is appropriate.
- Orange Solid on ?: Signal is weak, please move the extender closer to the superior router to ensure steady data transmission.
- Light is Off ❌: Extension failed, unable to connect to the superior router. Please move the extender closer to the superior router to ensure steady data transmission.
Warm tips:
- Please put your extender in a place where there is no obstacle.
- To avoid band interference, your extender needs to maintain a certain distance from home appliances that generally operate in the 2.4GHz band, such as microwave ovens and Bluetooth devices.
