Precautions
This unit is an XLR microphone adaptor for Panasonic digital cameras. Attaching a commercially available XLR microphone and combining it with a compatible digital camera enables recording of high-quality stereo audio. This unit supports high-resolution audio output. Attaching it to a compatible digital camera enables recording of highresolution audio.

 Handling the unit
· Do not subject the unit to strong vibration or impact. Those actions may result in malfunctions and failure.
· Sand and dirt may cause the unit to malfunction. When using the unit in an environment such as a beach, take steps to protect it from sand and dirt.
· When using the unit on rainy days or on a beach, take care to keep the unit dry.
· This unit is neither dust-proof nor splash-proof. If by any chance water droplets, etc. are splashed on the unit, wipe them off with a dry cloth. If the unit fails to function correctly, consult your dealer or Panasonic.
· Please also read the manual of your digital camera.

Attaching to the Camera

Confirm that the camera is off. Attaching or removing the XLR microphone adaptor while the camera is on may result in malfunction.

1 Slide the lock lever in

the direction opposite to



that indicated by the

[LOCK 1] icon (1).

2 Slide the XLR
microphone adaptor into the hot shoe until it clicks securely into place  (2).

3 Slide the lock lever to the

[LOCK 1] position (3).



· To remove the XLR microphone adaptor, slide the lock lever in the direction opposite to the [LOCK 1] arrow and slide it from the hot shoe.

Connecting a microphone
Insert the microphone cable plug into the XLR terminal of the unit.
· To prevent unnecessary force being applied to the digital camera hot shoe, insert the plug while holding the unit with your hand.
· If there is only one cable to be connected, connect it to terminal [INPUT1].
· Use a shielded XLR microphone cable with a XLR (3 pin) terminal.
· The microphone cable can be attached to the unit's cable holder.
· The orientation of the cable holder can be changed. Remove the cable holder and attach it in a different orientation.
· Keep the cable holder out of reach of children to prevent swallowing.

· A commercially available XLR microphone or microphone holder can be attached to the unit's accessory shoe.

 Remove the microphone cable
Press the release lever (1), and hold the plug to remove it (2).

 

Using the XLR microphone adaptor
This unit can be used by turning the power of the digital camera [ON] while this unit is mounted on the digital camera. · The POWER lamp of the unit will turn on. · The operational sound of the switch operation may be
recorded or the sound may get interrupted, such as when the switch is operated during the recording of a motion picture.
 Setting the recording level
Set the recording level of audio that is input to the XLR terminals (INPUT1, INPUT2).
· The recording level of the built-in microphone of the digital camera and the [MIC] terminal cannot be set.

1 Slide the ALC switch to
[OFF].
2 Rotate the
AUDIO LEVELdial (INPUT1, INPUT2) to set the recording level (volume).
Setting the level while checking with headphones connected to the digital camera or the digital camera microphone level display is recommended.
Adjust the recording level automatically. Slide the ALC switch to [ON]. At high volumes, the recording level is decreased automatically to reduce distortion with the sound.
 Decrease noise caused by wind or handling
Noise caused by wind or handling is reduced by cutting out low-frequency components that are input to the XLR terminals (INPUT1, INPUT2).
Set the LOW CUT switch (INPUT1, INPUT2) to [16Hz] or [160Hz].
· Select based on the type of noise.

 Using external audio
devices
1 Set the LINE/MIC/i48V
switch (INPUT1, INPUT2) to match the connected device.
Set the switch to the match the device connected to the
XLR terminals (INPUT1, INPUT2).

[LINE] External audio devices (such as mixers).

[MIC]

Dynamic microphone or microphone with built-in battery.

[i48V]

Microphone that supports i48V power supply (phantom power supply).

· When set to [i48V], connecting a device that does not support i48V power supply may cause damage to the connected device. Check the device before connecting.
· If noise from the unconnected terminal is bothering, set the LINE/MIC/i48V switch to [LINE].

set) Set the input level with the GAIN switch (INPUT1, INPUT2).
When the LINE/MIC/i48V switch is set to [MIC] or [i48V], the input gain can be changed with the GAIN
switch.

3 Set the recording

· If using a stereo microphone with two XLR (3 pin) plugs, connect the Lch to XLR terminal (INPUT1), and the Rch to XLR terminal (INPUT2), and set the CH1/2 switch to [INPUT 1/2].

Cautions for Use
 About the unit
Do not use this unit near radio transmitters or highvoltage lines. · Noise may be present in images and sound recorded near
radio transmitters or high-voltage lines. Perform recording in locations away from them. The level of noise varies depending on the XLR microphone used.
Keep the unit away from insecticide sprays and other volatile substances. · Exposure to such substances may cause damage to the
external case and the text and symbols printed on the unit. · Do not leave the unit in contact with any items made of
rubber or PVC for prolonged periods of time.
Do not carry the unit with your hands while it is still attached to a digital camera.
· Under no circumstances should the unit be used or stored in any of the following locations since doing so may cause trouble in operation or malfunctioning:  In direct sunlight or on a beach in summer  In locations with high temperatures and humidity levels or where changes in temperature and humidity are acute  In locations with high concentrations of sand, dust or dirt  Where there is fire  Near heaters, air conditioners or humidifiers  Where water may make the unit wet  Where there is vibration  Inside a vehicle

· Do not drop the unit, knock it into other objects or subject it to any other kind of strong impact or shock.
· When recording a motion picture, the digital camera or lens sounds or other operating noise may be recorded. If the sound from the lens is particularly bothering, set the camera to manual focus during use. If the operating noise is particularly bothering, position the microphone away from the digital camera during use.
· If the terminals are dirty they can cause faulty connections. Wipe clean with a soft dry cloth before connecting.
· Do not attach or remove cables with the power of the digital camera turned [ON].
· Before use, check that the XLR microphone adaptor is recording normally.
· Do not disassemble or modify this unit.
 Cleaning
When cleaning, wipe the unit with a dry soft cloth. · When the unit is soiled badly, it can be cleaned by wiping
the dirt off with a wrung wet cloth, and then with a dry cloth. · Do not use solvents such as benzine, thinner, alcohol, kitchen detergents, etc., to clean the unit, as these may damage the external case and the text and symbols printed on the unit. · When using a chemical cloth, be sure to follow the accompanying instructions.

Installation sur l'appareil photo Raccordement d'un microphone

Vérifiez que l'appareil photo est hors marche. Installer ou retirer l'adaptateur de microphone XLR tandis que l'appareil photo est en marche peut causer des dysfonctionnements.

1 Faites glisser le levier de

verrouillage dans le



sens opposé à celui

indiqué par l'icône

[LOCK 1] (1).

2 Faites glisser l'adaptateur

de microphone XLR dans la

griffe porte-accessoires

3 Faites glisser le levier de

verrouillage à la position [LOCK 1] (3).



· Pour retirer l'adaptateur de microphone XLR, faites glisser le levier de verrouillage dans le sens opposé à la flèche [LOCK 1] et faites-le glisser de la griffe porte-accessoires.

Branchez la fiche du câble du microphone dans la prise XLR de l'appareil.
· Pour éviter de forcer inutilement sur la griffe porteaccessoires de l'appareil photo numérique, branchez la fiche en tenant l'appareil avec votre main.
· S'il n'y a qu'un seul câble à brancher, branchez-le à la prise [INPUT1].
· Utilisez un câble de microphone XLR blindé avec une prise XLR (3 broches).
· Le câble du microphone peut être fixé au support de câble de l'appareil.
· L'orientation du support de câble peut être changée. Retirez le support de câble et installez-le dans un autre sens.
· Conservez le support de câble hors de portée des enfants pour qu'ils ne puissent pas l'avaler.

Utilisation de l'adaptateur de microphone XLR
Cet appareil peut être utilisé en mettant l'appareil photo numérique sur [ON] tandis qu'il est installé sur ce dernier. · Le voyant POWER de l'appareil s'allumera. · Le son de fonctionnement de la mise en marche peut être
enregistré ou bien le son peut être coupé, comme lorsque le commutateur est utilisé pendant l'enregistrement d'un film.
 Réglage du niveau d'enregistrement
Réglez le niveau d'enregistrement du son qui entre par les prises XLR (INPUT1, INPUT2).
· Le niveau d'enregistrement du microphone incorporé de l'appareil photo numérique et de la prise [MIC] ne peut pas être réglé.

1 Faites glisser le
commutateur ALC sur [OFF].
2 Tournez la molette
AUDIO LEVEL (INPUT1, INPUT2) pour régler le niveau d'enregistrement (volume).
Le réglage du niveau tout en contrôlant à l'aide d'un casque branché à l'appareil photo numérique ou à l'aide de l'affichage du niveau du microphone de l'appareil photo numérique est recommandé.
Réglage automatique du niveau d'enregistrement Faites glisser le commutateur ALC sur [ON]. À hauts volumes, le niveau d'e nregistrement est baissé automatiquement pour réduire la déformation du son.
 Réduction du bruit causé par le vent ou la
manipulation Le bruit créé par le vent ou la manipulation est réduit en retirant les composantes basses fréquences qui entrent par les prises XLR (INPUT1, INPUT2).

Inserte el enchufe del cable del micrófono en la terminal XLR de la unidad.
· Para evitar aplicar demasiada fuerza a la zapata caliente de la cámara digital, sostenga la unidad con su mano cuando inserte el enchufe.
· Si solo hay un cable para conectar, conéctelo a la terminal [INPUT1].
· Use un cable de micrófono XLR protegido con una terminal XLR (3 pin).
· El cable del micrófono se puede colocar en el soporte del cable de la unidad.
· Es posible cambiar la orientación del soporte del cable. Quite el soporte del cable y colóquelo en la orientación que desee.

2 Gire el disco de
AUDIO LEVEL(INPUT1, INPUT2) para ajustar el nivel de volumen de la grabación.
Se recomienda ajustar el nivel y comprobarlo con auriculares conectados a la cámara digital o comprobar la pantalla del nivel del micrófono de la cámara digital.
Ajuste automático del nivel de grabación. Coloque el interruptor de ALC en encendido [ON]. Si el volumen es muy alto, el nivel de grabación se baja automáticamente para disminuir la distorsión del sonido.

Anbringen an der Kamera

Vergewissern Sie sich, dass die Kamera ausgeschaltet ist. Ein Anbringen oder Entfernen des XLR-Mikrofon-Adapters bei eingeschalteter Kamera kann zu Funktionsstörungen führen.

· Schieben Sie den Sperrhebel entgegen der Pfeilrichtung [LOCK 1], um den XLR-Mikrofon-Adapter aus dem Zubehörschuh zu entfernen.

Anschließen eines Mikrofons
Verbinden Sie das Mikrofonkabel mit der XLR Klemme des Geräts.
· Halten Sie das Gerät dabei in der Hand, um zu vermeiden, dass übermäßige Kraft auf den Zubehörschuh der Digital-Kamera ausgeübt wird.
· Wenn nur ein Kabel angeschlossen wird, verbinden Sie es mit der [INPUT1]-Klemme.
· Verwenden Sie ein geschirmtes XLR-Mikrofonkabel mit XLR-Stecker (3-polig).
· Das Mikrofonkabel kann am Kabelhalter des Geräts befestigt werden.
· Die Orientierung des Kabelhalters kann geändert werden. Entfernen Sie den Kabelhalter und bringen Sie ihn in anderer Orientierung an.
· Halten Sie den Kabelhalter außerhalb der Reichweite von Kindern, um ein Verschlucken zu vermeiden.

· Über den Zubehörschuh des Geräts kann ein handelsübliches XLR-Mikrofon oder ein Mikrofonhalter angeschlossen werden.

 Entfernen des Mikrofonkabels
Betätigen Sie den Freigabehebel (1) und halten Sie den Stecker fest, um ihn zu entfernen (2).

 

Verwenden des XLR-MikrofonAdapters

Dieses Gerät kann beim Einschalten der Digital-Kamera [ON] verwendet werden, wenn es an der Kamera montiert ist. · Die POWER-Leuchte des Geräts leuchtet. · Möglicherweise werden Bediengeräusche aufgezeichnet,
oder es kommt zu Audio-Unterbrechungen, wenn der Schalter beispielsweise beim Aufnehmen eines Videos bedient wird.
 Einstellen des Aufnahmepegels
Stellen Sie den Audio-Aufnahmepegel ein, der in die XLRKlemmen (INPUT1, INPUT2) eingeht.
· Der Aufnahmepegel des integrierten Mikrofons der Digital-Kamera und der [MIC]-Klemme können nicht eingestellt werden.

1 Stellen Sie den ALC-
Schalter auf [OFF] ein.
2 Drehen Sie das
AUDIO LEVEL-Einstellrad (INPUT1, INPUT2), um den Aufnahmepegel (Lautstärke) einzustellen.
Es wird empfohlen, den Pegel beim Einstellen anhand der Mikrofonpegel-Anzeige der Kamera oder über Kopfhörer zu überprüfen, die an die Digital-Kamera angeschlossen sind.
Passen Sie den Aufnahmepegel automatisch an. Stellen Sie den ALC-Schalter auf [ON] ein. Bei hohen Lautstärkepegeln wird der Aufnahmepegel automatisch verringert, um Klangverzerrungen zu verringern.
 Verringern von Störgeräuschen durch Wind
oder Handhabung Störgeräusche durch Wind oder Handhabung können verringert werden, indem in die XLR-Klemmen (INPUT1, INPUT2) eingehende niederfrequente Klangkomponenten herausgefiltert werden.
Stellen Sie den LOW CUTSchalter (INPUT1, INPUT2) auf [16Hz] oder [160Hz] ein.
· Treffen Sie Ihre Auswahl je nach Art des Störgeräuschs.

· Wenn die Digital-Kamera eingeschaltet ist, schließen Sie keine Kabel an und entfernen auch keine Kabel.
· Vergewissern Sie sich vor Verwendung, dass der XLRMikrofon-Adapter normal aufnimmt.
· Zerlegen oder verändern Sie dieses Gerät nicht.
 Reinigung

Installazione sulla fotocamera

Controllare che la fotocamera digitale sia spenta. Il collegamento o la rimozione dell'adattatore microfono XLR con la fotocamera accesa potrebbero causare malfunzionamenti.

alimentata finché non

· Per rimuovere l'adattatore microfono XLR, far scorrere la leva di bloccaggio nella direzione opposta a quella indicata dalla freccia [LOCK 1] ed estrarlo dalla slitta alimentata.

Collegamento di un microfono
Inserimento del connettore del cavo del microfono nel terminale XLR dell'unità.
· Onde evitare di esercitare una forza eccessiva sulla slitta alimentata della fotocamera digitale, tenere l'unità con una mano e inserire il connettore con l'altra.
· Se è presente un solo cavo da collegare, collegarlo al terminale [INPUT1].
· Usare un cavo per microfono XLR schermato con un terminale XLR (3 pin).
· Il cavo del microfono può essere collegato al supporto cavo dell'unità.
· L'orientamento del supporto cavo non può essere modificato. Rimuovere il supporto cavo e riposizionarlo con un orientamento diverso.
· Tenere il supporto cavo al di fuori della portata dei bambini per evitare rischi di ingerimento.

· È possibile collegare un microfono XLR o un supporto cavo disponibili in commercio alla slitta per accessori dell'unità.

 Rimozione del cavo del microfono

Premere la leva di sgancio (1) e afferrare il
connettore per estrarlo (2).

 

Utilizzo dell'adattatore microfono XLR

Per utilizzare questa unità accendere la fotocamera digitale mentre l'unità è installata su di essa. · La spia POWER dell'unità si accende. · È possibile che il suono di azionamento dell'interruttore
venga registrato oppure che il suono sia interrotto, ad esempio se si aziona l'interruttore durante la registrazione di un video.
 Impostazione del livello di registrazione
Impostare il livello di registrazione dell'audio in ingresso nei terminali XLR (INPUT1, INPUT2).
· Non è possibile procedere all'impostazione del livello di registrazione del microfono incorporato della fotocamera digitale e del terminale [MIC].

1 Far scorrere
l'interruttore ALC su [OFF].
2 Ruotare il selettore
AUDIO LEVEL(INPUT1, INPUT2) per impostare il livello di registrazione (volume).
Si consiglia di impostare il livello eseguendo un controllo con le cuffie collegate alla fotocamera digitale oppure mediante la visualizzazione del livello del microfono della fotocamera digitale.
Regolazione automatica del livello di registrazione. Far scorrere l'interruttore ALC su [ON]. Con un volume elevato, il livello di registrazione viene abbassato automaticamente per ridurre la distorsione del suono.
 Riduzione del rumore causato dal vento o
dall'utilizzo Il rumore causato dal vento o dall'utilizzo viene ridotto eliminando i componenti a bassa frequenza in ingresso nei terminali XLR (INPUT1, INPUT2).
Impostare l'interruttore LOW CUT (INPUT1, INPUT2) su [16Hz] o [160Hz].
· La selezione si basa sul tipo di rumore.

 Utilizzo di dispositivi
audio esterni
1 Impostare l'interruttore
LINE/MIC/i48V (INPUT1, INPUT2) in modo che corrisponda al dispositivo collegato.

Microfono dinamico o microfono dotato di batteria incorporata.

[i48V]

Microfono che supporta un'alimentazione a i48 V (alimentazione Phantom).

· Quando l'impostazione è [i48V], il collegamento di un dispositivo che non supporta l'alimentazione a i48 V potrebbe causare danni al dispositivo. Controllare il dispositivo prima di collegarlo.
· Se il rumore proveniente dal terminale non collegato
rappresenta un problema, impostare l'interruttore LINE/ MIC/i48V su [LINE].

2 (Con impostazione [MIC],
[i48V]) Impostare il livello in ingresso con l'interruttore GAIN (INPUT1, INPUT2).

nelle vicinanze di trasmettitori radio o linee ad alta tensione. Eseguire le registrazioni in luoghi al riparo da simili condizioni. Il livello di rumore varia a seconda del microfono XLR utilizzato.
Tenere l'unità al riparo da spruzzi di insetticidi e di altre sostanze volatili. · L'esposizione a queste sostanze potrebbe causare danni alla
superficie esterna e al testo e i simboli stampati sull'unità. · Non lasciare l'unità a contatto prolungato con oggetti in
gomma o PVC.
Non trasportare l'unità tenendola in mano mentre è ancora installata su una fotocamera digitale.

· Se i terminali sono sporchi possono verificarsi problemi di collegamento. Pulirli con un panno morbido e asciutto prima di eseguire il collegamento.
· Non collegare o rimuovere i cavi quando la fotocamera digitale è accesa.
· Prima dell'uso, controllare che l'adattatore microfono XLR funzioni regolarmente.
· Non smontare o modificare questa unità.
 Pulizia
Per pulire l'unità, strofinarla con un panno asciutto e morbido. · Quando l'unità è estremamente sporca, è possibile pulirla
rimuovendo la sporcizia con un panno umido strizzato, e quindi passando un panno asciutto. · Non utilizzare solventi come benzina, diluenti, alcol, detergenti da cucina, ecc. per pulire l'unità, onde evitare di danneggiare la superficie esterna o il testo e i simboli stampati sull'unità. · Quando si utilizza un panno chimico, seguire attentamente le relative istruzioni.
