Operating Temperature
Mode | Temperature | Cooling Operation | Heating Operation | Drying Operation |
---|---|---|---|---|
Room temperature | 17°C~32°C (62°F~90°F) | 0°C~30°C (32°F~86°F) | 10°C~32°C (50°F~90°F) | |
Outdoor temperature | 0°C~50°C (32°F~122°F) | -15°C~30°C (5°F~86°F) | 0°C~50°C (32°F~122°F) | |
(For models with low temperature cooling system) | (-15°C~50°C/5°F~122°F) |
Note: Optimum performance is within these temperatures. Using outside these conditions may activate safety features. High humidity (over 80%) in cooling mode may cause dripping; adjust vertical louver to maximum angle and set HIGH fan mode. For units with electric heaters, keeping them plugged in below 0°C (32°F) is recommended.
Manual Operation
Units are equipped with a switch for emergency operation mode, accessible by opening the front panel. This is used when the remote controller fails or for maintenance. Diagram Description: Shows the location of the manual switch and suspension bars for propping open the panel.
Note: Unit must be turned off before operating the manual control button. Pressing the button once leads to forced AUTO operation. Pressing twice within five seconds leads to forced COOL operation. Close the panel firmly.
CAUTION: This switch is for testing purposes only. To restore remote controller operation, use the remote controller directly.
Airflow Direction Control
Adjust airflow direction properly to avoid discomfort or uneven room temperatures. Adjust horizontal/vertical louvers using the remote controller. For some models, vertical louvers can only be adjusted manually using a deflector rod. Diagram Description: Shows airflow direction adjustment with louvers and a deflector rod.
IMPORTANT: Do not put fingers into the blower and suction side due to high-speed fan.
CAUTION: Do not operate for long periods with airflow directed downward in cooling or dehumidifying mode, as condensation may occur. Horizontal louvers may not move for approximately 10 seconds after startup. Do not set the horizontal louver angle too small, as it may impair cooling/heating performance. Do not move horizontal louvers manually to avoid desynchronization; restart the unit if this occurs. Do not operate with the horizontal louver closed.
How the Air Conditioner Works
Explains different operating modes:
- AUTO operation: Automatically selects cooling, heating, or fan only based on set temperature and room temperature.
- SLEEP operation: Automatically adjusts temperature by 1°C/2°F per hour for the first 2 hours, then holds for 5 hours before switching off, saving energy and increasing comfort.
- DRYING operation: Fan speed is automatically controlled. Compressor stops if room temperature is below 10°C (50°F) and restarts when it reaches 12°C (54°F).
Optimal Operation:
- Adjust airflow direction away from people.
- Set temperature for highest comfort, avoid excessive levels.
- Close doors and windows during COOL or HEAT modes for better performance.
- Use TIMER ON button to select start time.
- Do not place objects near air inlet/outlet, as it reduces efficiency.
- Clean air filter periodically to maintain cooling/heating performance.
- Do not operate with the horizontal louvre in a closed position.
Care and Maintenance
Before Maintenance
Turn the system off before cleaning. Wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use bleach or abrasives. NOTE: Disconnect power supply before cleaning the indoor unit.
Cautions for Cleaning:
- A cloth dampened with cold water may be used on very dirty units, then wipe with a dry cloth.
- Do not use chemically treated cloths or dusters.
- Do not use benzine, thinner, polishing powder, or similar solvents, as they may cause plastic surfaces to crack or deform.
- Never use water hotter than 40°C (104°F) to clean the front panel, as it could cause deformation or discoloration.
Cleaning the Unit
Wipe the unit with a soft dry cloth. If very dirty, use a cloth soaked in warm water.
Cleaning the Air Filter and Air Freshening Filter
A clogged air filter reduces cooling efficiency. Clean the filter once every 2 weeks.
Steps:
- Lift the indoor unit panel until it clicks. Use suspension bars if necessary.
- Hold the air filter handle, lift slightly, and pull downwards to remove.
- Remove the AIR FILTER. Clean it with a vacuum cleaner or water, then dry in a cool place.

Air Freshening Filter and Plasma Filter
Diagram Description: Shows the air freshening filter and plasma filter components. Instructions for removing and cleaning the air freshening filter (at least once a month, replace every 4-5 months). Caution: Do not touch the plasma within 10 minutes after opening the panel.
Steps for installing filters:
- Install the air freshening filter back into position.
- Insert the upper portion of the air filter correctly and place it into position.
Replacement of Air Filter and Air Freshening Filter
- Remove the air filter.
- Remove the air freshening filter.
- Install a new air freshening filter.
- Reinstall the air filter and securely close the front panel.
Preparation for Extended Non-Operation
If the unit will be idle for a long time:
- Clean the indoor unit and filters.
- Operate the fan for about half a day to dry the inside.
- Stop the air conditioner and disconnect power.
- Remove batteries from the remote controller.
The outdoor unit requires periodic maintenance and cleaning. Do not attempt this yourself; contact your dealer or service provider.
Pre-season Inspection
- Check that wiring is not broken or disconnected.
- Clean the indoor unit and filters.
- Check that the air filter is installed.
- Check if air outlet or inlet is blocked after a long period of non-use.
Caution: Do not touch metal parts when removing filters (risk of injury from sharp edges). Do not use water inside the air conditioner (risk of electric shock). Ensure power and circuit breaker are off before cleaning. Do not wash air filter with hot water above 40°C (104°F); shake off moisture completely, dry in shade, and do not expose to direct sun.
Troubleshooting Tips
Normal Function of the Air Conditioner
The following events may occur during normal operation:
- Protection of the air conditioner: Compressor protection (3-4 minute restart delay), Anti-cold air (no cold air blown in HEAT mode during initial heating, defrosting, or low-temperature heating), indoor/outdoor fan stop during defrosting.
- Defrosting (Cooling and heating models only): Frost may form on the outdoor unit in low temperatures/high humidity, causing heating efficiency to drop. The unit stops heating and defrosts automatically for 4-10 minutes.
- White mist from indoor unit: Can occur due to large temperature difference between air inlet/outlet in COOL mode with high humidity, or from defrosting process after restarting in HEAT mode.
- Low noise: Hissing sound from refrigerant flow, "squeak" sound from plastic expansion/contraction, or noise from louver restoring to original position.
- Dust blown out: Normal if the unit has not been used for a long time or during first use.
- Peculiar smell: Caused by smells from building materials, furniture, or smoke permeating the indoor unit.
- Turns to FAN only mode: Occurs when the set temperature is reached in COOL or HEAT mode; compressor stops, and unit runs in FAN only. Compressor restarts when temperature deviates.
