The prewired design decreases the amount of labor needed for installation. When installing the CEP, you will need to drill a ½ inch hole for RSD lead and a ¾ inch hole for Charger Controller PV leads going into the RV. The drilled holes will need to be spaced ½ inch from each other (shown below). Next you will need to fill in the glue line with appropriate waterproof silicone or sealant for your roofing material. See below for red glue lines. You can mount behind the switch (usually the screws will not show on the mounting surface) or through the front of the switch. Depending on the thickness of the mounting surface, Option 1 gives you more flexibility for a flush installation. Option 1 The RSD will be mounted from behind the wall and behind the switch, with the face and button protruding through the cutout.
