VELIRIO XD Wi-Fi Mini Camera - Complete Setup Guide
1. Charge the Camera
The camera does not have a built-in battery, so it needs to stay connected to a power source for continuous use. Use a 5V/1A power adapter to power up the camera by connecting the USB cable provided. Once connected, wait for the red LED light to turn on, indicating that the camera is powered.
2. Insert a microSD Card
If you want to save video recordings, insert a microSD card into the card slot. The camera supports class 10 microSD cards with a capacity of 8GB to 128GB. Make sure the card is formatted before use. You can do this by using a computer or directly in the camera.
3. Download the Mobile App (V380 Pro)
To set up and control the camera, you need to download the 'V380 Pro' app on your smartphone:
- For iOS devices: Go to the App Store and search for 'V380 Pro' to download and install.
- For Android devices: Go to the Google Play Store, search for 'V380 Pro,' and download the app.
4. Set Up the Camera in Short-Range Mode (P2P Connection)
After installing the app, follow these steps to connect the camera to your phone:
- Plug the camera into a power source and wait for about 1 minute until the red LED light turns on.
- Insert the formatted microSD card into the camera (if needed for video storage).
- On your smartphone, go to the Wi-Fi settings. Look for a Wi-Fi signal that starts with 'MV' and connect to it.
- Open the 'V380 Pro' app, refresh the screen, and the camera will appear. Tap on the camera to set a username and password. If you do not set a password, the short and long-range settings will not work.
- Once the username and password are set, you will be able to view live video from the camera on your phone.
Note: If the camera does not appear, reset it by pressing the reset button with a pin or toothpick for 5 seconds and try again.
5. Set Up the Camera in Long-Range Mode (Wi-Fi Router Connection)
For remote monitoring over long distances, follow these steps:
- After the short-range setup is complete, click on the 'Settings' icon in the app.
- Select 'Network' and choose 'Change to WiFi Station Mode.'
- Choose the Wi-Fi network you want to connect the camera to, enter your Wi-Fi password, and press confirm.
- Wait for the camera to connect to the Wi-Fi network. Once connected, the camera's LED light will turn blue, indicating that it is online and ready for long-range monitoring.
Note: The distance between the camera and the Wi-Fi router should not exceed 30 feet to ensure a stable connection.
6. Recording Video and Motion Detection
The camera will automatically start recording when it detects motion within its field of view. The recordings will be saved onto the microSD card (if inserted). When the microSD card is full, the camera will overwrite the oldest recordings (loop recording).
7. Night Vision Mode
The camera is equipped with infrared (IR) night vision, which allows it to record even in low light or no light conditions. It will automatically switch to night vision mode when the surrounding light is low.
8. Viewing and Managing Footage
On your mobile device: You can view live footage and stored video recordings through the 'V380 Pro' app.
On your computer: Remove the microSD card from the camera and use a card reader to access the video files. They will be saved in MP4 format, which can be played on most media players.
9. Alarming and Human Detection (Optional Feature)
The camera can be set to trigger an alarm only when it detects human movement (optional feature). This reduces false alarms caused by wind, pets, or other non-human activities. You can activate this feature in the 'Alarm' section of the app.
10. Troubleshooting & Resetting the Camera
If the camera is not responding or if you are having trouble connecting, reset it by pressing the reset button with a pin or toothpick for 5 seconds.
If the camera fails to connect to the Wi-Fi network or the app shows the camera as 'offline,' try refreshing the app or re-enter the Wi-Fi password.
