Beko Refrigerator Installation and Safety Guide
Essential information for safe installation, operation, and energy saving for your Beko refrigerator.
Safety Precautions and Usage Guidelines
Please read the following safety instructions carefully to ensure proper and safe use of your refrigerator.
General Safety
- If the refrigerator is not to be used for a long time, it should be unplugged. A faulty power cable may cause fire.
- The plug's tip should be cleaned regularly with a dry cloth; otherwise, it may cause fire.
- Ensure adjustable legs are properly secured on the floor to prevent the refrigerator from moving.
- When carrying the refrigerator, do not hold it by the door handle, as it may detach.
- When placing the product next to another refrigerator or freezer, maintain a distance of at least 8 cm between devices to prevent condensation on adjacent side walls.
For Products with a Water Dispenser
- Water mains pressure should be a minimum of 1 bar and a maximum of 8 bars.
- Use only potable water.
Child Safety
- If the door has a lock, keep the key out of children's reach.
- Children must be supervised to prevent them from tampering with the product.
HCA Warning (for systems containing R600a)
[Warning] If your product's cooling system contains R600a: This gas is flammable. Exercise caution to avoid damaging the cooling system and piping during usage and transportation. In case of damage, keep the product away from potential fire sources and ventilate the room where the unit is placed.
[Note] Ignore this warning if your product's cooling system contains R134a. The type of gas used is stated on the type label inside the refrigerator.
Never dispose of the product by throwing it into a fire.
Energy Saving Tips
- Do not leave the refrigerator doors open for extended periods.
- Avoid placing hot food or drinks inside the refrigerator.
- Do not overload the refrigerator, ensuring proper air circulation.
- Install the refrigerator away from direct sunlight or heat-emitting appliances (e.g., ovens, dishwashers, radiators). Maintain at least 30 cm distance from heat sources and 5 cm from electrical ovens.
- Keep food in closed containers.
- For freezer compartments: Storing the maximum amount of food items can be achieved by removing the freezer shelf or drawer. The stated energy consumption value is determined under these conditions and with maximum load. Using shelves or drawers according to food size is not harmful.
- Thawing frozen food in the refrigerator compartment helps save energy and preserve food quality.
Installation and Electrical Connection
[Important] Failure to adhere to the information in this user manual may absolve the manufacturer of liability.
Points to Consider During Refrigerator Relocation
- Your refrigerator must be unplugged. Before transportation, it should be emptied and cleaned.
- Before re-packaging, secure shelves, accessories, and crispers inside the refrigerator with adhesive tape to prevent movement. The package should be bound with thick tape or ropes, and transportation rules on the package must be strictly observed.
- Keep the original packaging and foam materials for future transportations or moving.
Before Starting the Refrigerator
Check the following before initial use:
- Ensure the interior is dry and air can circulate freely at the rear.
- Clean the interior as recommended in the "Maintenance and Cleaning" section.
- Connect the refrigerator plug to the wall socket. The internal lamp will turn on when the fridge door is opened.
- A sound will be heard when the compressor starts operating. Noise from the liquid and gases in the refrigeration system is normal, even when the compressor is not running.
- Front edges of the refrigerator may feel warm; this is normal and designed to prevent condensation.
Electrical Connection
Connect your product to a grounded socket protected by a fuse of appropriate capacity.
Important:
- The connection must comply with national regulations.
- The power plug must be easily accessible after installation.
- Electrical safety is guaranteed only if your home's earth system complies with standards.
- The voltage stated on the label inside the product must match your network voltage.
- Extension cables and multi-plugs must not be used for connection.
[Warning] A damaged power cable must be replaced by a qualified electrician.
[Warning] The product must not be operated before it is repaired due to the risk of electric shock!
