We trust that you will have a pleasant experience with your new product. To guarantee safety and best efficiency, please read this manual carefully and keep a copy for future reference. IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS When using electric appliances, basic safety precautions should always be adhered to, including the following: · Read all instructions carefully and retain them for future reference. · Before connecting to the power supply, ensure that the unit is earthed and its voltage corresponds to the voltage indicated on the power supply rating label. · Inspect the power cord for any signs of damage, and have it replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard. · This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. · Keep the appliance away from children. · It is hazardous for anyone other than authorized service personnel to carry out servicing or repairs which involves the removal of covers. To avoid the risk of an electric shock do not attempt to repair this appliance yourself. WARNING! RISK OF FIRE / FLAMMABLE MATERIALS · Do not use electrical appliances such as a hair dryer or heater to defrost this appliance. · Containers with flammable gases or liquids can leak at low temperatures. · Do not store any containers with flammable materials, such as spray cans, fire extinguisher refill cartridges etc. into the appliance. · Do not place carbonated or fizzy drinks into the freezer compartment. Ice lollipops can cause Frost/Freeze burns if consumed directly from the Fridge/Freezer. · Do not remove items from the fridge/freezer compartment with damp/wet hands, as this could cause skin abrasions or frost/freezer burns. · Do not place bottles and cans into the freezer compartment as they can explode when the contents freeze. · Always adhere to the manufacturer's recommended storage times. Refer to relevant instructions. · Do not allow children to tamper with the controls or play with the appliance, as it is heavy. Exercise caution when moving it. It is risky to modify the specification or product in any way. · Do not store inflammable gases or liquids inside the appliance. · This refrigerating appliance is not intended to be used as a built-in appliance, nor is it suitable for freezing foodstuffs · This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments; farm houses and by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments; bed and breakfast type environments; catering and similar non-retail applications. 2 · Keep ventilation openings in the appliance enclosure or in the built-in structure free of obstructions. · Do not use mechanical devices or other means to accelerate the defrosting process, other than those recommended by the manufacturer. · Do not damage the refrigerant circuit. · Do not use electrical appliances inside the appliance's food storage compartments, unless those recommended by the manufacturer. · Do not store explosive substances such as aerosol cans with a flammable propellant in this appliance. WARNING! · Keep the keys for appliance with doors or lids fitted with locks out of the reach of children and near the appliance to prevent children from being locked inside. · Your appliance uses refrigerant and insulation materials that requires special disposal procedures. · When positioning the appliance, ensure the supply cord is not trapped or damaged. · Do not locate multiple portable socket-outlets or portable power supplies at the rear of the appliance · To avoid food contamination, please adhere to the following instructions: · Do not leave the appliance door open for long periods as this can cause a significant temperature increase in the appliance's compartments. · Clean surfaces that can come in contact with food and accessible drainage systems regularly. · Clean water tanks if they have not been used for 48 hours. Flush the water system connected to a water supply if water has not been drawn for 5 days. · Store raw meat and fish in suitable containers in the refrigerator to avoid contact with or drip onto other foods. · Two-star frozen-food compartments are ideal for storing pre-frozen food, storing or making ice-cream and making ice cubes. · One-, two- and three-star compartments are not suitable for freezing fresh foods. · If the refrigerating appliance is to be left empty for long periods - switch off, defrost, clean, dry, and leave the door open to prevent mold from developing within the appliance. WARNING! ELECTRICAL CONNECTION · This appliance should be properly grounded for your safety. The power cord of this appliance is equipped with a three-prong power plug which mates with the standard threeprong power supply outlets to minimize the possibility of electrical shock. · Do not, under any circumstances, cut or remove the third ground prong from the power cord supplied. · This appliance requires a standard 220-240VAC 50Hz power supply outlet with three- prong ground. · This appliance is not designed to be used with an inverter. 3 WARNING · Secure the power cord behind the appliance and do not leave it exposed or dangling to prevent accidental injury. · Never unplug the refrigerator by pulling on the power cord. Always grip the plug firmly and pull straight out from the receptacle. · Do not use an extension cord with this appliance. If the power cord is too short, have a qualified electrician or service technician install a power supply outlet near the appliance. Using a power extension cord can negatively affect the performance of the unit. · Improper use of the grounded plug can result in the risk of electrical shock. CLIMATE RANGE The information about the climate range of the appliance is provided on the rating plate. It indicates at which ambient temperature (that is, room temperature, in which the appliance is working) the operation of the appliance is optimal (proper). Climate Range SN N ST T Permissible ambient temperature From +10ºC to +32ºC From +16ºC to +32ºC From +16ºC to +38ºC From +16ºC to +43ºC NOTE: Given the limit values of the ambient temperature range for the climate classes for which the refrigerating appliance is designed and the fact that the internal temperatures could be affected by such factors as location of the refrigerating appliance, ambient temperature and the frequency of door opening, the setting of any temperature control device might have to be varied to allow for these factors, if appropriate. IMPORTANT NOTE The appliance may not be able to maintain the desirable compartment temperatures if it is operating in an environment other than the specified climate type (i.e., beyond the rated ambient temperature range). LOCKS If your appliance is fitted with a lock, keep the key out of reach and not near the appliance to prevent children being entrapped. When disposing of an old Refrigerator, break off any old locks or latches as a safeguard. FREON-FREE This appliance uses an environmentally-friendly freon-free refrigerant (R600a) and foaming insulation material (cyclopentane), posing no damage to the ozone layer and with insignificant global warming impact. R600a is flammable, and sealed in a refrigeration system, without leakage during normal use. However, if the refrigerant leaks due to a refrigerant circuit damage, be sure to keep the appliance away from open flames and open the windows for ventilation immediately. 4 PARTS IDENTIFICATION 1. Refrigerator door balconies 6 7 8 9 10 INSTALLATION LOCATION · Ensure that the appliance is located on flat and stable floor · Do not locate the appliance near heat sources, e.g., cooker, direct sunlight in out-buildings or sun lounges. · If placing the appliance in an out-building such as a garage or annex, ensure that it is placed above the damp course, as condensation may occur on the fridge/freezer cabinet. · The appliance emits heat to surrounding during operation. Therefore, ensure at least 30mm of free space at the top, more than 100mm on both sides, and above 50mm at the rear. LEVELING THE FRIDGE · If the Fridge is not level, the door and magnetic seal alignment will be affected and may cause you Fridge to work incorrectly. Once the Fridge is placed in its final location, adjust the leveling feet at the front by turning them. CLEANING BEFORE USE · Wipe the inside of the Fridge with a weak bicarbonate of soda. Rinse with warm water using a damp sponge or cloth. Wash the baskets and shelves in warm soapy water and dry completely before placing into the appliance. Clean external parts of the appliance with wax polish. BEFORE PLUGGING IN YOU MUST · Ensure that your power supply socket which is compatible with the power plug supplied with the appliance. 5 INSTALLATION BEFORE SWITCHING ON DO NOT SWITCH ON UNTIL FOUR (4) HOURS AFTER MOVING THE APPLIANCE. · The coolant fluid needs time to settle. If the appliance is switched off at any time, wait 30 minutes before switching back on to allow the coolant fluid to settle. BEFORE FILLING YOUR FRIDGE · Power on the appliance and wait for 24 hours before storing foods into the appliance to ensure it is working properly and to allow it to achieve the correct temperature. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS TESTING · Clean the parts of the appliance with lukewarm water and a little neutral detergent, then wipe dry. Notes: Use only a dry cloth to wipe dry Electrical parts of the appliance. 1. Remark: turn the thermostat knob to the "4" position and power on. The compressor will begin operating. 2. Open the door 30 minutes later, if the temperature in the refrigerator has fallen, it shows that the refrigerator system is working well. When the refrigerator operates for a period of time, the temperature controller will automatically set the temperature within the preset limits. TEMPERATURE CONTROL · The temperature controller regulates the temperature inside the refrigerator compartment, and is installed on the back wall of the MAX OFF MIN refrigerator compartment. · Turn the thermostat knob to right or left to regulate the temperature inside the refrigerator. · The marks on the knob are the temperature grades, not the exact number of the degrees of temperature. "OFF" shows a forced "STOP" and "7" shows the lowest temperature. Turn the knob from positions "1" MED Temperature Control Dial to "7" and the temperature will decrease continuously. You may set the temperature control selector to any desired position. · Select position "4" for normal use. FOOD STORAGE · Using the Refrigerator Compartment Cooked dishes can be placed into refrigerator to keep fresh after their temperature decreases to room temperature. Place eggs into the egg pockets and butter, milk and bottle drinks etc. into bottle pockets for eggs. FOOD PLACEMENT · Place foods to the left instead of crowding all over the compartment. 6 · Wrap foods with clean plastic film or fresh keeping paper, then distributed to several frames even to prevent contamination, water loss, and odor mixture. · Cool hot food down to the room temperature before storing as power consumption, leading to frost forming inside. DURING OPERATION · The appliance might not operate consistently (possibility of defrosting of contents or rising temperature in the frozen food compartment) when operating for an extended time period below the cold end of the temperature range for which the appliance is designed to operate. · Internal temperatures could be affected by factors such as appliance location, ambient temperature and door opening frequency, and, if appropriate, a warning that the setting of any temperature control device might have to be varied to allow for these factors. · Do not store effervescent drinks in the food freezer compartments, cabinets or in low- temperature compartments. Do not consume iced water as they are too cold. · Do not exceed the storage time(s) recommended by the food manufacturers for any kind of food. · A rise in temperature of the frozen food during manual defrosting, maintenance or cleaning could shorten its storage life. · It is recommended to wrap frozen food in several layers when placing on the glass shelves. · Exercise care with frozen food in storage in the event of an extended non-running of the refrigerating appliance (interruption of power supply or failure of the refrigerating system). RECOMMENDED FOOD KEEPING TIPS TAKE EXTRA CARE WITH MEAT AND FISH · Cooked meats should always be stored on a shelf above raw meats to avoid bacterial transfer. Keep raw meats on a plate which is large enough to collect juices and cover it with cling film or foil. LEAVE SPACE AROUND FOOD · This allows cold air to circulate around the Fridge, ensuring all parts of the Fridge are kept cool. WRAP UP FOOD! · To prevent transfer of flavors and drying out, food should be separately packed or covered. Fruit and vegetables need not be wrapped. PRE-COOKED FOOD SHOULD BE COOLED PROPERLY · Allow pre-cooked food to cool down before placing in the Fridge. This will help to stop the internal temperature of the Fridge from rising. SHUT THE DOOR! · To prevent cold air escaping, try to limit the number of times you open the door. When returning from shopping, sort foods to be kept in your Fridge before opening the door. Only open the door to put food in or take it out. 7 WHERE TO STORE YOUR FOODS IN THE FRIDGE COOL AREA · Milk, eggs, yogurt, fruit juices, hard cheeses e.g., cheddar will last longer if kept cool. This also applies to opened salad dressings jars and bottles, sauces and jams, fats such as butter, margarine, low-fat spreads, cooking fats and lard. COLDEST AREA This is where foods which must be cold to keep them safe Coldest Cool Cool should be kept: · Raw and uncooked foods should always be wrapped. · Pre-cooked chilled foods, e.g., ready meals, meat pies, soft cheeses. · Pre-cooked meats e.g., ham, prepared salads (including pre-packed mixed green salads, rice, potato salad etc.). · Desserts, e.g., fromage frais, home-prepared food and leftovers or cream cakes. NOTE: Always wrap and store raw meat, poultry and fish on the lowest shelf at the bottom of the fridge. This will prevent them from dripping onto, or touching other foods. Do not store inflammable gasses or liquids in the fridge. RECOMMENDED STORAGE PERIODS · Refer to the information given on your food packaging for recommended food storage times. CARE & CLEANING INTERNAL CLEANING · After defrosting, clean the fridge internally with a weak bicarbonate of soda solution. Then rinse with warm water using a damp sponge or cloth and wipe dry. · Wash the baskets in warm soapy water and ensure they are completely dry before replacing in the Fridge. EXTERIOR CLEANING · Use standard non-abrasive detergent diluted in warm water to clean the Fridge exterior. · The grille of the condenser at the rear and adjacent components can be vacuumed using a soft brush attachment. · Do not use harsh cleaners, scouring pads or solvents to clean any parts of the appliance. MAINTENANCE · This appliance should only be serviced by an authorized technician and only ensure genuine spare parts are used. · Under no circumstances should you attempt to repair the appliance yourself as repairs carried out by inexperienced persons may cause injury or serious malfunctioning. 8 · When the appliance is not in use for long periods, disconnect from the electricity supply, empty all foods and clean the appliance, leaving the door ajar to prevent unpleasant smells. OFF · Set temperature control knob to "OFF" position. Note that the knob can be disassembled easily. MOVING THE FRIDGE/FREEZER LOCATION · Do not place your Fridge/Freezer near heat sources such as cooker, boiler or radiator. Also avoid direct sunlight in out-buildings or sun lounges. LEVELING THE FRIDGE/FREEZER · Ensure the appliance is levelled. Use the rotating leveling feet at the front. · If the appliance is not levelled, the doors and magnetic seal alignments will be affected and may result in malfunctions. · Do not turn on the appliance for four (4) hours after the appliance is in place it time for the coolant to settle. INSTALLATION · Do not cover or obstruct the vents or grilles of your appliance. VACATION TIME · Turn off the refrigerator first and then unplug the unit from the wall outlet. · Remove all the food. · Clean the refrigerator. · Leave the lid open slightly to avoid possible formation of condensation, mold, or odors. · Use extreme caution in the case of children. The unit should not be accessible to child's play. · Short vacations: Leave the refrigerator operating during vacations of less than three weeks. · Long vacations: If the appliance is not to be used for several months, remove all food and disconnect the power cord. Clean and dry the interior thoroughly. · To prevent odor and mold growth, leave the door slightly ajar or remove the door if necessary. 9 ENERGY SAVINGS TIPS · Install the refrigerator in the coolest part of the room, away from direct sunlight. Do not place the appliance next to heat sources such as a range, oven or dishwasher. · The refrigerator door should remain open only as long as necessary; do not place hot food inside the refrigerator. · Organize the refrigerator to reduce door openings. Remove as many items as needed at one time and close the door as soon as possible. · Close the appliance door properly to avoid increased energy consumption, and the formation of excess ice and / or condensation inside. · Constantly circulating cold air keeps the temperature consistent inside the appliance. For this reason, it is important to properly distribute the food, to facilitate the flow of air. · Cover foods and wipe containers dry before placing them in the refrigerator to cut down on moisture build-up inside the unit. · Do not overfill the refrigerator or obstruct cold air vents as this will utilize more energy. · Do not line shelves with aluminum foil, wax paper or paper toweling as these could interfere with cold air circulation, making the refrigerator less efficient, possibly causing food spoilage. · It is advisable to disconnect the appliance during long absences (example: vacations) and remove all foods before cleaning it. Leave the door slightly ajar to prevent mold and unpleasant odors. Norw that this will not affect the refrigerator when it is reconnected again. · During short absences (example: holidays), the refrigerator can remain in operation. However, remember that prolonged power outages may occur while you are gone. REPLACING THE INTERNAL APPLIANCE LAMP · Before carrying out the bulb replacement always press and turn the thermostat control to dial to "OFF" position, and proceed to disconnect the appliance from the power supply. · Hold and lift up the light bulb cover. · Remove the damaged bulb by turning it in an anti-clockwise direction. · Replace with new bulb (Max. 10W) by turning it clockwise and ensuring that it fits securely in the bulb holder. · Refit the light cover and re-connect the appliance to the power supply and power on. POWER INFORMATION: THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED. · This appliance is fitted with a power plug which will be suitable for use in all houses fitted with power supply sockets to current specifications. · If the fitted power plug is not suitable for your power supply socket outlets, it should be cut off and carefully disposed of. To avoid a possible shock hazard, do not insert the discarded power plug into a power supply socket. · This appliance complies with the EEC Directives. 10 TROUBLESHOOTING Note: Stop operating the appliance should you encounter any abnormalities or malfunction. Disconnect power cord from the power supply and refer to this troubleshooting guide for possible faults. Do not attempt to disassemble and modify or repair the appliance yourself. PROBLEM Appliance not operating Abnormal noises Poor refrigerating efficiency Peculiar odor inside appliance POSSIBLE CAUSE(S) · Is power plug not connected? · Are breakers and fuses damaged? · No power supply or power line tripped? · Is the appliance placed in balconies, garages, storage rooms and other places where the ambient temperature is below 10°C? · Is appliance placed on stable surface? · Does the appliance contact with the wall? · Did you put hot food or too much food? · Do you open the door frequently? · Do you clip food bag to the seal of door? · Is the appliance placed in direct sunlight or near heat sources? · Is the room well-ventilated? · Temperature setting too high? · Any spoiled food? · Do you need to clean appliance? · Did you pack food with strong aromas? SOLUTION · Connect power plug again · Open the door and check whether the lamp is lit. · Power outage or power line tripping? · Reinstall refrigerator in a covered location and the ambient temperature is set above 10°C. Appliance installed in extreme low temperatures may affect the operation of the internal cooling system. · Adjust the appliance's adjustable feet. · Move appliance away from the wall. · Only place hot food into appliance when cool. · Do not leave the door open too long. · Remove appliance from the heat source. · Ensure adequate ventilation around the room. · Set to the appropriate temperature setting. · Discard any spoiled food. · Clean refrigerator. · Cover food with strong aromas. Note: If the above guides are inapplicable to troubleshooting, do not disassemble and repair it yourself. Repairs performed by inexperienced persons may cause injury or appliance damage. Contact the sales agent to ensure this appliance is serviced by an authorized technician and ensure only genuine spare parts are used. When the appliance is not in use for long periods, disconnect from the power supply, empty all foods. Clean the appliance and leave the door slightly ajar to prevent unpleasant odors. CORRECT DISPOSAL OF THIS PRODUCT This marking indicates that this product should not be disposed with other household wastes throughout the EU. To prevent possible harm to the environment or human health from uncontrolled waste disposal, recycle it responsibly to promote the sustainable reuse of material resources. To return your used device, please use the return and collection systems or contact the retailer where the product was purchased. They can take this product for environmental safe recycling. Warnings for disposal · Refrigerant and cyclopentane foaming material used for the refrigerator are flammable. Therefore, when the refrigerator is scrapped, it shall be kept away from any fire source and be recovered by a special recovering company with corresponding qualification other than be disposed by combustion, so as to prevent damage to the environment or any other harm. · When the refrigerator is scrapped, disassemble the doors, and remove gasket of door and shelves; put the doors and shelves in a proper place, so as to prevent trapping of any child. 11
