1. LIMITED WARRANTY COVERAGE

The PYTES1 Lithium Iron Phosphate Batteries V5α Plus, as supplied and distributed by PYTES and its authorized distributors, are warranted by Shanghai PYTES Energy Co., Ltd. against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship.

Within Australia, the limited warranty period begins on:

The warranty ends on the earlier of: 10 years from the warranty activation date; or 6000 cycles; or 90% DOD2 at 77°F / 25°C retaining 70% capacity.

Preconditions for a valid Limited Warranty:

If storing the battery for more than 6 months after receipt, use a 48V DC battery charger to charge it before selling to the customer. Contact PYTES for charger information.

To be eligible, all PYTES Products must be installed as per the guidelines in the V Series manual and installation guide.

Capacity measurement condition:

Ambient temperature: 77°F / 25°C

Charge / Discharge method:

  1. Discharge the battery with Constant current until the battery reaches End of discharge voltage or battery self-protection automatically.
  2. Lay aside the battery for 10 minutes.
  3. Charge the battery with Constant current and Constant charge voltage until the Cut off current or battery self-protection automatically.
  4. Lay aside the battery for 10 minutes.
  5. Discharge the battery with Constant current until End of discharge voltage or battery self-protection automatically. Calculate discharged capacity. Monitor current timely (if constant current).
  6. Current Capacity = Discharge time × Constant current value.
  7. Charge the battery with Constant current and Constant charge voltage until the Cut off current or battery self-protection automatically.
  8. Measure current and voltage at battery DC side.

[1] Under this condition, it can be achieved that 70% SOH can still be achieved within the warranty period.

[2] It is recommended to charge the battery at 56.8V to avoid overcharging or over-discharging.

This Limited Warranty applies only to the Product5 (a) purchased from PYTES or an authorized distributor/reseller/installer, (b) properly installed by a licensed professional installer, and (c) installed in Australia. This Limited Warranty does not cover faults in design or installer error, such as, but not limited to, reverse polarity, misuse of system-wide equipment, or inaccurate programming of auxiliary equipment.

The liability of PYTES under this Limited Warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of the Product, at PYTES’ sole discretion. PYTES is not responsible for any other types of losses or costs. If the PYTES product is found to be defective due to manufacturing defect, PYTES will either (i) repair the Product, (ii) replace the Product, (iii) replace the Product with a similar PYTES Product, or (iv) credit the remaining depreciated value towards a new PYTES Product. If a PYTES Product is replaced, the defective Product becomes the property of PYTES and must be returned.

2. Remedies

If the Product fails to comply with the Limited Warranty, PYTES will, at its sole discretion, repair the Product (using new or refurbished parts), replace it with an equivalent product (new or refurbished), or refund the market price of an equivalent product at the time of the warranty claim. PYTES will not bear the cost of shipping for the claim itself.

If the Product is repaired or replaced, PYTES will bear the shipping cost of returning the Product to the original purchaser's warehouse. The remainder of the original warranty period will apply to the repaired or replacement product. The original warranty period will not be extended. If the Product fails during transportation and needs replacement, PYTES will not bear the cost of shipping or repairing.

3. Exclusions of Warranty

This Limited Warranty does not apply to any defect or energy capacity shortfall resulting from any of the following, which may void the warranty:

  1. Abuse, misuse, negligence, accidents, or force majeure events (e.g., lightning, flood, earthquake, fire, extreme cold weather).
  2. Storage, installation, commissioning, modification, repair, or opening of the external casing by anyone other than PYTES or a PYTES certified partner.
  3. Failure to operate or maintain the product in accordance with the User Manual.
  4. Any attempt to modify the product (physically, by programming, or otherwise) without PYTES' express written consent.
  5. Removal and reinstallation of the product at a location other than the original installation location without PYTES' express written consent.
  6. Inverter or charger failure.
  7. Transportation damage, including but not limited to dropping, trampling, deforming, impacting, or spearing with a sharp item.
  8. The Product has been connected with different types of battery modules.
  9. The product has been disassembled without permission from PYTES or an authorized reseller, or if the QC label on the battery is damaged.
  10. Defects caused by water, conductive dust, or corrosive gases.
  11. The Product is installed other than in a fixed installation of a battery energy storage system.
  12. Charging: The battery must be charged within sixty (60) days after receiving the product and subsequently charged at least once every 6 months. Failure to do so will void the warranty for the battery and any associated damage or malfunction.

In addition, this Limited Warranty does not cover:

  1. Normal wear and tear or deterioration, or superficial defects, dents, or marks that do not impact the performance of the Product.
  2. Noise or vibration that is not excessive or uncharacteristic and does not impact the product's performance.
  3. Damage or deterioration that occurs after the expiration or voiding of the warranty period.
  4. Theft of the Product or any of its components.
  5. Accessories or tool kit items provided with the Product.

4. General Provisions

This warranty is subject to the law of the location of Shanghai PYTES Energy Co., Ltd.

If any provision in this document is unenforceable, illegal, or void, that provision is severed, and the rest of this document remains in force. This applies per jurisdiction.

5. Consumer Protection Law6

PYTES goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

Some countries or jurisdictions may not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts or the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages. These governmental entities may provide for additional warranty rights and remedies. The provisions in this Limited Warranty are not intended to limit, modify, disclaim, or exclude any mandatory warranty requirements provided by these jurisdictions, including certain implied Warranties. This Limited Warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary based upon location.

Your acceptance and use of the PYTES Product constitute acceptance of the terms, conditions, and limitations of this Limited Warranty.

6. Claims Process

To make a claim under this Limited Warranty, please contact the PYTES authorized distributor/installer/reseller who sold you the Product. If you cannot reach them, or if you purchased the Product directly from PYTES, contact PYTES at the address, email address, or telephone number below.

For a warranty claim to be processed, it must include:

Prior to returning any Product to PYTES, obtain an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) number either through the PYTES authorized distributor/installer/reseller or directly from PYTES.

After receiving the RMA number, pack the Product for return in the original PYTES Product shipping container or equivalent packaging. You only need to bear the shipping cost of returning the Product to the warehouse of original purchaser. PYTES is not responsible for shipping damage caused by improperly packaged Products, nor the cost of repairs for such damage.
