Humminbird LCR100 Operations Manual
Model: LCR100
Introduction: How the LCR-100 Works
The Humminbird LCR 100 system comprises a transducer (beneath the boat) and the LCR 100 unit (in-dash or gimbal-mounted), communicating via cable and powered by the boat's 12V DC battery.
Using sonar principles, the LCR 100 detects underwater objects. It sends signals to the transducer, which emits ultrasonic signals. Echoes returning from objects or the bottom are converted back to electronic signals for display. The screen shows depth, fish, and bottom details, updating continuously.

Controls allow setting depth range, display speed/sensitivity, alarms, and zoom view.
The Humminbird Advantage
The LCR 100 offers advanced features, including a high-contrast, super-twist LCD for clear viewing in sunlight and at night. Its viewing angle is wider than standard LCDs.
The unit is robust, waterproof (including saltwater-proof), and designed for reliable operation in demanding conditions.
Using the Built-in Simulator
A built-in simulator helps users learn LCR 100 functions by displaying a typical underwater scene and allowing control practice.
To activate: Turn unit OFF. Press and hold
until a chirp sounds. Release button.Diagram: Actual View - Simplified underwater scene.

To exit: Turn unit OFF. Sensitivity is disabled in simulator mode.
Operating the LCR-100
Front panel buttons adjust LCR 100 functions. Press buttons fully for a "chirp" sound.
: ON/OFF. Hold for 2 sec (off) to start simulator.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting
The LCR 100 requires minimal maintenance. Wipe with a damp cloth for spray contact. Clean LCD with a chamois and non-abrasive cleaner. Clean transducer face with liquid detergent if oily.
Allow transducer to re-wet after prolonged submersion. Avoid extreme temperatures.
Repairs must be done by authorized Humminbird technicians. Consult troubleshooting before contacting service.
Troubleshooting Guide:
- No power: Check power cable connection and fuse. Ensure correct battery terminal connection (+/-).
- No bottom reading: Check transducer cable connection. Ensure transducer is submerged.
- Gaps/Scale change in shallow water: Normal in depths <1 ft; auto range control may struggle.
- Unit powers on/off incorrectly: Check transducer cable for damage/shorts. Repair with electrical tape if needed.
- Gaps at high speeds: Transducer may be mounted too high, causing air/bubbles. Consult dealer.
- Black dots at high speed/sensitivity: Transducer too close to propeller; affected by air bubbles. Move transducer away.
- Bottom reading disappears on hard turn: Normal; transducer momentarily out of water.
- Screen fading/unclear: Check battery charge; unit needs >11 volts.
