The drone's transmitter includes various controls and features:

1. Charging
Attach the USB charging cable to a USB Adapter (5V/2A, not included). Link it with the charging port of either the drone battery or the transmitter.
- Charging: Indicator light is flashing.
- Fully Charged: Indicator light is solid.
2. Get the Drone Ready
- Unfold the Drone Arms: Gently pull out the drone arms until they are fully extended. The front arms unfold outwards, and the rear arms unfold backwards.
- Insert the Drone Battery: Slide the drone battery into its compartment on the drone until it clicks into place.
- Attach Propeller Guards (Optional): If desired, attach the propeller guards (not included) for added protection.
3. Get the Transmitter Ready
- Unfold the Transmitter Handles: Pull out the foldable handles on the transmitter.
- Extend the Phone Holder: Pull up the phone holder from the top of the transmitter.
- Mount Your Phone: Place your smartphone securely into the phone holder.
4. Pairing
- Power On Drone: Press and hold the power button on the drone for 2 seconds until its indicator lights begin to flash.
- Power On Transmitter: Press the power button on the transmitter.
- Pairing Process: Push the left joystick up and then pull it down. The drone will automatically pair with the transmitter.
- Confirmation: The indicator lights on both the drone and the transmitter will turn solid, indicating successful pairing.
5. Connect to Wi-Fi
- Enable Wi-Fi: On your smartphone, go to your Wi-Fi settings.
- Connect to Drone Wi-Fi: Find and connect to the Wi-Fi network named "HolyStoneFPV-xxx".
- Launch App: Open the HS GPS V5 App on your smartphone.
6. Calibrate the Compass
- Initiate Calibration: Long press the Compass Calibration button on the transmitter (labeled as 'Compass Calibration: Long Press' on the diagram). The drone's lights will flash quickly.
- Horizontal Calibration: Hold the drone horizontally and rotate it 360 degrees until the lights flash slowly.
- Vertical Calibration: Hold the drone vertically with the camera facing down and rotate it 360 degrees until the lights turn solid.
Important: DO NOT calibrate the compass in locations with strong magnetic interference, such as near magnets, parking lots, or construction sites with underground reinforced concrete structures.
7. Calibrate the Gyro
Be sure to perform gyro calibration on a level surface. Push both joysticks on the transmitter to the bottom-right corner simultaneously. The drone's lights will flash quickly and then turn solid, indicating successful gyro calibration.
8. Unlock the Motors
Please make sure that you only unlock and control the drone when the indicator lights on the drone are solid green, which signifies a good GPS signal.
To unlock the motors, push both joysticks on the transmitter to the bottom-left corner simultaneously. The propellers will begin to spin.
9. Take-Off
Please fly the drone in an open outdoor area free of surrounding obstructions.
After unlocking the motors, press the Takeoff/Landing button (labeled 5 on the transmitter diagram). The drone will automatically ascend and hover at a safe height.
10. Flight Direction Control
The left joystick is responsible for controlling the drone's height and orientation in flight:
- Left Joystick Up/Down: Controls the drone's altitude (ascend/descend).
- Left Joystick Left/Right: Controls the drone's rotation (yaw left/right).
The right joystick dictates the movements in forward, backward, and lateral directions:
- Right Joystick Up/Down: Controls forward/backward movement.
- Right Joystick Left/Right: Controls left/right lateral movement.
11. Landing
To land the drone, press the Takeoff/Landing button (labeled 5 on the transmitter diagram). The drone will automatically descend and land safely.
