Product Overview
The Ruud Professional Achiever® Ultra Low NOx gas water heaters are designed to meet stringent environmental standards, specifically complying with SCAQMD Rule 1121 and achieving 10 ng/J NOx emissions. These natural gas units offer a range of capacities and high performance.
Capacities: Available in 29, 39, 40, and 50-gallon capacities.
Performance: Up to 48,000 BTU/h input, with First Hour Rating (FHR) from 51 to 86 gallons and recovery rates from 30 to 40 GPH at a 90° F rise, depending on the model.

- Efficiency: .58 - .64 UEF; More hot water at a low operating cost.
- Guardian System™ & Sensor: Features an exclusive fuel shut-off device and a maintenance-free design with no filter to clean. It includes a protective control system that disables the heater in the presence of flammable vapor accumulation.
- Low Emissions: Equipped with an Ultra Low NOx radiant burner design and stainless steel construction, ensuring compliance with SCAQMD Rule 1121 and meeting 10 ng/J NOx requirements.
- Self-Cleaning: The EverKleen® system helps fight sediment build-up, reducing fuel costs and providing more hot water.
- Easy to Light: Designed for ignition without the need for matches.
- Longer Life: Features a premium grade anode rod for long-lasting tank protection.
- High Altitude Compliant: Select models are certified for use up to 10,000 ft. above sea level.
- Plus Features: Includes skinny models with smaller tank diameters (16" & 18"), an enhanced flow brass drain valve, and temperature and pressure relief valves (included or factory installed on select models). Units are also low lead compliant and feature exclusive Ruudglas® lining.
- Warranty: Comes with a 6-Year limited tank and parts warranty*. This can be extended to a 10-year limited tank warranty with the ProtectionPlus® option. Refer to the Residential Warranty Certificate for complete details.
Installed Top T&P Valve: Select models feature the Temperature and Pressure (T&P) relief valve installed at the top, positioned 1-1/2" above the top pan to the center of the opening.
Compliance and Certifications
Units meet or exceed ANSI requirements and have been tested according to the AHRI Operations Manual and D.O.E. procedures. They also meet or exceed the energy efficiency requirements of NAECA, ASHRAE standard 90, ICC Code, and all state energy efficiency performance criteria. The units are AHRI CERTIFIED.
