Environmental Considerations:

Specific Warnings for R32:

Refrigerant Information:

This product contains fluorinated greenhouse gases. R32 has a Global Warming Potential (GWP) of 675. R410A has a GWP of 2088. The amount of refrigerant and CO2 equivalent is listed on the outdoor unit's nameplate.

Operational Precautions:

    • Do not operate the system without the air filter, as this can lead to system malfunction due to heat exchanger blockage.

Transport and Repair Precautions:

  • WARNING:
    • Do not attempt repairs or modifications yourself. Consult your dealer for any necessary repairs. Improper repairs can lead to water leaks, electric shock, or fire.

Tips for Effective Operation

Follow these tips for economical and efficient operation:

  • Room Temperature: Avoid extreme temperatures; maintain a comfortable room temperature for health and energy saving.
  • Filter Maintenance: Clean filters regularly. Clogged filters restrict airflow and reduce efficiency.
  • Sunlight and Drafts: Avoid direct sunlight and drafts. Use curtains or blinds during cooling operation. Keep windows and doors closed, except for ventilation.
  • Airflow Direction: Adjust airflow (up/down, left/right) for even room temperature distribution.
  • Operation Timing: Use timers appropriately for efficient operation.
  • Heat Sources: Remove any heat sources from the room during cooling operation.

Parts Identification

Indoor Unit:

The indoor unit features an air inlet flap, air filter, fan, room temperature sensor, air outlet, heat exchanger (aluminum fins), vertical louvers for left/right airflow adjustment, horizontal louvers for up/down airflow adjustment, a motion sensor, and a display panel. It also houses air purification filters (Allergen filter and Photocatalytic odor-removing filter).

Outdoor Unit:

The outdoor unit includes air inlets (rear and side), a fan, a heat exchanger (aluminum fins), a drain opening, a model name label, refrigerant pipe connections, and a drain hose.

Remote Control:

The remote control includes an ON/OFF button, mode selection buttons (MODE), temperature adjustment buttons (TEMP), fan speed control (FAN SPEED), airflow direction control (AIR FLOW U/D, AIR FLOW L/R), special mode buttons (HI/ECO, 3D AUTO, SILENT, ALLERGEN CLEAR, NIGHT SETBACK), timer buttons (ON TIMER, OFF TIMER, SLEEP TIMER, WEEKLY TIMER), a MENU button, a SET button, a CANCEL button, and an ACL reset switch. The display shows operating status, temperature, and timer settings. The remote control has a signal receiver.

Accessories:

The unit comes with a remote control, batteries (R03/AAA), and a remote control holder. Air purification filters (Allergen and Photocatalytic) are also included.

Operation Notes:

A summer tone (PipPip) sounds when the preset temperature is 24°C, AUTO mode is selected, or automatic airflow is chosen. A tone (Pip) sounds when the unit is turned off via the ON/OFF button (except in SELF CLEAN mode).

Warnings for Remote Control:

  • Do not expose the remote control to direct sunlight or strong light sources.
  • Do not spray the remote control with water or liquids.
  • Do not drop or handle the remote control roughly.
  • Do not place heavy objects on the remote control or step on it.
  • Do not place the remote control near high-temperature areas like electric blankets or heaters.
  • Ensure there are no obstacles between the remote control and the air conditioner.

Remote Control Operation

Inserting Batteries:

  1. Remove the battery cover.
  2. Insert two R03 (AAA) batteries, observing polarity.
  3. Replace the battery cover.
  4. Press the ACL switch with a ballpoint pen tip to reset.

Remote Control Holder:

The holder can be mounted on a wall or pillar. Ensure the air conditioner can receive signals from the chosen location.

Troubleshooting Remote Control:

If the remote control is not functioning:

  • Check if batteries are empty and replace them.
  • If operation fails, use the temporary operation function on the main unit.
  • Contact your dealer for inspection.

Temporary Operation:

The ON/OFF button on the unit can be used temporarily when the remote control is unavailable. The unit operates in AUTO mode with AUTO fan speed and airflow. Pressing the ON/OFF button starts and stops the unit.

Setting Current Time:

  1. Press the TIME SETP UP button.
  2. Use the ▲ or ▼ (TIMER) buttons to select the day of the week.
  3. Press the SET button to confirm the day and start blinking the time.
  4. Use the ▲ or ▼ (TIMER) buttons to set the time.
  5. Press the SET button to finalize the time setting.

Auto Restart Function:

This function automatically resumes operation from the previous state after a power outage. Timer settings and HIGH POWER mode are reset.

Auto Operation (AUTO):

The unit automatically selects COOL or HEAT mode based on the room temperature when turned on. Press MODE to cycle through modes, then ON/OFF to start.

Temperature Adjustment in AUTO Mode:

The default AUTO temperature is 24°C. Use the ▲ or ▼ (TIMER) buttons to adjust between 18°C and 30°C.

Fan Speed (FAN SPEED):

Press the FAN SPEED button to cycle through fan speeds: AUTO, ULo, Lo, Me, Hi. Note: DRY mode does not allow fan speed adjustment.

Operating Modes (COOL/HEAT/DRY/FAN):

  1. Press MODE to select the desired mode (COOL, HEAT, DRY, FAN).
  2. Press ON/OFF to start/stop.
  3. Press TEMP to adjust the temperature. Recommended settings: COOL (26-28°C), HEAT (22-24°C), DRY (24-26°C).
  4. Press FAN SPEED to set fan speed.

Operating Temperature Range:

Ensure operation within specified outdoor (-15 to 46°C for COOL, -20 to 24°C for HEAT) and indoor (18 to 32°C for COOL, 10 to 30°C for HEAT) temperature ranges to prevent malfunctions.

HEAT Mode Characteristics:

The unit uses a heat pump system. Heating performance decreases in colder temperatures. Defrosting may occur, temporarily interrupting heating. Steam may appear during defrosting.

Airflow Direction Setting:

Use AIR FLOW U/D and AIR FLOW L/R buttons to adjust airflow direction. The unit remembers the last set position (Memory Flap). Specific settings are recommended based on installation location (center, left, right).

3D AUTO Operation:

Automatically controls fan speed and airflow direction for efficient room conditioning. Press 3D AUTO to activate/deactivate. This mode is available in AUTO, COOL, or HEAT modes.

Timers (SLEEP, OFF, ON):

SLEEP TIMER: Automatically turns off the unit after a set time, adjusting temperature for comfort. Press SLEEP to set. The timer light (yellow) indicates activation. Cannot be used with ALLERGEN CLEAR or simultaneously with OFF TIMER.

OFF TIMER: Turns the unit off at a set time. Press OFF TIMER, then use ▲/▼ (TIMER) to set time, and SET to confirm. The timer light (yellow) indicates activation.

ON TIMER: Starts the unit at a set time, with pre-operation to reach optimal temperature. Press ON TIMER, then use ▲/▼ (TIMER) to set time, and SET to confirm. The timer light (yellow) indicates activation.

Combined Timers: SLEEP TIMER & ON TIMER, and ON TIMER + OFF TIMER can be set.

Comfort Start: For ON TIMER, the unit starts 5-60 minutes before the set time to reach the desired temperature.

ALLERGEN CLEAR Operation:

Uses enzyme power to eliminate allergens on the filter. Press ALLERGEN CLEAR. This operation runs for approximately 90 minutes. It cannot be used with other timers or modes like HEAT/FAN. Not available for SCM multi-systems.

WEEKLY TIMER: Allows setting up to 4 programs per day for a week. Press WEEKLY to activate/deactivate. Settings can be customized for each day or collectively.

HIGH POWER/ECO Operation:

HIGH POWER: Provides 15 minutes of strong cooling/heating. Press HI/ECO repeatedly to cycle through HIGH POWER, ECO, and Normal. HIGH POWER is automatically cancelled after 15 minutes or if other modes are selected.

ECO Operation: Saves energy by adjusting temperature based on detected motion (via motion sensor). The unit may automatically switch to ECO mode upon restart if previously set.

NIGHT SETBACK Operation: Maintains room temperature around 10°C during cold seasons when away or at night. Press NIGHT SETBACK to activate. Temperature cannot be adjusted during this mode.

SILENT Operation: Reduces noise level, particularly from the outdoor unit. Press SILENT to activate. Note that cooling/heating performance may decrease. SILENT operation is not available in DRY or FAN modes.

MENU Function:

Accesses settings for Display Brightness, AUTO OFF, SELF CLEAN, and PRESET. Use the MENU button to cycle through options, and ▲/▼ (TIMER) to adjust settings, then SET to confirm.

AUTO OFF: Automatically stops the unit after 1 or 2 hours if no motion is detected by the sensor, preventing unnecessary operation. Select the level (1H or 2H) and press SET.

SELF CLEAN: Runs for approximately 2 hours after cooling/dry operation to remove moisture and prevent mold/bacteria growth. Press MENU, then select SELF CLEAN, then SET. The RUN light indicates operation.

PRESET Operation: Allows saving preferred settings (Mode, Temp, Fan Speed, Airflow) for future use. Select PRESET via MENU, configure settings, press SET, then press MODE for over 3 seconds to activate the saved preset.

Maintenance

Before Maintenance:

  • Disconnect the unit from the power supply.
  • Do not spill liquid on the unit.
  • Do not touch the aluminum fins of the heat exchanger.
  • Use a stable ladder or surface when removing flaps or filters.
  • Do not use hot water (over 40°C), petroleum, paint thinner, gasoline, or harsh cleaning agents, as they can deform or scratch the unit.

During Operation Season:

Cleaning Air Filters:

  1. Remove air filters by lifting the air inlet flap.
  2. Clean filters with water (approx. 30°C) if heavily soiled. Dry thoroughly.
  3. Reinstall filters. Operating without filters can cause dust buildup and damage.

Cleaning the Unit:

Clean the unit with a soft, dry cloth or a vacuum cleaner. A warm cleaning solution can be used for stubborn dirt.

Cleaning the Air Inlet Flap:

Remove and reinstall the flap. Wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Do not wash the flap with water.

Opening and Closing the Air Inlet Flap:

To open, place fingers on the corners of the flap and pull upwards. To close, press evenly on the corners and then lightly in the center.

Seasonal Maintenance:

End of Season: Run the fan for 2-3 hours to dry the interior. Turn off and disconnect the unit from power. Clean filters and reinstall. Clean indoor and outdoor units. Remove batteries from the remote control.

Start of Season: Check grounding wiring. Inspect the outdoor unit base for corrosion. Ensure no obstructions around air inlets/outlets. Turn on the unit. Insert batteries into the remote control.

Air Purification Filters:

Allergen Filter (Light Orange): Removes allergens using enzyme power. Replace approximately annually or when cleaning is ineffective. Can be installed on either side.

Photocatalytic Odor-Removing Filter (Orange): Breaks down odor sources. Can be washed with water but is fragile. Exposure to sunlight renews its deodorizing effect. Can be installed on either side.

Installation and Troubleshooting

Proper Installation:

  • Ensure clear airflow around the indoor unit.
  • Do not install in locations with flammable gas, oil splatters, corrosive gas, or near salty sea breezes.
  • Keep the unit and remote control at least 1 meter away from TVs or radios.
  • Ensure condensate water drains properly.
  • Install the unit securely to prevent vibration noise.
  • Choose a location that minimizes noise disturbance to neighbors.
  • Avoid obstructions near the outdoor unit's air inlets/outlets.
  • Contact your dealer if unusual noises occur.

Inspection and Maintenance:

Regular inspection and maintenance are recommended for optimal performance and longevity.

Troubleshooting:

Unit does not operate: Check power supply, timer settings, and fuses.

Insufficient Cooling/Heating: Check thermostat setting, air filter cleanliness, closed doors/windows, direct sunlight, other heat sources, and room occupancy.

If problems persist after checking these points, switch off the unit and contact your dealer.

Hints:

  • Airflow: No airflow during initial heating or dry modes. This is normal as the unit warms up or prevents condensation.
  • Noises: Gurgling, cracking, hissing, or whistling noises may occur due to refrigerant flow, thermal expansion/contraction, or component operation.
  • Operation after Shutdown: The unit has a 3-minute delay before restarting to protect the compressor.
  • Moisture: Condensation may appear on the air outlet grill in high humidity/temperature conditions.
  • Remote Signal Issues: Ensure the remote is not obstructed or exposed to direct sunlight.
  • Self-Diagnosis: The unit has a self-diagnosis function that indicates errors via blinking lights on the RUN and TIMER indicators. Refer to the manual for specific error codes and their causes.

Contacting Your Dealer

Contact your dealer immediately if:

  • Switches or fuses are constantly activated.
  • Cables are hot or insulation is broken.
  • Other appliances are disturbed.
  • A switch malfunctions.
  • Unusual noises occur during operation.
  • After restarting the unit, the issue persists.
  • RUN and TIMER lights blink rapidly or are off.

Multi-Unit Operation:

Refrigerant Oil:

If units are not operated for a long time, cooling/heating performance may temporarily decrease due to refrigerant oil management.

Self-Diagnosis Function:

The unit has a self-diagnosis system that indicates faults via blinking lights. Refer to the table for specific error codes (e.g., RUN light blinking 1-7 times, TIMER light ON, RUN light blinking continuously) and their corresponding causes (e.g., sensor errors, circuit faults, fan motor issues, refrigerant leaks, compressor problems).
