Samsung Firmware Upgrade Guide

Step 1: Prepare the USB Memory Drive

1. Download the firmware file from Samsung.com to your computer.
2. Unzip the downloaded files.
3. Connect a USB Memory Drive to your PC's USB port and copy the unzipped firmware file to the drive's top folder.
4. Confirm the file is correctly placed in the USB drive's root directory.
5. Safely disconnect the USB memory drive from your computer.

Caution: Interrupting the update process by unplugging power, removing the USB drive, or experiencing a power outage can lead to permanent damage. Do not rename update files, as this may void any warranty for defects caused by such actions.

Step 2: Upgrade the Firmware via USB

1. Turn on the unit and insert the prepared USB drive into the USB port located at the bottom of the device.
2. Press the 'source' button on the top panel or remote control to select USB mode. The update should commence automatically within a minute.
3. The display will show a sequence: "UPDATE" → Progress(%) → "ON". This process typically takes around 2 minutes.

Important: Do not turn off the power or remove the USB drive during the firmware update.

Recommendation: After the firmware update is complete, it is recommended to initialize the unit. To do this, turn on the unit, then press and hold the "VOL +" and "VOL -" buttons on the top panel simultaneously for 5 seconds. The display will show "INIT".
