Auto Sensor Cooking

The [Auto] button activates special sensor cooking functions. Place pot, turn on zone, press [Auto]. 'A' appears. The indicator for the first special feature available for the cooking zone will light up. Press [Auto] again to skip to the next feature. If no button is pressed, the function activates automatically after 3 seconds. Confirm selection by pressing [Auto] when the cooktop sounds. Power level is not editable; the cooktop sets a default. To deactivate, press [ON/OFF] or [Auto] until a dash '-' is visible.

Auto Sensor Fry

Ideal for preheating an empty pan or a pan with oil (up to 3/8" or 1 cm deep) to the best frying temperature. A sound alerts you when it's time to move to the next stage. The cooktop stabilizes and adjusts temperature. Press [Auto] to confirm food placement. Best used with room temperature pan and oil. Recommended to use with suggested accessories.

Auto Sensor Boil

Ideal for heating water (8-17 cups or 2-4 L) to boiling and preventing over-boiling. A sound alerts you to move to the next stage. Press [Auto] to confirm food placement. The system monitors cooking to help prevent over-boiling, but user supervision and power adjustment may be necessary. Using a lid is recommended to reduce boiling time. Follow food packaging for water quantity. Recommended to use with suggested accessories.

Assisted Cooking

The [Asst] button activates assisted cooking functions. Place pot, turn on zone, press [Asst]. 'A' appears. The indicator for the first feature lights up. Press [Asst] to select other features. If no button is pressed, the function activates automatically after 3 seconds. Power level is not editable. To deactivate, press [ON/OFF] or [Asst] until a dash '-' is visible.

Assisted Melt

Brings food to ideal melting temperature and maintains it, without damaging delicate foods like chocolate, and prevents sticking.

Extendible Zone (Double Zone)

The zone adapts automatically based on container diameter, activating partially (inner zone) or completely (outer zone). Ensure the pot's center aligns with the cooking zone's center.

Assisted Simmer

Ideal for maintaining a simmering temperature for long-cooking recipes (rice, sauces, soups) with liquid bases.

Assisted Boil

Brings water to a boil and keeps it boiling. Use water at room temperature, preferably uncovered. Users should monitor boiling water and water level. The required water quantity is illustrated by burner dimension.

Diagram shows three zones labeled A, B, C with corresponding cup/liter volumes: A (2 cups/0.5 L), B (25 cups/6 L), C (2 cups/0.5 L).

Pots/Pans for Assisted Cooking Functions

Optional Assisted Cooking functions require specific pots/pans sold separately. Visit jennair.com/parts-and-accessories or call the Customer eXperience Center. See Assistance or Service section for details.

Pot for Boiling Assisted Cooking function: Order Part Number W11463464.

Pan for Frying Cooking function: Order Part Number W11463466.

IMPORTANT: Sensors are configured for recommended pans. Match pan size to zone size. Using incorrect sizes or poor positioning may limit sensor activation. Pans from other manufacturers may perform differently. Monitor cooking closely and switch to manual mode if necessary. The unit has auto shut-off for over-voltage, spills, empty pans, or extended cooking. Always keep pot centered. Leave accessory stationary during heating for accuracy. Wait for acoustic warning before adding food. Avoid using assisted functions when 'H' (hot indicator) is present.

Indicators

Pot Incorrectly Positioned or Missing

This symbol appears if the pot is unsuitable for induction, not positioned correctly, or not of appropriate size. If no pot is detected within 30 seconds, the zone switches off.

Residual Heat

An "H" on the display indicates the cooking zone is hot. The indicator stays on even if the zone was not activated but heated by an adjacent zone or a hot pot. The "H" disappears when the zone cools down.

Ceramic Glass

Cleaning the induction cooktop before and after each use helps prevent stains and ensures more even heating. Consult the "General Cleaning" section for more information.

Use flat-bottomed cookware for best heat conduction and energy efficiency. Cookware with rounded, warped, ribbed, or dented bottoms may cause uneven heating and poor results.

Determine flatness by placing a straight edge across the cookware bottom. Rotate the edge; no space or light should be visible between it and the cookware.

Ensure pot and pan bottoms are clean and dry before use. Residue and water can leave deposits when heated.

Cooktop Care

General Cleaning

IMPORTANT: Before cleaning, ensure all controls are off and the cooktop is cool. Always follow label instructions on cleaning products. Soap, water, and a soft cloth or sponge are suggested, unless otherwise noted. Do not use a steam cleaner.

Ceramic Glass Cleaning Method:

To avoid damage, do not use steel wool, abrasive powder cleansers, chlorine bleach, rust remover, or ammonia.

The complete cooktop cleaner kit (Cooktop Scraper, Affresh® Cooktop Cleaner, Blue Cooktop Cleaning Pads) is available for order. See "Accessories" section for part numbers.

Note: During cleaning, if the control lock is not activated, some keys may turn on. Activate the lock function to avoid this. Do not place objects on the control panel.

Stainless Steel (on some models)

To avoid damage, do not use soapy scouring pads, abrasive cleaners, cooktop cleaner, steel wool pads, gritty washcloths, or abrasive paper towels. Rub in the direction of the grain.
